In Honor of Bill Blog Hop

Hello, friends. Today I am sharing a very special post to honor the lives of family members of blogging friends who have recently passed away. My dear and long standing, blog friend, Sue, lost her brother, Bill, to esophageal cancer last week. In addition to this sad loss, three other friends, Em, Nandini and Mary Ellen, have also recently had losses. Em lost a long-time and dear family friend suddenly, Nandini lost an aunt-in-law and Mary Ellen also lost her brother in January. Ladies, you are in my thoughts and prayers!

I have created a paper pieced card to share with you for this hop. It has a blue/periwinkle theme, as periwinkle is the color of esophageal cancer awareness. After photographing it, I feel it's more blue, but I did try to find the periwinkle. Here is the card...

I used three different patterned papers from my stash, all from Stampin' Up!, a floral stamp set from Spellbinders, and a sentiment from a retired Stampin' Up! stamp set. I also used some pearls from my stash and white liquid pearls to accent the punched scallop border of the focal panel. I do think this turned out lovely, and I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Here is the list of participants, linked to their blogs:

Thank you so much for stopping by today, friends. Please do visit Sue, EmNandini, and Mary Ellen to leave some love as they mourn the loss of loved ones. If you have time, please complete the hop and leave some love with the other participants, as well. Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping, dear friends!

Christmas 24: Make a Scene

Hello, friends! I am SO excited to be sharing another card created for the *NEWEST* holiday card challenge, Christmas 24! If you follow along, you will have 24 cards made before the Christmas holiday each year! Challenges are biweekly on the 1st and 15th of the month, and this time's challenge is MAKE A SCENE: CREATE A HOLIDAY SCENE.  Take a peek at my creation...

I used some fun mountain and tree dies from Darice/Consumer Crafts on this creation. I highlighted these die cuts with Sakura gel pens. I did some sponging for a turquoise sky using ink from Stampin' Up! and added a sentiment from an unknown stamp set, punched with Stampin' Up! punches. I love this scene!

I backed the focal panel with paper from Stampin' Up!. All cardstock is from The Stamps of Life. I adore this clean and layered creation! What do you think? I would love to hear in the comments below!

Hearts & Flowers Video Hop: DIY Dollar Tree Holiday Decor!

Hi, friends! Happy Valentine's Day!!! I am super excited to be joining the amazing Hearts & Flowers Video Hop today! We will all be sharing some video tutorials on how to create things with hearts and/or flowers, and I chose to use some Dollar Tree items to upcycle and create my own home decor!

 Here's the Valentine's Day decor I created~

This project was very quick and simple to create. I painted the sides with black paint, Mod Podged patterned paper onto the front, then added heart accents from Dollar Tree! In my video, I give more details about this project AND create an Easter themed piece of the same size! If you'd like to take that journey with me and see the final product, please click HERE to get to the video on my YouTube channel!

There are prizes on some of the videos, so I hope you take the time to visit each stop! For the full list, please visit Monica's blog HERE! Thanks for stopping by today, and I hope you have a wonderful day filled with love--because you ARE loved! Until next time, HUGS and happy crafting, friends!

Washi Tape Series #6: Puppy Love

Hi, friends! I'm here today with a darling, dog-themed Valentine! Our fur baby has not been doing well, and my husband has been so amazing, taking time off work to pick up her medication and going with her and me to the vet. So, I had to make a card to him from her and I! Here's the card...

The patterned paper is from my stash--I'm trying to use my stash up, and it's slow going. ;) The stamp set is new from Recollections (Michael's) and I bought it specifically for Valentine's Day and other occasions where we celebrate my husband so our fur girl can share her love, too! Some washi tape from Doodlebug Design and black pearls accent the scene, along with a fun punched and layered sentiment.

I love this card so much, and I hope my hubby does, too! What do you think? I would love to hear from you in the comments below!

Christmas 24: Embossing

Hello, friends! I am SO excited to be sharing another card created for the *NEWEST* holiday card challenge, Christmas 24! If you follow along, you will have 24 cards made before the Christmas holiday each year! Challenges are biweekly on the 1st and 15th of the month, and this time's challenge is EMBOSSING: HEAT OR DRY.  Take a peek at my creation...

I used an older stamp set from Hero Arts for the stamped image. I added highlights to the wreath image with Sakura glitter gel pens. I also added some texture by roughing up the edges of the white part of my focal panel.

For the bottom of my focal panel, I added some twine I recently purchased from The Dollar Tree, some punched leaves (punch by Stampin' Up!) that were also highlighted with gel pen, a paper flower from my stash, and a few enamel dots from The Stamps of Life.

The embossing folder I used is by Darice and was purchased from Consumer Crafts. I love the way it frames my focal panel with a lovely floral feel! I truly adore the way this simply card turned out! What do you think? Please leave me a comment below to let me know your thoughts!

TRCC #14: Fiercely Fuchsia

Hi, all! Happy February! I am so excited for the upcoming Valentine holiday, and I think my card today will show thatThis month's challenge is called Fiercely Fuchsia! I went for all shades of pink with roses being my inspiration. Take a peek at our beautiful inspiration for this month...

SO much inspiration there, don't you agree? I LOVE it! I used a Hampton Art layering stamp set to create my rose border. Here's what I came up with...

I chose to use two different colors of glitter paper from my stash for my base and to frame my focal panel. I used three colors of ink from The Stamps of Life and one from Stampin' Up! to stamp my roses. Some Diamond Stickles glitter add some shine, and enamel hearts and a doily from Doodlebug Design lend more to the romantic feel.

I totally love how this card turned out! The layering with a shabby chic feel is one of my favorite styles! I would love to hear your opinion about it in the comments below!
