House of Cards: Stitch It Up

Hi, friends!  It's time for another challenge at House of Cards!  A big shout out to everyone who took on our metallic challenge--your creations BLEW me away!  This month, we are asking you to...

That's right!  Anything with stitching goes!  We cannot wait to see all the different variations you all come up with!  I decided to go back to a technique I accidentally "invented" (it was new to me) about 6 months ago called Stitched Stamping.  Check out my card...

The Stitched Stamping is in the flowers.  It's a technique that uses line images and pens/markers to make the image look like it's been stitched.  You know, like they stitch fabric shapes onto quilts and such sometimes?  These flowers and leaves are from the Fabulous Florets stamp set from Stampin' Up!.

I added some more faux stitching to the top corner to balance out my design.  I went over the black pen with a glitter gel pen for a bit more texture and shine.

The sentiment was stamped onto vellum with Staz-On ink.  It comes from the "Let Your Dreams Bloom" stamp set from Unity.  This set was designed by our very own Gracie!!! :)

Some glitter and patterned papers and a bit of bling were all that I needed to finish this off.  I just LOVE the way it turned out!  I was a bit concerned about trying out this technique on patterned paper and not coloring the images in, but it totally works! I hope you agree, too!  Let me know in the comments below. :)

THANK YOU for stopping by today!  That's all for me right now, friends!  Come join the fun with us at House of Cards this month--I always LOVE seeing what you create for us!  Don't forget to take a peek at what the other gals on this amazing team have for you this month, too!  Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping to you all! :)

  11. Mynn, I watched your video and I must say you always exceed my high regard for your talent and teaching skill. This flower took me on a trip down memory lane using blanket stitch to mend or bind a new item. This is such a pretty image and the layout/layering of the card is lovely. Blessings and a hug Carole
