Seize the Birthday + MHKDesigns: Butterfly Birthday

Hi, friends!  I am back with another creation for the current challenge at Seize the Birthday!!!  I've been having tons of fun with this talented DT, and I hope you've been playing along with us!

You can never have too many birthday cards, and I can't wait to share with you what I have for this fortnight's challenge!  The challenge for the next two weeks is "Anything Birthday Goes" with a topping option of "Birds, Bees, or Butterflies". Check out my creation...

I used the Butterfly Wisdom digital stamp set from MHKDesigns for the image on this card.  I colored this image in with Spectrum Noir markers, then added some glitter for extra shine and sparkle.  Various washi tapes help to anchor the image in place atop a dry embossed focal panel.

The sentiment, from the Fruit Borders digital stamp set, was printed onto vellum before being added to the card.  The patterned paper is from the Stars & Stripes digital paper pack.  A few sequins help to add more shine around the fun sentiment.

The focal panel was added to the card base with dimensional foam to add a bit more depth to this creation.  I love the way this turned out, and I hope you do, too!  I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Thank you so much for stopping by to take a peek at my creation today, friends!  I hope you take some time to join in the fun at Seize the Birthday!  I'll be back soon with more paper crafted creations to share with you.  Until then, HUGS and happy stamping to you all! :)

Great Impressions: Hello Birdies

Hi, all!  I'm back today to share one last card I made using stamps from Great Impressions for the Great Impressions design team.  I went shabby and sweet...or should I say tweet?  Take a peek...

I started by stamping and coloring G111 Roses and Birds with colored pencils. I stamped my sentiment, B152 Hello Friend, onto vellum, then stapled it to the image panel.  A few pearls accent the sentiment vellum for a bit more elegance.

I added this panel to a card base prepped with some patterned paper, a doily, and some pink seam binding ribbon.  I think this turned out beautifully, and I hope you agree!  Please let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

That's all for me today, friends.  THANK YOU so much for stopping by to take a peek at my card!  I want to say another HUGE "thank you" to Deone and the gals at Great Impressions!  I have been on this team for a few years now, and stepping down is difficult.  I need to take a step back so that I can finish my degree, and I'm grateful that they have been understanding of that.  Until later, HUGS and happy stamping, friends! :)

MHKDesigns: SURPRISE, ASHA!!!

Hello, and welcome to our SURPRISE Birthday Beach Blog Hop for the lovely Asha!  You should have arrived here from Michele Henderson's blog.  Make sure to complete the entire hop, starting at MHKDesigns, for more chances to WIN!  We are celebrating a very special lady today, and we're doing so by creating beachy birthday cards to wish her many happy returns!

Here's the inspiration we are using~

I chose to use a mash up of different products from the MHKDesigns Etsy shop for my card for Asha.  I kept with the beach theme and added a birthday sentiment.  Take a peek...

The image, from the Serene Seaside digital stamp set, was colored with colored pencils.  Some glitter was added to the clouds for added texture and shine, and a few seashells and a rhinestone were added as accents in the bottom left hand corner.

I chose to use a sentiment from the Fruit Borders set for this birthday greeting card.  Asha is a beautiful person, and she deserves so much to have a beautiful day!  I printed the sentiment on vellum, then layered it over black cardstock and papers from the Serene Seaside and Autumnal Accents digital paper packs.

My kraft card base was prepped with more paper from the Serene Seaside digital paper pack, matted with black, and some cheesecloth to mimic the texture of a fishing net.  I hope that Asha approves, and I hope you do, too!  I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Asha, I hope you have an AMAZING day, my friend!  Spend time with your hubby and fur babies, eat whatever you want, do whatever you want, and remember that you are LOVED!!!  Thank you SO MUCH for all you do to help me personally and for the joy you spread throughout blog land!

Thank you so much for joining in our hop to say "Happy Birthday" to a dear friend!  Your next stop on the hop is NanaConnie's blogI hope you hop over and join the fun by linking up your own beach themed birthday card in honor of Asha!  Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping, friends! :)

Great Impressions: Colorful Garden

Hi, all!  I'm back today to share another card I made using stamps from Great Impressions.  I went CAS and colorful this time around.  Take a peek...

I started by stamping and coloring J09 Garden Flowers with Spectrum Noir markers. I added a bit of glitter to some of the image for a bit more texture and sparkle.  Some enamel dots and a fun scallop border accent this lovely image.

I decided to keep it simple and just adhere the focal panel to a kraft card base.  I left off a sentiment to keep this card super versatile.  It will also mail easily--BONUS!  I think this is super pretty, and I hope you agree!  Please let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

That's all for me today, friends.  THANK YOU so much for stopping by to take a peek at my card!  I also would love for you to come and join our monthly challenge!  If you use a stamp from the Great Impressions online store, please link it up in our Customer Gallery, too!  Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping, friends! :)

MHKDesigns: Butterfly Elements

Hello, all!  It's time for the June 2016 release at MHKDesigns, and there are some fabulous sets coming your way!  Today's set includes some sweet butterfly images and accompanying sentiments!  Take a peek at...

This set has three sentiments that could be used for many occasions--including birthdays!  I love the whimsical feel of these images, too.  Come and see the card I created...

I colored the smaller butterfly border image from the Butterfly Elements set with colored pencils, then added a bit of white Glaze gel pen for a bit of shine and finish.  The sentiment was printed onto vellum, then added on top of a bit of paper from the Stencil in the Roses paper pack.  A fun paper flower and some punched leaves accent the sentiment and add more texture and interest.

I chose to keep it more CAS to show off each element and give them equal attention.  I think this turned out to be super pretty, and I hope you agree!  I'd love to hear your comments below! :)

So, now that we have that out of the way, let's talk about how to get this new set OR the entire release for FREE!  Here's what you'll need to do...
