Treasure Chest

Hi, friends!  Hope you all had a lovely weekend!  Mine went far too quickly. ;)  Anyway, as Father's Day is coming up this weekend, I thought it prudent to actually make my dad his gift.  I decided on this a while back and the end result turned out perfectly!  My dad LOVES Hershey's nuggets so I thought it would be fun to make him a treasure chest and fill it with them...and so I did!

Here's the treasure chest~

For these fabulous challenges~

I used a bunch of buttons, rhinestones, and pearls from my stash, a stamp by Inkadinkado, a dry embossing folder by Darice, gold glitter paper by DCWV, and all other supplies are by Stampin' Up!.

Thanks so much for stopping by to look at my creation!  I hope that you've been inspired to create something today and that you'll join in the fun with these fabulous challenges!  HUGS and happy stamping friends! :)

Make My Monday: Vintage

It's week two of our MASCULINE month at Make My Monday! :)  This week we'd like to see a masculine card in the vintage style!

Here's my card~

Details~

This one was so very fun to make!  I got to use a rarely used Father's day stamp that is from Inkadinkadoo and some images from the Daily Junque line from Pink Paislee.  I used a bunch of dry embossing using Tim Holtz folders and went with a brown monochromatic scheme.  I don't know why, but each time I hear vintage, I think of brown!  Sponged edges, metallic brads, and a heat embossed panel finished off my vintage look.

We are very fortunate to be sponsored by the fabulous Marianne Designs, who have provided an amazing bundle of goodies as a prize.

I hope you pop on over and join us!  I love seeing what all of you create--and don't forget to get more inspiration by visiting my fabulous design team members! :) Happy stamping!!!

Father's Day...in December?!

Yes. I am totally doing it. Posting a Father's Day card in December! WHY?! Well, because I discovered a new challenge--Cards for Men! The current challenge is "2". It's their second anniversary, and we can interpret this any what we'd like. I'll tell you all the ways I used 2 after I show you...

...the card~

Details~

Okay, here's how I used 2 to create this card. I used two stripes of two different papers. I used an image that has the number 2 on it. I embossed my image with 2 types of embossing--dry and heat. There ya go!

So, what do you think?! I think it will be a hit with our TWO fathers this upcoming year. :)

By the way--if I get 100 followers by January 1, 2012, I will be giving away blog candy!!! :) I hope you join me--I really want to give away some presents! :) Happy stamping!!!

Father's Day 2011

So, I wanted something different for a Father's Day card this year. As my husband and I do not have children, and I realize he is still a father to all the kids he comes in contact with, I wanted it to be more of an expression of gratitude for the things he does for me--because part of being a good father is being a good husband.

I also didn't want to have to make three different cards for my husband, my father and my father-in-law. So...this is what I came up with! The only difference between my husband's card and the other two is that the inside says, "Thank you for being my home," instead of "Thank you for making our house a home," implying that my husband is my heart.

Corny? Yes! And I love it! And especially HIM!!! I hope that you have a HAPPY FATHER'S DAY and that you take the time to thank all the father figures in your life! Happy crafting!
