Play time!

Well, it's my fourth snow day and my fourth day off of work.  I was able to do some "just for fun" crafting yesterday only to find I had internet issues!  Oh, well!  I got another day off just so I could show you these cards! :)  I've made 4 but I won't show them all in the same post.

Here's the first card~

Details~

For these fabulous challenges~

I used sentiment stamps by Inspired by Stamping, silver embossing powder by Stampendous!, bubble wrap (yep--that's how I got those polka dots!), and all other supplies are by Stampin' Up!.

I'd seen some cards that Virginia Lu made (HERE, HERE, and HERE) with bubble wrap and have been wanting to experiment with this technique.  It is SO fun and the texture it creates is amazing!  All you have to do is be careful not to puncture the bubbles as you cut out the desired shape.  And you can keep your shapes and just clean them off!  I inked them with stamp pads but perhaps you'd get better coverage with markers.  I liked the iffy way the ink pads stamped, though. :)

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek!  I hope you have found some inspiration to create something new today!  I also hope that you come and play along with these fabulous challenges!  HUGS and happy stamping! :)

  1. Love this card - so pretty and the colours are so warm and springlike! Love that sentiment too!

You've had so much snow - the storm is now heading our way, but somehow I don't think we'll get as much snow as you've had. Kathryn is hoping for a snow day tomorrow ;)

  4. I have to admit, this is the first time I've heard of using bubble wrap to create inking effects on a card. You are so clever. Or maybe you just need more snow days to come up with clever ideas and beautiful cards. I love the sentiment on your card. Just the message I needed to see today. I'm so forturate to have visited your blog today. Thank you for visiting ours and joining in the Cards in Envy challenge.
