Ho ho ho! It's December! The holidays are just around the corner and we've got the perfect challenge for them over at Paper Sweeties!!! Take a look at our theme for this month...
Isn't that absolutely darling?! Nothing says the holidays like food...well, at least at our house! So, for my projects this month, I made some fun food wrappings! Come and see!
I started the pudding pouch by cutting out some green cardstock and stamping the snowflake image from the Homemade With Love stamp set in the same green for a subtle tone on tone effect. I then added a band of punched silver glitter paper and added some red stitched ribbons and some Strawberry sequins.
Next, I created a little tag to add to the pouch. I punched out a scallop circle from the same silver glitter paper and then stamped the Christmas pudding image from the Homemade With Love set onto white card. I punched that out and then paper pieced it and added some glitter to the "frosting" for some added shine. Liquid pearls accent the scallops.
The back of the tag was layered with some patterned paper and a sentiment stamped from the Homemade With Love set. Some red glitter gel pen accents the heart in the word "love". The tag was then tied to the pouch.
The final pouch could be used for a few holiday cookies or candies. It's destined to be handed out to a neighbor or friend this holiday season! :)
The next creation is a little gingerbread box. I started this creation but cutting out the red box and adding some green glitter paper. I added a sentiment from the Happy Holidays stamp set onto some brown card and punched it out and set it aside while I worked on the focal point--a darling gingerbread cookie!
This guy is from the Ho Ho Ho stamp set. He was stamped in dark brown on medium brown cardstock. I then used a chalk marker to color over his accents and, after it was dried, I colored over them with glitter gel pen. Then my little cookie was layered onto some punched glitter paper pieces and accented with some liquid pearls.
After adding him to the box, I added a few rhinestones, liquid pearl drops, and some Silver sequins for a bit of extra shine and shimmer. And, the box was done! This is perfect for a few treats for someone special--that's what will happen!
That's all for me, friends! I hope you come and join the fun at the Paper Sweeties blog, and don't forget to check out what the rest of the design team--including our guest for this month--has created!
