Inspired By Stamping: Winter Mittens

Oh, the weather outside is... Finish the line--according to YOUR area of the world! ;)  I know it isn't all cold and wintry everywhere in the world, but I've got the winter blues today here on my blog--CHRISTMAS blues, that is!  Check out my card using *NEW* products from Inspired By Stamping...

I started by stamping and heat embossing a sentiment from the Festive Greetings stamp set onto white cardstock.  I sponged over it with varying shades of blue, then added some Wink of Stella for shine.

I utilized the Rock 'n' Roll technique on the mittens--also from the Festive Greetings set.  Some glitter gel pen filled in the snowflakes on the gloves, and a few navy pearls were added.  Silver glittery snowflakes fall down the patterned paper base, also dotted with navy pearls.

I love the wintry feel that I created by keeping this card monochrome, and I hope you do, TOO!  Please leave comments below to share what you're thinking with me today. :)

That's all for me today!  Make sure to hop over and grab this fabulous stamp set today to recreate my project.  Also, don't forget to join in our monthly challenge for your chance to win some goodies, too!  Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping to you all! :)

Inspired By Stamping: Monthly IBSIC 98

Hi, all!  It's time for another monthly challenge for Inspired By Stamping, and there is some beautiful inspiration from you to choose from this month!  You can choose to be inspired by one, two, or all three of the prompts.  Check them out...

Beautiful, right?  I decided to go with the sketch and the colors.  I got a few of the elements mixed up in my brain while making this card, but I think you can still see the main sketch in my card.  Take a peek...

I created my stamped panel by stamping elements from the Friends Forever, Hexagons, and Butterflies sets. I quickly did a bit of water coloring after stamping the hexagons by just dragging some of the ink towards the center of the shapes.  The butterflies were inked using the Rock 'n' Roll technique.  The sentiment, from the Trendy Circle Sentiments set, was stamped and heat emboss onto some vellum, then punched out and added to the panel.

The last steps were to add a few rhinestones, mat the stamped panel, then add it to a card base prepped with some patterned paper.  I really love the way this card turned out!  I hope you do, too!  Please leave me a comment below and let me know what you think. :)

That's all for me today!  Make sure to hop over to the Inspired By Stamping online store to grab these fabulous products.  Also, don't forget to join in our monthly challenge for your chance to win some goodies, too!  Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping to you all! :)

Got the blues?

Ever had a case of the blues?  I've had one the past few days and I realized why--I hadn't gotten into my craft area for almost a week to create "just because"!  Well, I had to remedy that quick fast!  The end result is three cards that I am amazingly happy with--that NEVER happens!  I'll share them with you in a few posts spread out just a bit...you know, to keep you coming back! ;)  I call this first one "The Blues."

Here's "The Blues"~

Detail~

For these fabulous challenge~

IBSIC-#55

(Inspired by the ombre/color fading.)

(Focus on the sentiment.)

I've used stamps by Inspired By Stamping, patterned paper by Recollections, and all other supplies are by Stampin' Up!.  I used the "Rock 'n' Roll" technique for the sentiment to make it more of a focal point of interest.

Speaking of,  I LOVE this sentiment.  I truly believe that no matter what mistakes we've made, we can make them into a positive in our lives and create something good with them.  That's part of the great repentance process.  We're all human.  We will make mistakes.  It'll be okay as long as we learn from them.  No need to have the blues when you make a mistake--just pick yourself up, own it, ask forgiveness if needed, and do better.  It's totally easier said than done, but the more you practice it, the easier it gets!

Thanks so much for stopping by to take a peek at my card!  I do hope you like it and that you've been inspired to join in these fabulous challenges!  HUGS and happy stamping friends! :)

Cards from the weekend...

So, I don't know WHY it happens, but the end of the school year always ends up being ridiculously hectic for me!  I feel like there is NO time.  Then I'm happy for the summer break.  And I enjoy it for about 2 weeks.  And then I NEED STRUCTURE.  I crave it.  And I know I'm not going back to my job in the fall because I'm going back to school and I'm worried that won't be enough structure for me.  Oh, well.  Adapt or die, right?! ;)

But I digress...the point was that I did make a bunch of cards to share this weekend and I haven't shared a one of 'em!  So, I'm sharing!  It'll be more than one card per post, sorry.  Otherwise I miss the challenges, ya know?  This will be my CAS post...

Here's CAS take one~

For these fabulous challenges~

(Square Card, Bling, Text)

(Red & Green)

This card uses images and a sentiment from Close to My Heart and all other supplies are by Stampin' Up!.  I used the "Rock n' Roll" technique to achieve the look of the leaves.  It took 3 tries to get them ok.  I guess I'm satisfied with them...let's keep going!

CAS take two~

This card uses stamps by Close to My Heart again as well as rhinestones by Prima and all other supplies are by Stampin' Up!.  I don't know why it was hard for me to come up with stamps to go with these colors, but I think this cute set was the perfect fit!

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek at my cards!  I will be back with more either in a bit or tomorrow...hopefully! ;) HUGS and happy stamping, friends! :)
