Okay, so now that you know where I got the layout idea from, let me tell you about the fabulous challenges that I'll be entering this into--as they're the other inspiration for the card! Over at Colour Q, the colors this time are Early Espresso, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Lucky Limeade, and white. Over at Stampin' Royalty, they've challenged us to create a card with NO EMBELLISHMENTS. BE STILL MY HEART. This was a hugely challenging challenge for me--I love my rhinestones! ;) But, I did it! Paper and ink only, friends! The final inspiration was the Alter it With a Mosaic Challenge over at Try It On Tuesday. This is a very simple take on a mosaic, and I'll try to get something else in that is a little more challenging. :)
Also, I received my first commission to create cards for a co-worker of mine. She requested 5 sympathy cards. So, that's what you'll be seeing for a bit to come. :) I used sentiments on most of them that could be for sympathy or just for thinking of you in case she changes her mind, but this isn't one of them. Definitely a sympathy card.
Here's the card~

So, what do you think? I like the way it turned out--the blocks of color look really good contrasted against the whole lot of white!
I may create something else with these colors...probably with some bling. ;) Thanks to the ladies of these two fabulous challenges, and thanks to Bonnie for her inspirational cards! I hope you've been inspired to create something today! Happy stamping! :)

ReplyDeleteHi Mynette that is so beautiful! Thank you very much for the lovely comments on my blog. Don't worry about finding the name of the SU stamp sets as I've checked my UK catalogue and there is nothing like that design in there.
