CAS-ual Friday #19: Falling to Pieces

Hooray for fall! Hooray for paper piecing! Hooray for CAS-ual Friday combining the two!

This week's challenge was really fun--it also gave me an excuse to break out my Halloween stamps and use up some of my patterned paper scraps!!!

Here's the card~

I even paper pieced the sentiment! :)

Here's a closer look~

SomuchfunIcouldbarelystandit!

Yes.

I did go there.

All the words as one because I DO talk that much...and that quickly. Sowhat?!

Anyway, my DH said it was the best Halloween card I'd ever made. *AWW* I'm so lucky!

Thanks, ladies, for a great challenge! Thank YOU for stopping by and taking a peek! I hope you break our your crafting supplies and create a fall something today! Happy crafting! :)

MMM #14- Steampunk ATCs

WOW. I have never in my life even thought of attempting to use steampunk. I've thought it was a neat idea, but I never thought I'd ever do anything in that style. Until Make My Monday decided to use it as their monthly theme! So, off to my local stamping shop I skipped and bought me some Victorian/steampunk style stamps.

And then I got busy.

And had fun.

Lots of fun...and made 3 ATCs.

I'm so happy with the results!!!

Without further ado, here are my 3 submissions for this week's challenge: Steampunk ATCs (ATC: artist trading card, 3.5"x2.5", any medium, usually shows off a technique)

Card 1 "Time Flies"~

Card 2 "Welcome"~

Card 3 "Timeless"~

Thanks, ladies, for another fun challenge that got me out of my comfort zone! I can't wait for next week!!! :) Happy steampunking!

OLW #63: Baby Cards

I'm keepin' it short and sweet and simple. Like my cards! OLW this week is baby themed. Here are my traditionally colored baby cards:

Blue for boy~

Pink for girl~

I personally HATE (no, that's not too strong of a word--I do HATE) blue for baby boys and pink for baby girls. I'm a strange person. You can ask anyone close to me. My foster babies RARELY wore blue and pink. I LOVE purple for girls and green for boys. So, here are my personal favorites!

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you take the chance to play along with One Layer Wednesday! :) Happy stamping!

Wee Memories #66: Simply Sentiment

WOW. This was really hard for me! I love my image stamps, so when I saw that the challenge over at Wee Memories this week was to create a card where the SENTIMENT was the focal point, I knew I'd have to think about what in the heck to do!

So, I scavenged my stamp locker (that's what I'm now calling my large metal cabinet that houses my precious stamps) and found a set that was ONLY words (did you know I only have a handful of these?!) and since I have probably used it a total of 4 times, I decided to use it! Why did I buy it if I never use it?! Anyway....

Here is the card~

Here's a closeup of the sentiment~

And a closeup of the glittery heart I added as an after thought to the middle of the "o"~

I figured this card has many uses that I could assign to it--bridal shower, wedding card, engagement congrats, retirement card, I FINALLY GOT PREGNANT card (yeah, 7 years trying and still no luck, so you KNOW I'll be sending these out!), anything under the sun, really.

But not a sympathy card. Well, if the person was not so nice and you were glad...no. That's so mean! Sorry I went there.

But I did. And I'm bad. Because I giggled to myself when I wrote it...

Anyway, TMI, probably! Anyway, I hope you enjoyed this little card! I had tons of fun creating it! I hope it inspires you to be happy and to create today! Happy stamping!!!

Color Throwdown #157: Marina Mist, Crumb Cake, Bravo Burgundy, Lucky Limeade

So...I do not have a lot to say today...I'm too tired! This three day weekend thing gets me all excited and then I crash. Not a good cycle...maybe if EVERY weekend was three days I'd get used to it. ;D Anyway, I am submitting this little card to this weeks Color Throwdown challenge. :)

Here it is~

A close up of the sentiment (SWEET!)~

A close up of the detail on the butterflies~

Isn't this such a gorgeous color combo? I think it's very elegant and I will be using it in the future! I hope that my little butterflies inspire you to create something new today--or to fly free today! Whichever you need! Happy crafting/flying! :)

Black & White and Read All Over

Hello, stamper AND reader friends! I hope all my friends here in the USA and in Canada are having a relaxing Labor Day holiday! I have been stampin' up a storm today! So, without further ado, I present the two challenges I am submitting these cards to: CAS-ual Friday & The Play Date Cafe!!!

I was SO excited to get to make cards that were black and white with a splash of red for this PDC challenge and when CAS-ual Fridays threw in the book inspiration thing, I was totally excited! So, I have made three cards. Because I read. A LOT. And this was REALLY fun!

The first card that I made was inspired by the Grimm fairy tale of Snow White and Rose Red.

Here it is~

I stamped the wild rose image in Real Red and then added Dazzling Diamonds glitter to them as "snow". I like the sentiment because Snow White and Rose Red loved many things and therefore had a full life.

My second card is inspired by a contemporary work of adult fiction entitled "The Wednesday Letters" by Jason F. Wright.

Here it is~

In this book, children return home to take care of the family house and possessions after their parents pass away to discover that their parents wrote each other a letter every Wednesday. And the letters hold a secret that their parents kept from them. That's all I'm telling you! I added the dazzling diamonds glitter to the hearts on this card. :)

My third and final card is inspired by the classic novel "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee.

Here is is~

This book is one of my absolute favorite books of all time. I chose then sentiment because Atticus Finch states in the book that, "[Other people in this town are] certainly entitled to think that, and they're entitled to full respect for their opinions... but before I can live with other folks I've got to live with myself. The one thing that doesn't abide by majority rule is a person's conscience."

Thanks, ladies for two fabulous challenges--I thoroughly enjoyed them!!! :) I hope my little post has inspired you to either create or read today! Happy stamping and happy reading!
