T-Slider Card

I tried a new technique tonight--a T-slider card! It is so much fun to make! It's pretty easy, too. Check out my picture and then try to make one for yourself! Below are the instructions.

Materials:

• Paper cutter with scoring blade


• Craft knife with cutting mat


• Sticky Strip™ or other strong adhesive


• 5 1/4" square of cardstock, or heavy patterned paper (card base)


• 5" square of cardstock, or heavy patterned paper (card front)


• 3 1/2" x 1 1/4" piece of cardstock, or heavy patterned paper (Inside sliding piece)


• 4" x 1" strip of cardstock, or heavy patterned paper (T-Slide mechanism)


• 4 1/4" x 1" strip of cardstock, or heavy patterned paper (T-Slide mechanism)


• Round tab punch or circle punch


• Additional cardstock, stamps, Ink and Embellishments to finish your card

Instructions:

• Line up the 5" piece of cardstock at the 3/4" mark of your paper cutter and cut from 3/4" to 4 1/4". Turn the paper clockwise and repeat this step twice.
• Put your score blade in your paper cutter and score the fourth side that is uncut to complete the square of your card.
• Put the scored side of your frame to your right. Line it up at 2 3/4" on your cutter and score from 3/4" to 4 1/4".
• Move the paper to 1 1/4" and score from 3/4" to 4 1/4" again.
• Place the scored part of your frame to your left. Line it up at 3 3/8" and cut from 3/4" to 3 1/8".
• Scoot your paper over to 3 1/4" and cut a line the same size as the previous cut.
• Use a craft knife to make a complete slit by connecting the 2 lines you just cut.
• Score the 3 1/2" x 1 1/4" piece at 1/2" and stamp your greeting on it.
• Slide your greeting piece into the slit face up and adhere the strip at the score line of the frame.
• Create your t-slider by putting the 4"x1" strip vertically and gluing the 4 1/4" x 1" strip in the center of it horizontally. Add you tab to the end of the 4 1/4" x 1" piece.
• Turn the 5" square frame piece over and add sticky strip along the 1/2" score line. Line up the T-slide vertical piece on the sticky strip.
• Put sticky strip around the back of your frame piece, leaving room for the tab, and adhere to the 5 1/4" piece of cardstock.
• Decorate a panel to place on the front and attach it to the card on the score side ONLY. Do not tape all the way around or your card WILL NOT OPEN correctly.
• Gift it!
  

GOAL!!!!

I believe that life is meaningless unless we have goals. So, I have a new personal goal. I will participate in one Splitcoaststampers challenge each week. It's been the little boost I need to get motivated to stamp. We all have slumps and times we don't feel like doing anything, but I believe that when we make goals, these slumps have less effect on our lives. Christmas in July Giftable Instructions

Here are the instructions to the 2 giftable projects we made at Christmas in July--hope you make them soon!!!

Corner Bookmark

Materials:

• One 4"x4" pc. cardstock
• One 2 3/4"x2 3/4" pc. cardstock
• Paper cutter with scoring tool
• Sticky Strip or other strong adhesive
• Border punch
• Stamps, ink and embellishments

Instructions:

• Mark 3 sides of the 4" cardstock on 3 sides.
• Score two diagonal lines between the marks to form an unfinished triangle.
• Fold along the scores.
• Punch the bottom with the border punch.
• Cut your other paper in 1/2 diagonally to create 2 triangles.
• Adhere one triangle on the back of the bookmark to keep the folds down (use Sticky Strip).
• Decorate your bookmark!
• Use it or gift it!!!

Drawer Box

Materials:

• 3 pcs. of same colored cardstock or designer paper: one 8.5"x7" (drawer piece), one 9 1/16"x6 1/16" (piece A), one 9 1/8"x6 1/8" (piece B)
• Paper cutter with scoring tool
• Sticky strip or other strong adhesive
• 1/2" circle punch
• 1/16" hole punch
• Scissors
• Stamps, ink and embellishments

Instructions:

• Score the drawer piece at 1 1/4" on all four sides and fold well.
• Cut out one side of each corner--DO NOT CUT OUT THE WHOLE CORNER.
• Adhere drawer together with Sticky Strip.
• Punch 1/2 of the 1/2" circle on the top front part of the drawer to create a tab recess.
• Score pieces A and B at 1 1/4" on ONE long side and both short sides.
  
• Cut out one side of each corner in both pieces and adhere together with Sticky Strip.
• Adhere sticky strip to the inside of part B and nestle part A into it to create the box part.
• Slide the drawer in.
• Embellish your box.
• Use it or gift it!
  

Christmas in July!

Tonight was my last night for my Christmas in July workshop. It was a blast! We made 3 cards and 2 giftable projects. One giftable was a card drawer/box and the other was a corner bookmark. It was great to get together and stamp and the Christmas theme was fun--it helped me to not think about the heat that's been so high this week! A new found love--CAS style!

I love to stamp, as I've said before. I belong to a number of different sites where I share my creations. I haven't been really active on any of them until recently when I decided to do some challenges for Splitcoaststampers.com and it has been a blast! A new found love of mine is CAS style. CAS stands for clean and simple. These cards have lots of white space and few embellishments. They're quick and easy cards to make and I just love it! I always thought that a cute card had to have tons of embellishments--but I was WRONG! Check out these ones!!!

My First Blogtry

So, this is my first ever personal blog entry. I am looking forward to being able to share all about my stamping creations with you! I live in Kansas with my husband and great supporter, Matt.
