Soft & Subtle Thanks

Okay. This card is actually something that I am terribly proud of. It's turned out sooooo much better than I thought it would! Can you believe it?! I can't...it's really late I didn't think it would be good at all!!!

Okay, I am entering this into a few challenges AND my first blog hop--I am just so happy with it, I want to share it with as many people as possible!!!

1. Play Date Cafe (colors)

2. Gingersnap Creations (Thank You Notes)

3. Simon Says Stamp (ANYTHING GOES!)

4. Techno Stamper (layout--I turned it...)
And now, here it is~

And details~

And the inside~

Oh. My. Word. It took me quite a while, but it is so ridiculously fabulous and I don't even mind!!! This is my first attempt at ribbon pleating--it came out pretty good!!! I heat embossed the flower outlines, colored them in, sponged the panel, and THEN dry embossed it. I almost added glitter and rhinestones, but then I realized that pearls would be more soft and subtle...and that's what I was going for!!! What do you think?! Don't tell me if you hate it... ;D

BTW~If I get 100 followers by January 1, 2012, I am giving away a bunch of blog candy!!! Please follow me and join in the fun! :)

Well, that's all for now! :) Happy stamping!!! Feel free to join in the blog hop~

Here's what I came up with~

And some details~

What do you think? I rather like the way it turned out! And I'm sure that I know the perfect person to give it to!!! :)

I hope you take the opportunity to thank someone who's done something nice for you today--it'll brighten their day and make you feel good, too!!! It's a win-win! :) Happy thankstamping! ;D

Poppy

So, I wasn't sure that I was gonna make it this week for the Simon Says Stamp photo inspiration challenge! I had too many things going through my head and none of them worked on paper.

Here's the inspiration picture~

Anyway, then I went to a 24 hour crop at a local church here in town. And brought some papers and other things to trade. And found the most amazing paper! With a single glossy poppy on it and glossy leaves and it was just beautiful! My heart became so happy it almost jumped out of my chest! :)

So, here's what I created with that super awesome paper~

And some detail~
Isn't that beautiful?! The photos do not do it justice. The glossy flower and leaves look wet with autumn rain. So pretty!

Thanks for stopping by--I appreciate you taking a look! :) I hope you join us this week for a fabulous challenge! Happy stamping! :)

MMM Design Team Call / Simons Says BUTTONS!

Well, I have to say that I am a bit nervous about this post. Well, maybe a lot nervous! One of my absolute favorite challenge blogs, Make My Monday, has sent out a Deezine Team Call! I would absolutely L-O-V-E to be on the Deezine Team! All of the challenges are fabulous--I have been challenged to branch out of my comfort zone and have found some absolutely fabulous ideas from the other participants, including the current Deezine Team. Everyone is so very nice and friendly and I just would love to join in the fun in a different role! It would be such an honor to be chosen--it would make my day, week, month, year, life! ;D

The theme for the DT call challenge is to create a card or a project based on the theme "Celebration." Wow. Very broad. At first I thought about making a card for my niece who will be 3 this month. I made it, loved it, but thought it wasn't good enough. I'll post it later...

So, I was in a bad way. I was so worried that I wouldn't figure out what to make! And then, like a ray of lightning from heaven, it hit me. MY WEDDING ANNIVERSARY is in NOVEMBER. And I love my husband so. He is my everything! He is my reason for celebrating every day! And so, I decided to create a card for my wedding anniversary for my husband.

Now, on to the card. I used a stamp set from Technique Tuesday called "In a Word-Love". I purchased this stamp set a l-o-n-g time ago...I cannot even remember when. I think it's probably retired by now.

Anywho...here's the card~Celebration of Love~

What do you think? I took a lot of time to make sure that it turned out exactly how I imagined it. I used gold ink and gold embossing powder for the sentiment.

Here's a closer look~

I added the flowers with button centers to compliment all the colors of the framing panels of cardstock. I also wanted to offset the gold sentiment on the other side of the card with something else gold. I chose gold elastic cording.

Take a closer look~

I love glitter (Really?! You hadn't noticed?! ;D) and so I had to have it somewhere on the card. I embossed the River Rock panel with a dry embossing folder and then turned it over and filled in the recessed portions with Dazzling Diamonds glitter.

See it better here~

Well, I couldn't just stop there. There's an inside to every card! So, I decorated the inside with more gold embossing.

Here's the inside panel~

And a close up of the inside sentiment~

Yes, it says "You are my angel." My husband truly is an angel sent from heaven to save me in so many ways. I feel so incredibly blessed to be married to him--he is my heart and soul. I love him so! Happy anniversary, darling! I can't wait to see what eternity brings!

So, what are your reactions? What are your thoughts? I am happy with it. I wish I could be ecstatic with it, but I am seriously too nervous. I hope it's acceptable!

Thank you for stopping by and taking a look--I really appreciate all of you who choose to spend time here on my blog! I hope that you come and join us at Make My Monday each week for another fabulous challenge! I am the Guest Design Team Member for November and we have a fantastic challenge theme for the month! See you there! Happy crafting!!!

***I am also submitting this card into the Simon Says Stamp: Buttons Challenge.***

Alice In Wonderland

This week over at Simon Says Stamp's blog, the challenge is to be inspired by nursery rhymes and fairy tales. I hope I'm not stretchin' it too much, but I chose "Alice in Wonderland". That's fairy tale-ish, right?!

When I think of Alice in Wonderland, I think of crowns and tea parties and keys...all components to other fairy tales. With it's magical characters and imaginary lands the whole story exudes fairy tale to me! :)

Since I also have recently purchased some steampunk stamps that I would like to continue to use, but haven't had a chance to, this challenge was perfect for me! Steampunk most definitely fits with Alice in Wonderland!!!

Here's the card (I'm calling it Wonderland)~

Isn't it fun?! I love the soft colors of it with the Victorian lace trim and all the little stamps that exude the energy of Alice's adventure!

A look at the sentiments~

I like the sentiments because it makes this card multi-purposeful (yeah, I made that word up) and I can use it for anything! :) I also used them for their meanings--time flies is a reference to the fact that Alice is not wanting to grow up, but needs to; fun and play are references to SOME of the times she has in Wonderland.

Close up of some details~

Other details~

I just love how my steampunk mini stamps are eclectic enough to match the whimsy of Wonderland! It makes me happy to get them out after being away for awhile...

Thanks for stopping by and taking a quick peek at my card! :) I am so grateful for you! I hope you're inspired to come and play along with us! Happy stamping!

Spooky Blingy Christmas!

Wow, what a title, right? Well, it's appropriate for the project I have to show you tonight! I'm entering this fun wall hanging in the Simon Says Sparkle & Bling! challenge and the Wee Memories Hootin' Halloween challenge!

Well, before I show you my fabulous piece of artwork, let me tell you the story of how it came to be!

Once upon a time, I made a new friend. We had fun getting together to talk for visiting teaching while we were in the single's ward. Then, I got left the single's ward and got married. Seven years later, my awesome friend and I reconnected on Facebook and decided that we needed to craft together! We wasted no time, and got together TODAY! And we decided to make cute wall hangings for the sisters we NOW visit!

It was sooooooooooo fun! We are gonna make this a regular thing! Anywho, we wanted to make a Halloween wall hanging, but I thought it would be cool to make a wall hanging that was reversible for Christmas! Thus, our craft was born! With my basement empire and her Cricket Expression, we cranked out these beauties!

Here's the BOO side for Halloween~

And a close up of the B~

The JOY side for Christmas~

And the Y~

Okay, I admit. The ones we made were less blingy. But I cannot resist a good detail or two here or there!!! :) Unfortunately, my right pointer finger and my left thumb got a little bit burned...because I don't know about hot glue gun safety, apparently.

BUT, despite my injury, I hope you're inspired by these challenges and my little craft to create something sparkly today! Happy blinging!!! :)
