Paper Sweeties February Inspiration Challenge #28 - 'Sweetheart'

Hi, friends!  Are you ready for another SWEET challenge at Paper Sweeties?!  I hope so!  We've got a fabulous prompt for you this month and the team has amazing creations to share with you!  Check out our inspiration board...

Isn't that the sweetest?!  I was totally loving these colors and so they had to be used in my creation.  I had also been thinking of making a shaped easel card for a special Valentine, and so that's the route I went.  Heart shaped, of course!  Take a peek...

I started by creating my focal panel.  I added the patterned paper to the die cut heart and then decided to jazz up Abigail using the Abigail Sweet Cuts and the Sweetie Pie stamp set.  Her skin, bow, and hair were colored in with Spectrum Noir markers.  I paper pieced her clothes and added an enamel heart to her shirt for added interest.

After adding Abigail to the panel, I used the Be Happy stamp set to stamp some of the larger hearts onto red patterned paper.  I then die cut these out with the Be Happy Sweet Cuts and also some smaller hearts as well.  I added some Peppermint sequins for some extra shine and some enamel hearts to tie it all together.

After I finished the main panel, I added it to the card base.  For the sentiment, I stamped the banner and a sentiment from the Hello Friend stamp set.  I then die cut this out using the Be Happy Sweet Cuts and layered it to the base on top of a punched and layered heart.

This creation is destined to go to my sweet nieces who live in a different state this Valentine's Day.  What do you think?  Will they love it?!  I hope so--I really like the way this turned out!  I'd love it if you left me a comment to tell me what you think, too!

That's all for me right now!  Please hop over to the Paper Sweeties blog and join in this fun challenge and go grab these goodies from the Paper Sweeties store!  For more inspiration, check out the other Sweeties' creations..

Inspired By Stamping: Designer Spotlight!

Hello, crafty friends and followers!  Thanks for stopping by today!  I'm excited to share that today I am the weekend spotlight designer for Inspired By Stamping! :)  These spotlights come directly to your inbox if you've signed up for the newsletter, so make sure you do that!  I've got a shabby card to share with you using LOTS of fun products from the Inspired By Stamping store, come and see...

I started this card by stamping the banner from A Lovely Birthday onto gray card.  I then heat embossed a sentiment from the Cute Circles stamp set in a light pink color.

This was added to the card base that was made using paper from the Vintage Floral Paper Pad, gray card, and some added stamping of the "LOVE" postage stamp image from A Lovely Birthday.  The patterned paper was distressed before adding it to the gray card for added texture.

For embellishments, I added some Cherry Blossoms, buttons, pearls, liquid pearl dots, lace trim, and sequin trim.  I also added some punched leaves and bright pink seam binding for added texture and to make the design more cohesive.

The end result is so much prettier than I had in my mind as I began this card!  I am very happy with it--what are your thoughts about this creation?  I hope you let me know in the comments!

Thanks for stopping by today to look at my creation!  I hope you like it and that it's inspired you to create something of your own today!  If you do, please join in the fun with these fabulous challenge, too!  Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping to you all! :)

CASE-ing Christmas: Challenge #5

Hi, crafty peeps!  How'd your January pan out?  I hope it was fabulous!  The second month of 2015 is about to start, but first, we have another new challenge going on this week at CASE-ing Christmas!  This week, we're CASEing another one of my past creations...take a gander at it real quick...

I decided to use the same color scheme and the same birch tree stamp from Great Impressions on my CASE for this week.  The colors look a bit more green than blue, but I think it turned out great.  Here's my creation inspired by past work...

Like I said, I decided to use the same birch tree stamp from Great Impressions.  I heat embossed it onto some Basic Grey patterned paper using black and silver embossing powder.  I added a few rhinestones around the trees to imitate snow.

I then cut out some silver glitter paper by DCWV to create snowbanks.  I added them to the card and used some Stickles glitter glue to the tops to show that there are two panels, not just one, of "snow".

The last thing to do was to add a sentiment.  This one is from Close To My Heart.  I decided to go geometric when I cut the side at an angle before adding it to the card.  This helps lend to the modern feel of the card.

The completed card looks very modern.  Or retro.  Which cracks me up because I feel like those two terms that should be opposites are usually more in common than unalike. ;)  I think it looks great, though.  What do you think?  I'd love for you to leave me a comment and let me know!

That's all for me today!  I'll be back next week with another card for CASE-ing Christmas, and I hope you hop on over and join in our current challenge!  I cannot wait to see what you will create for us!  HUGS and MERRY stamping to you all!

Inspired By Stamping: Vellum Valentine

Hello, sweeties! :)  I'm here today with a card that uses some yummy new stamps from the Inspired By Stamping store and also features a super easy but elegant looking technique--stamping on vellum!  I decided to go Valentine on this one...take a peek...

I started this card with the stamping on vellum.  I stamped the "hello" sentiment from the Big Hello stamp set, one of our newest releases, in Versamark onto the vellum banner.  I then heat embossed this word in sparkly red embossing powder.  I then stamped the "SWEETIE" sentiment from the Big Hello stamp set with Versamark and heat embossed this with glittery black embossing powder.

The key to heat embossing on vellum is to be quick and to hold both ends of the vellum.  I usually use a pair of tweezers for one of the sides and either my finger (yes, they're not as heat sensitive as they used to be) or a stylus for the other side.  You could probably use two pairs of tweezers and lay it on the desk...if that works, please tell me! ;)

After doing this, I adhered the banner to a punched and layered paper heart.  I added this to a panel that was created with black cardstock and music printed paper.  A button with a twine bow, an enamel heart, and a red rhinestone finished off this side of the card.

This card fits two of the components of our challenge this month--the color and the theme.  Here are those inspiration boards--you should come and play along!

So, do you think this card fits the challenges?!  I do!  I love the final product--it's so sparkly and fun!  It's destined to be given out to someone special this Valentine's day. :)  I hope you leave me a comment to tell me what you think!

That's all for me today!  I hope you take a chance to go and grab our newest release from the store and, if you spend $50, you will get the stamp set I used today for FREE!  Also, come and join in the fun of our current challenge, too!  If you use products from the Inspired By Stamping store, link them up in the Customer Gallery as well!  HUGS and happy stamping to you all!

Big Hello stamp set

Ombre Hearts

Hi, friends!  I'm back with another Valentine card that uses vellum--I'm just in that kind of mood lately! ;)  This one uses some generational stamping to create an ombre heart background, too!  Come and take a peek...

I started by heat embossing the sentiment from the Big Hello stamp set from Inspired By Stamping with silver embossing powder onto vellum.  I jazzed the vellum up with some ribbon, liquid pearls, and rhinestones.  The embossing and embellishments made it easy to add dimensional foam strategically so that the sentiment panel could be popped up on the stamped panel.

The background panel was created using a heart image from the Build a Stocking set from Inspired By Stamping.  I used generational stamping to create this and I love the way it turned out!  It's interesting to me how the color changes as you stamp off a few times!

The last step was to just add the panel to a white card base.  Voila!  I think it turned out so sweet!  What do you think?  I would love for you to leave me a comment and let me know!  :)

I'd like to enter this card into these fabulous challenges~

Thanks so much for stopping by to check out my card!  I hope you like it and that you come and play along with these fun challenges!  Until next time, HUGs and happy stamping to you all! :)

Winter Wishes

Howdy, folks!  I know that I am probably the only one in the world wishing for snow right now, but I am!  Usually by this time here in Kansas, we've had many snow storms.  This year, one snow fall.  Didn't last 3 days.  It's been in the 70's this week.  NOT what I love about winter!  Of course, there are downsides, but I am really wishing for snow, so I've made a card to express my wish...come and take a peek!

This CAS card was super quick to put together.  I punched out some snowflakes using a Martha Stewart punch and DCWV silver glitter paper plus Stampin' Up! Tempting Turquoise cardstock.  I layered these together and added Darice rhinestones to the centers.  I then layered my three snowflakes onto some Stampin' Up! vellum that was backed with more Tempting Turquoise cardstock and added some liquid pearls in Silver.

I then added the punched panel to the card.  I stamped a sentiment from Stampendous under the snowflakes.  I then accented this with some Sakura clear glitter gel pen and a couple Silver liquid pearls.

See?  Super duper simple!  I'm thinking of recreating this using hearts and a different sentiment.  This is such a fun CAS layout and perfect for quick card making!  These would be perfect to make for last
minute holiday cards, too!  Not that we have that problem in January... ;)

I'm entering this card into these fabulous challenges~

That's it for me right now!  I have another card to blog, but I might have to wait until tomorrow. ;)  I hope you come and join in the fun of these fabulous challenges!  Thanks for stopping by--I'd love to hear what you think about my card in the comments below!  HUGS and happy stamping, friends!
