MHKDesigns: Bunny Love

It's time for a new release at MHKDesigns and the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop has been stocked with the new digital stamp set and digital paper packs!  Today we are showcasing the *NEW* Bunny Love set.  Take a peek at what I made...

I designed this set to be for Easter, but I recently used this card for Valentine's Day!  I LOVE the fun retro images in the Bunny Love set, so I used fonts for the sentiments to reflect that fun style.  This little guy was colored in with glitter gel pens from Sakura--quick and easy!

I decided to add the sentiment by printing it onto vellum first.  I then added some fun embellishments to keep with the love theme.  I also added some dry embossing to the bottom of the card as a sort of an anchor.

So, what do you think?  I adore this fun card--the color combo was perfect for the occasion, but I have another card to share soon using it with an Easter color scheme, so stay tuned!  In the mean time, please do leave me a comment below and let me know what your opinion is of this creation!

So, now that we have that out of the way, let's talk about how to get this new set OR the entire release for FREE!  Here's what you'll need to do...
  1. Comment on the MHKDesigns blog.
  2. Comment on each DT member's blog.
  3. Join our MHKDesigners and Friends Facebook group and comment there.
I'll be choosing comments randomly from all these places after the release is over, and the authors of those comments will be our winners!  So, the best way to win is to comment every day!  We LOVE the feedback you give us! :)  Here's the list of blogs for you to visit each day...

Great Impressions: Love Sentiment

Hi, friends!  It's Monday, and that means it's time for me to share some inspiration using stamps from the Great Impressions online store!  We are currently sponsoring the Aud Sentiments "Love Sentiment" challenge, so I'm sharing the card I made for that challenge with you today...

I used a *NEW* sentiment today--H280 Love & Happiness.  I LOVE how large this sentiment is, so I just stamped it onto vellum, then colored in the hearts with a red glitter gel pen for some color and shine.  I attached it to some patterned paper with staples so that you don't see the pesky adhesive line.

I decided to keep the embellishments simple, so a single paper rose (thank you, Cohenna!), a red glittery foam heart, and a few black rhinestones were added to the side. A few green leaves were used to make the flower look more real and add a POP of extra color.

I did some fun angled layering to create more of an eye catching design, and it looks exactly what I was hoping for!  I hope you like it, too!  Please leave me a comment below and let me know your thoughts!

That's all for me today, friends.  THANK YOU so much for stopping by to take a peek at my card!  I also would love for you to come and join the Aud Sentiment challenge, as well as our monthly challenge!  If you use a stamp from the Great Impressions online store, please link it up in our Customer Gallery, too!  Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping, friends! :)

Great Impressions: February Monthly Challenge: Let's Celebrate!

Hi, friends!  It's time for another monthly challenge at Great Impressions, and we are asking you to CELEBRATE!  Any card that celebrates ANYTHING goes this month.

Since it's February, love is on my mind. ;) I made a shabby chic Valentine/Anniversary card to share with you for this challenge.  Take a peek..

I stamped and heat embossed my sentiment, E859 Heart Forever Yours, on some vellum, then added some white Glaze gel pen and Stickles to the heart.

I accented the sentiment with some paper flowers (some made by the lovely Cohenna), buttons, enamel dots, and rhinestones.  I also added some black leaves to tie in the colors I was going for.

My kraft card base was prepped with some floral patterned paper that I faux stitched, and a fun layered heart doily die cut from kraft cardstock and pink glitter paper.  I LOVE the way this turned out, and I hope you do, too!  I can't wait to hear what you think in the comments below!

That's all for me today, friends.  THANK YOU so much for stopping by to take a peek at my card!  I also would love for you to come and join our monthly challenge!  If you use a stamp from the Great Impressions online store, please link it up in our Customer Gallery, too!  Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping, friends! :)

Great Impressions: It Would Stink...

Happy Monday, friends!  I'm back with another creation that uses some super fun stamps from the Great Impressions online store.  Today I'm sharing another Valentine with a cute critter and punny sentiment--SQUEE!  Take a peek...

I added different washi tape strips to the card base before adding the image and sentiment.  I stamped the image, F606 Skunk With Flowers, onto white cardstock, then colored in the flowers, eyes, and ears with Sakura glitter gel pens.  I then fussy cut him out before adding it to the card base with dimensional foam adhesive.

I stamped the sentiment, D458 It Would Stink, onto black cardstock and heat embossed it with white embossing powder.  I cut the end to look like a banner.  I added it behind the image, but with dimensional foam to keep the layered look.

The last thing to do was add some rhinestones and sequins for added texture and shine.  I think this is super darling--I hope you do, too!  Please leave me a comment below and let me know what you think!

Inspired By Stamping: Valentine Countdown

Hi, all!  I am SUPER excited for my post today!  As soon as I saw the *NEW* My Valentine's stamp set from the Inspired By Stamping store, I just KNEW that I'd need to make a Valentine countdown frame with it!  It was really a pretty quick project because the stamps do most of the work for you!  I'll narrate how I made this project, then do a recap list at the end.  Take a peek at my completed project before I take you step by step...

Isn't that just super fun?!  I went with a traditional Valentine color scheme--black, red, white, and gold for shine and elegance.  The first step in creating this project is to find a frame you want to use.  I had one that was in serious need of an upgrade.  It was more of a shadowbox type frame.

I'm not sure if you can tell or not, but there is a gold mat that was inside the frame with an oval opening.  I added some patterned paper to fill in that gap.  I then added three strips of ribbon across the frame to attach my tags.

The tags were super fun to make!  I used washi tapes, red glittery hearts, glittery chipboard arrows, gold stickers, flowers, other miscellaneous embellishments, and the My Valentine's set for the tags themselves.

To attach the tags, I utilized hair clips.  I just hot glued some flowers to the tops and then threaded them through the hole.  You could also use tiny clothespins for this.  Those were actually my first choice, but I couldn't find the ones I KNOW I have somewhere in my craft area. ;)

I am SO happy with how this project turned out!  I hope you like it, too!  I'd love for you to let me know your thoughts in the comments below!  And now, like I stated above, here's a quick list of steps to make this project:
  1. Select frame.  Add patterned paper and ribbon.
  2. Make tags using the My Valentine's set, flowers, and other desired embellishments.
  3. Make clips to hold tags in place temporarily by hot gluing flowers onto the tops of hair clips.
  4. Attach tags to frame.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, friends!  That's all I have for you today, but I'll be back soon with more inspiration using fabulous products from the Inspired By Stamping online store.  Until then, HUGS and happy stamping, friends! :)
