A rare post...

***WARNING: PICTURE HEAVY...AND WORDY...
...AND A BIT LINK HEAVY...JUST, BE CAREFUL***

Yeah, I know.  I'm hilarious!  It's not rare at all for me to post!  Or to have some crazy warning about lots of photos, etc...BUT it is rare for me to post a handmade card for Word Art Wednesday!  Usually I make a digital print over on my digital artwork blog, My Uni-verse, but this time I've created a special digi to share with you all!  Let's take a look at the EASEL card I made.  That's right.  I finally made one!  Rare post indeed!

Here's the card~

For these fabulous challenges~

F-Sketchy 14

What do you think of my very first easel card?  I rather like it!  I can't believe I thought it would be too hard for me to try!  If you think this, TRUST ME.  If I can make it, anybody can!!!!  I've used papers by Stampin' Up! and Pink Paislee, ink by SU!, rhinestones from the dollar section somewhere and ribbon from SU!  Oh, and a darling fabric flower by Basic Grey!  AND, I've used the faux pressed flowers technique that was featured last month at Technique Tuesday.  Stop by there tomorrow for a brand spakin' new monthly technique challenge--it's a goodie!

Oh, I almost forgot, I promised you the free digi!  Yes.  I did!  I made it by me own wee self!  If you fancy it, take it for your own stash! ;)

Here it is~

Thanks for stopping by!  I'll be making a digi print, as well, and posting my thoughts on this scripture over at My Uni-verse.  I hope to see you there, too!  Happy stamping, friends!

2 cards...

Yes.  I'm doing it again.  I'm sharing 2 cards in one post.  It's been CRAZY today and so I have to be quick!  So let's get started!  This first one is for the Less Is More challenge to create a one layer card using only 3 stamps.  The stamps I used were the sentiment, the large flower, and the small flower.  You'll be able to tell...this is also my "Spread the L-O-V-E" card for the week sent to a wonderful lady whose inspiring words really helped me out this weekend.  The sentiment looks really dark, but it's really Island Indigo, a bright blue by Stampin' Up!.

The second card is for 2 fabulous challenges.  I've used the colors from CR84FN and the sketch from Retro Sketches.  I went for white on white with some pops of color--one of my favorite things! :)  You may remember the main image panel from this post...

Here's the inspiration photos~

Thanks for popping over today!  School is out next week and I'm hoping that things will get better after I'm not working full time for a bit!  Also, I would love to see you all over at Technique Tuesday!  The month is only half over, so you've got a bit to create something!!! Happy stamping!!! :)

THE GREAT CRAFT ROOM MAKEOVER!!!

***WARNING: PICTURE HEAVY POST***

So, I've been a bit MIA--I know that I posted yesterday, but I always have my DT posts ready to go a month in advance. Yes. OCD. It works for me. Please keep reading this post. There is a card at the end! ;)

The reason I've been MIA is that I have been doing a craft room make-over!!! My craft room was an absolute DISASTER.

Take a look~

Yeah. And that was after I'd been cleaning for a few hours and deciding I could blog this. NOT EVEN JOKING. Not even joking a little bit. It was literally STILL this messy after cleaning for 2 HOURS, people. I could NOT sleep last night--I kept thinking of how to rearrange everything. I wanted to clean! I forced myself to sleep. So, I got up and the first thing I did after showering and eating breakfast this morning was CLEAN. And it was SO REWARDING!!!

Here's the after~

SOOOOO much better!!! My Big Shot actually fits on my desk! This whole thing started when I decided to put all my acrylic and clear mount sets into CD cases. So, I had to reorganize my desk area. And then the reorganizing turned into THE GREAT CRAFT ROOM MAKEOVER!!! I just haven't vacuumed...I don't vacuum my craft area regularly since there's always bits of paper on the floor two seconds later. What about you?

Thanks for listening to my rambling. Now, a card! This one's for the Creative Belli CAS challenge and the CR84FN color challenge.

Here's the CR84FN inspiration photo~

And here's the card~

So, there you have it! An awesome post from me! Now onto my next spring break goal--all DT cards and posts for April ready to go!!! ;) Thanks for popping by--hope you've been inspired to create something today!!! Happy stamping! :)

A few more sympathy cards...

I'm back today with another couple of cards that were made for my co-worker. As I stated in my post yesterday, I was commissioned by her to make 5 sympathy cards. Some of them could be interchangeable, as I used simple sentiments. I've got 4 more cards to show you, but I'll just share 2 of them tonight. :)

This first card is for the One Layer Wednesday challenge. This week we were asked to create a one layer card using cream, black, and bling! :) I used some Core-dinations shimmery cream paper, Stampin' Up! Basic Black ink and stamps, and rhinestones by Kaiser Craft.

Here it is with a few detailed shots~

The second and last card for tonight is for the Pink Elephant sketch challenge, the Top Tip Tuesday Faux or Real stitching challenge, and for the CR84FN color challenge: kraft, gray, and yellow.

Here's my card~

Details~

I chose faux stitching, as I don't have a sewing machine and hand stitching didn't quite appeal to me. It took quite a while to do all the pieces I wanted to faux stitch, but I really like the way it turned out! I have a TIP for faux stitching--draw your lines in with a ruler before paper piercing to save time--it's a lot easier that way! For my faux stitching, I chose to use a dark gray glitter gel pen. I also highlighted the sentiment with a glitter gel pen to give a bit more depth to my card. I LOVE glitter gel pens!!! :) All cardstock and stamps are by Stampin' Up!, the patterned paper is by DCWV, and the rhinestones are by Basic Grey.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek--I can't wait to see everyone else's creations! Happy stamping! :)
