Valentine Candles

L'amour. Yep, 'tis the season! ;) Did you notice my new blog decor? Isn't it darling! KISSES! And an adorable owl! So lovey dovey! ;)

Anyway, I'm so excited to show you the project I've made today! I've been contemplating taking down our Christmas decorations (it will happen soon...maybe), but before I do, I needed to create some Valentine's decor! I received some gorgeous Victorian paper and some pillar candles for Christmas, and recently won some gorgeous flowers and velvety leaves from a blog candy give away. I used all of these to create some beautiful home decor!

Here are the set of candles I've made~

Details~

Didn't they turn out stunningly?! I'm so very proud of them! I used Christmas gifts to make them--candles and all! It's all new to me! :) I used two different patterned papers, some large blooms, velvet leaves, designer brads, and homemade glimmer mist.

I have a TIP about glimmer mist. Lay down a sheet of tissue paper and lay whatever you're spraying on top of it and then you can use the glimmered tissue paper for other projects. :)

Because I'm so very proud of these, I'm linking it to the following challenges~
Pile It On~Anything goes
Pink Elephant~Anything goes
Top Tip Tuesday~Anything goes
Gingersnaps~Use wax (candle)
For Your Inspiration~Cathedral photo (they use candles there, right? Also inspired by the colors)

52 CCT Sketch Challenge #1

Good morning, blogging friends! I'm here to show you the card I've made using the sketch over at my new co-authored challenge blog, 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown! :) I am authoring this month, so you'll have to put up with my ramblings for four weeks--sorry! ;D

Just so you know, we're on a rotating schedule--1st week sketch, 2nd week color challenge, 3rd week theme, 4th week embellishments, and if there's a 5th week it's ANYTHING GOES! :)

Here's the sketch we're using this week~

And my first card~

And details~

I LOVE using this holly stamp to paper piece with--and I have this perfect fern paper for the leaves that I've used a couple of times. LOVE it each time I do it!!! What do you think? I have a friend who has someone each year that she gives a Holly Jolly card to, and so this is the one for 2012--look how ahead I am! ;) OH, and this is the first card that I used my Big Shot and Nestabilities dies to make!!! Merry Christmas to ME! :)

Here's my second card~

Details~

This one is fun because I decided to free cut the sentiment out--and it actually looks decent! :) I added some rhinestones for bling again, and used a pennant for my side panel instead of just some paper strips.

I hope you'll come play along with us--it's so much fun and you'll definitely be ready for Christmas card sending if you do! Don't forget to pop on over to Jacqueline's blog to see her creation and say hi to her, too! Merry stamping! :)

NEW! :)

Well. I have something unusual here for you tonight. A lot of you know that my DH and I have been trying to have a baby for about 7 years now to no avail, and so I tend to avoid baby showers. So, this card was a little hard for me to make. That's right! It's a baby shower card! And, no. I'm not going to have a baby. :) And, no. I'm not going to a shower--just sending this in the mail.

Here's the card~

Details~

I'm gonna keep it short and sweet as I am swamped right now with other things I need to do! I created the background panel with both heat and dry embossing then adding the elements on top and finished with glitter bling! :)

Hope you come and join along with the following challenges I'm entering this card into~

Papertake Weekly: Anything goes with the option of NEW theme (new to me card type + new in the sentiment)

Wee Memories: NEW (ditto from above)
Creatalicious: Purple, green, pink & white (FABULOUS for this card--love it!)

Softly Said

Hello! We've been having strange weather here in KS. It was 65* today! What is up with that?! It's the middle of winter and January for crying out loud! So, since it's apparently no longer winter, I've got a soft and springlike card for you all tonight!

Here it is~

And details~

I've used a new stamp set from Pink Paislee's Nantucket collection for the main flower image. Isn't is GORGEOUS?! I also used one of my favorite techniques--double embossing. I used it on the sentiment. I heat embossed the sentiment and then dry embossed the sentiment panel. So much fun! What do you think? I really think it turned out beautifully. :)

I hope my little creation inspires you to create something fabulous today! Pop on over to the challenges I've entered in order to play along--you will have so much fun! :) Happy stamping!!!

I'm entering this little gem into the following challenges~
Stampalot Challenges: Monochromatic
Try it on Tuesday: All Your Own Work
Gingersnap Creations GC132: Soft yellows and white
Simon Says Stamp: Something new (NEW stamp--yeah!!!)

WOW...WYOWW 135 and More

Yeah. I've decided to participate in What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday. It's something I've been toying with in my brain, but was always ashamed of the state of my desk. But I've gotten over it. And the picture I have for you is NOT pretty. Yep. I totally had to clean it up a bit in order to make the card I have for you tonight...WOW.

Here's my desk~

I know. Scary. Ugh. I'm hoping you won't hold it against me. I'm so incredibly messy when I create, but I HATE seeing spaces that could hold something...even scraps of paper, so I tend to create piles. ;) Do, please don't judge me! Love me for what I am!

In other news, I've found a fabulous blog (Twins Moms) that has some wonderful candy once it reaches 200 followers!!!

Here's what you'll get~

I've added the button to my sidebar, too, for quick clicking success! :) Go on over and follow her!

Okay, now here's the card I have for you tonight~

And some details~

I tried to show the shimmer of the chandelier--I embossed the dark blue with Kaleidoscope embossing powder and so it's gorgeous! :) The image I used as my chandelier isn't a chandelier stamp, I just turned it into one because it totally looks like it could be one! Just needed to add the shine and bling!

Can I just say, I LOVE this card--it turned out better than I thought it would, which always makes me happy! :) I hope you like it, too! I hope you're inspired to follow along with the challenges I'm submitting this beauty into.

I'm submitting this card into the following fabulous challenges~

CR84FN45: Medium blue, orange, and yellow (GORGEOUS colors!)
Gingersnap GC131: Candelabras, Candles, & Chandeliers (I chose chandelier)
Fashionable Stamping Challenge #12: Anything goes using NEW stuff from the holiday (I got the bling and the ribbon for Christmas, plus the dry embossing folder I used and the patterned card back.)
Pile It On #1 of 2012: Anything goes! (I wanted to show off my card!!!)

L-O-V-E

Love, love, love. Love, love, love. All you need is love! :) Yep, it's the time of the year when we all Linkstart thinking of l'amour, you know, good old fashioned LURVE. :) Luckily, the current challenge over at Less is More is to use one word on your CAS style card. I'm happy with the way my card turned out!!! Can you guess what word I chose? ;D

Here it is~

A closer look~

I L-O-V-E the way it turned out. ;) And I've missed doing some good old fashioned CAS cards lately. And I LOVE the white on white. Incidentally, I will be entering this into the Top Tip Tuesday challenge (anything goes) as well and I have a tip in regards to white on white!

TIP: If you want to have a lot of dimension when choosing a white on white theme, try dry embossing one or more of the white panels and leaving your main one flat. This gives more dimension to your fabulous white space! :)

I'm also entering this little gem into the DYSU color challenge and The Pink Elephant anything goes challenge, as well. I haven't been entering many challenges and have missed you all! I hope you come and play along with these fabulous challenges! Happy stamping!!! :)

Make My Monday: Birds

Hello, and welcome to Make My Monday's first 2012 challenge--Birds! This month's theme is nature, and this week we want to see us some birdies! :) So get out your stamps, ink, and paper and show us what you've got!!!

Here's my card~

And details~

I've masked off a section of the image panel and sponged in green grass and blue sky and then I stamped the birds, stamped them again and embossed them, cut them out and popped them over the original stamped image. Did that make sense? I hope so! ;) I added glittery wings and some rhinestone bling to complete my little tweet trio! (Pun intended!!!) For my sentiment, I went for something that was versatile so I could use it at a moment's notice. What do you think?

Won't you pop over and see the other fabulous DT creations? You won't be disappointed--the entire Deezine Team is amazingly talented! I hope you'll join in the fun, too! :) Happy stamping!!!
