NEW! :)

Well. I have something unusual here for you tonight. A lot of you know that my DH and I have been trying to have a baby for about 7 years now to no avail, and so I tend to avoid baby showers. So, this card was a little hard for me to make. That's right! It's a baby shower card! And, no. I'm not going to have a baby. :) And, no. I'm not going to a shower--just sending this in the mail.

Here's the card~

Details~

I'm gonna keep it short and sweet as I am swamped right now with other things I need to do! I created the background panel with both heat and dry embossing then adding the elements on top and finished with glitter bling! :)

Hope you come and join along with the following challenges I'm entering this card into~

Papertake Weekly: Anything goes with the option of NEW theme (new to me card type + new in the sentiment)

Wee Memories: NEW (ditto from above)
Creatalicious: Purple, green, pink & white (FABULOUS for this card--love it!)

"Owl" be thinking of you.... ;)

Good Saturday, gentle blogging friends! :) It's been a few days--I've been spending a lot of time with family and friends for the Thanksgiving holiday. I hope that your holiday was as wonderful as mine was!

By the way, if I get 100 followers by January 1, 2012, I will be having a huge goodie give away! I purchased some of the things I'll be giving away during the sales yesterday. Just saying... :)

Well, I have not been crafting for my challenges quite as much as I'd like, but I did manage to create something for the Wee Memories Woodland Creatures challenge AND using the colors from the current CR84FN color challenge! :)

I was commissioned to make a card for a friend of a friends birthday...did that make sense? I'll put it another way--a friend of mine has another (non-mutual) friend who is having a birthday soon. And she likes owls. And I have owl stamps and like to create cards. So, my friend asked me to make a card for her friend. Whew...

Anyway, it fits perfectly into this challenge--because owls are literally woodland creatures!!! And owls literally live in brown, tan, and green surroundings! ;D

Here is the card~

And the details~

Stamps are from Stampin' Up! and Bo Bunny, ink from SU!, paper from Basic Grey and American Crafts, punches by SU!, rhinestones from Basic Grey

What are your thoughts and feelings towards my creation? I am quite pleased with how it turned out! :) I am completely unsure as to WHY I am writing so politely and formally, but I have tried to rewrite this post to no avail....UGH! Happy birthday stamping! :)

TAGS--I don't usually make them, but this year...

Well, hello there! :) Glad you could make it to my corner of blogland this fine evening! Hope you're not freezing like I am! It's not even that cold...I just am! BUT that means that the holiday season is upon us here in Kansas and so I am not that sad about it. :)

So, what does that have to do with anything? Nothing much, I just wanted to say it to someone! Or write it to someone...same thing!

Okay, now that I've had my little ADD moment, back to the real point of this post--TAGS!!!

I don't usually make tags for Christmas, birthday, Valentine's day, etc. presents, but this year I've found quite a few challenges to make tags and so I'm doing it! I've made 5...that's 5 more than last year! And the latest 3 are what this post is about! I'm gonna enter them into these challenges: Wee Memories and The Pink Elephant.

Here are my latest 3~

You can't really see them that well, so here are closer pics and pics of the details...

Tag 1~

Tag 2~

Tag 3~

What are your thoughts? I like them...but I'm not entirely thrilled with them. I do like the third one the best. The circle thought was to try to make them look kinda like ornaments. I don't know that I achieved that. But, they're pretty! And they have glitter and dry embossing--two of my faves! :) So, I'll be happy with them. :)

Hope you can come and play with us this week over at these two fabulous challenges--it's a lot of fun and you'll be sure to find some beautiful inspiration! Happy tagging!!! :)

Life is Good!

I have to tell you, I am feeling pretty good today! I have been given some super awesome blog honors lately! I was asked to be the November Make My Monday Guest Design Team Member, I was awarded the Versatile Blogger Award, AND the Butterfly Award! Thank you to all of you who have chosen to care for me and my blog--you totally rock my world!

SOOOOOO....in honor of all these honors (is that redundant?!), I have created a card to show off my feelings! :) There will be lots of bling. Because when I'm in a good mood, I get out the bling! Oh, and lots of glitter. Yes...I had a GRI.

Okay, I am gonna show you the card...in a bit! First, I want to tell you what fabulous challenges I will be posting to! :)

My colors are completely the doing of CR84FN!
Look at this gorgeous inspiration~

The other challenge I'd like to post to is Wee Memories: Brads, Buttons, or Bows~

Both are simply fabulous challenge blogs--look them up and come play along with us!!!

Okay, now my card~

Did you notice all that bling?!~

And the sentiment?~

So, whadya think?! I have to say, I love it! My DH said it was one of his favorites, which always brings a smile to my face! Thank you--all of you--for stopping by! I really appreciate the time you've taken to stop by my little blog! I hope you've been inspired to create today! LIFE IS GOOD!!! Embrace it! Happy creating!!!

Double Doozy

Hello, friends! I'm so very tired tonight as I have been teaching an early morning bible study class the past week for the youth of my church. I get to be up at quarter to five in the morning. It's dark and early! ;D BUT--it is so worth it!

Anyway, because of that, I am going to have to double up on a challenge. I am strapped for time! :) BUT--I have three cards for you and only one is the doubled up card. :)

The two challenges I'd like to enter my first card into are:

Here it is (I call is Autumn Inchies Postage)~

I love the postage card feel of this card! :) It was easy to create with my Stampin' Up! scallop square punch. You can't really see the glitter on the sentiment in this image, soooooooo

Here's a better one (not by much, I'm afraid)~

The squares of "stamp" were easy to create--I just stamped leaf images onto a 3"x3" paper, spritzed it with my color spritzer tool and then cut them into 1"x 1" pieces. Piece of cake...or maybe pumpkin pie. ;D

The next two cards are specifically for Make My Monday.

Card 2 (Trio Autumn Inchies)~

A close up of the details (just a bit of bling added)~

This is my CAS and Gratitude Challenge card for this post. :) I love CAS style and for more info on the Gratitude Challenge and some AMAZING examples of CAS in use, visit LateBlossoms awesome blog: Simplicity. She's a-ma-zing!

And Card 3 (Autumn Inchies Forest)~

Details~

Sentiment~

Yep. That's patterned paper! I had a small scrap of one of my favorite patterned papers left over from something else and felt it looked autumnal! :) I added the bling because...bling is awesome! :)

So, there are my three cards for tonight! I hope to be back again this week, but I cannot promise anything. Quarter to five comes so incredibly early! I hope you play along with us on these fab challenges! Happy inching! ;D

Spooky Blingy Christmas!

Wow, what a title, right? Well, it's appropriate for the project I have to show you tonight! I'm entering this fun wall hanging in the Simon Says Sparkle & Bling! challenge and the Wee Memories Hootin' Halloween challenge!

Well, before I show you my fabulous piece of artwork, let me tell you the story of how it came to be!

Once upon a time, I made a new friend. We had fun getting together to talk for visiting teaching while we were in the single's ward. Then, I got left the single's ward and got married. Seven years later, my awesome friend and I reconnected on Facebook and decided that we needed to craft together! We wasted no time, and got together TODAY! And we decided to make cute wall hangings for the sisters we NOW visit!

It was sooooooooooo fun! We are gonna make this a regular thing! Anywho, we wanted to make a Halloween wall hanging, but I thought it would be cool to make a wall hanging that was reversible for Christmas! Thus, our craft was born! With my basement empire and her Cricket Expression, we cranked out these beauties!

Here's the BOO side for Halloween~

And a close up of the B~

The JOY side for Christmas~

And the Y~

Okay, I admit. The ones we made were less blingy. But I cannot resist a good detail or two here or there!!! :) Unfortunately, my right pointer finger and my left thumb got a little bit burned...because I don't know about hot glue gun safety, apparently.

BUT, despite my injury, I hope you're inspired by these challenges and my little craft to create something sparkly today! Happy blinging!!! :)

Pumpkins & Gratitude

Wow. I do NOT have a lot of time this week. Soooo...I have to combine challenges. Which I don't do a whole lot. BUT, these challenges just fit really well together, so it must be fate!

So, here are the challenges I'm submitting this card into:

These are all FABULOUS challenges, so I hope you get a chance to join us each week!

Now to the card! I knew that the colors from CR84FN screamed fall, and I'm in LOVE with a new pumpkin image that I recently bought, so I knew that I'd be doing a fall card. And fall to me means gratitude.

Hence the sentiment~

Now, I LOVE doing resist techniques, so it was appropriate to combine Wee Memories with Make My Monday. And the pumpkin needed to be embossed and then colored with a resist technique. So that's what I did!

See?~

And then I saw the JUGS sketch. And my card was put together!

Oh, you wanna see the finished product?!

Ok!

Here it is~

This is another card I'm using for the Gratitude Project. Click on the button on the top left of my blog for more info. :) Happy stamping!

One Layer Wonders?

So. One layer cards are a relatively new thing for me. I LOVE them, they just are a bit challenging for me! So, when my FAVORITE one layer challenge, OLW, returned and then I saw the One Layer Projects challenge over at Wee Memories, I knew it was time for me to return to my new pastime! The OLW challenge this week was coloring--use a line image and color it in any way you want. I used that as the basis for my two cards.

Here is the first~

I punched out a strip of scallop edge and sponged the edges for the frames in these cards. Not sure if this technique is already named, but I'm dubbing it sponge masking...I'll come up with something better later...unless you have the real name for it? I then stamped and colored in the images with blender pens and then added dimension with a glitter gel pen.

Closer look of the glittery leaves~

And here's the second card--I LOVE this one better. It's just prettier in my opinion. I made the first one with the leaves since fall is coming...but I LOVE this poppy image.

Poppy PRETTINESS~

Detail~

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my creations! I love having you here! Happy stamping!
