MHKDesigns: SURPRISE, ASHA!!!

Hello, and welcome to our SURPRISE Birthday Beach Blog Hop for the lovely Asha!  You should have arrived here from Michele Henderson's blog.  Make sure to complete the entire hop, starting at MHKDesigns, for more chances to WIN!  We are celebrating a very special lady today, and we're doing so by creating beachy birthday cards to wish her many happy returns!

Here's the inspiration we are using~

I chose to use a mash up of different products from the MHKDesigns Etsy shop for my card for Asha.  I kept with the beach theme and added a birthday sentiment.  Take a peek...

The image, from the Serene Seaside digital stamp set, was colored with colored pencils.  Some glitter was added to the clouds for added texture and shine, and a few seashells and a rhinestone were added as accents in the bottom left hand corner.

I chose to use a sentiment from the Fruit Borders set for this birthday greeting card.  Asha is a beautiful person, and she deserves so much to have a beautiful day!  I printed the sentiment on vellum, then layered it over black cardstock and papers from the Serene Seaside and Autumnal Accents digital paper packs.

My kraft card base was prepped with more paper from the Serene Seaside digital paper pack, matted with black, and some cheesecloth to mimic the texture of a fishing net.  I hope that Asha approves, and I hope you do, too!  I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Asha, I hope you have an AMAZING day, my friend!  Spend time with your hubby and fur babies, eat whatever you want, do whatever you want, and remember that you are LOVED!!!  Thank you SO MUCH for all you do to help me personally and for the joy you spread throughout blog land!

Thank you so much for joining in our hop to say "Happy Birthday" to a dear friend!  Your next stop on the hop is NanaConnie's blogI hope you hop over and join the fun by linking up your own beach themed birthday card in honor of Asha!  Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping, friends! :)

MHKDesigns: Beachy Keen

Hello, all!  It's time for the June 2016 release at MHKDesigns, and there are some fabulous sets coming your way!  Today's set is super fun and summery...with a vintage twist, of course!  Take a peek at...

Isn't this image totally darling?!  She makes me super happy!  I decided to keep with the whole beach color scheme on my creation with this set.  Come and see...

I printed the image from the Beachy Keen set onto cardstock, then cut it, punched the edge, and distressed the sides.  Instead of coloring it in, I decided to just highlight the clouds with some glitter.  Some baker's twine and a button accent the punched edge.  I went with vellum for the sentiment so that more of the Serene Seaside papers could show through.  Some seashells and pearls tie it all together!

For extra texture, I distressed all the panel pieces.  I also added some cheesecloth.  This is totally summery and beachy, don't you think?!  I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below, so please do take a bit of time to leave one!

So, now that we have that out of the way, let's talk about how to get this new set OR the entire release for FREE!  Here's what you'll need to do...

Great Impressions: Fancy Pants Flamingos

Hi, friends!  I'm back today with another card using fabulous Great Impressions stamps!  Today I'm sharing a fun, summery card with you all, complete with pink flamingos!  Take a peek...

Fun, right?!  I started by heat embossing the image, G372 Flamingos in Flip Flops, in gold, then watercoloring it.  In hindsight, I think embossing in either clear or white would have been better, but it's all good. ;)  A few gems accent these three fabulous birds, pun intended. ;)

I created a faux Polaroid frame for my image with black cardstock.  Then, I heat embossed part of a sentiment from the OWH102 Missing You Set.  I added a seashell, flower, and another rhinestones for a bit more bling and to help anchor the focal panel.

Some fun papers, ribbon, and punched chevron arrows completed this card.  I love the way it turned out!  What do you think?  I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

That's all for me today, friends.  THANK YOU so much for stopping by to take a peek at my card!  I also would love for you to come and join our monthly challenge!  If you use a stamp from the Great Impressions online store, please link it up in our Customer Gallery, too!  Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping, friends! :)

Great Impressions: A Fish Bowl

Hello, all!  I'm back with another creation that uses stamps from the Great Impressions online store!  This week, the design team is featuring tutorials that have been shared on the Great Impressions blog.  I chose to make a shaped easel card.  Come and take a peek...

I decided to create a fun fish bowl card using G421 Bubble Fish as my image.  I stamped it, colored it in with glitter gel pens, then added it to the front of the easel using Glossy Accents, reinkers, and Stickles.  I then added some seashells and pearls to create a "sea floor".

I chose E767 Bubble Over as my sentiment because I LOVE LOVE LOVE a good pun!  This sentiment just seemed to be perfect!  It's even circular in shape, like the fish bowl easel!

I super duper LOVE the way this card turned out!  It turned out better than I expected, actually!  What do you think?  Love or hate?  I'm excited to find out, so please leave a comment below! :)

I'm entering this card into these fabulous challenges~

That's all for me today!  I'll be back next soon with another creation using stamps from the Great Impressions store.  I hope you join in our current challenge, and, if you use Great Impressions stamps, link them up in our Customer Gallery, too!  HUGS and happy stamping to you all!
