MHKDesigns: Simple Rose

Hello again, everyone! It's the last day of the mini-release for MHKDesigns! I made a few mini sets that are minimal in cost, plus I've added some papers, so my team is going to be sharing the cards and sets from the 22nd-26th. Stay tuned for the beginning of October, too, because I am sponsoring the Hop to Stop and so I'll have 2 more sets and another paper pack to share with you on the 1st!!! Today we're sharing the "Simple Rose" set...

I have been searching for a good rose image for quite some time. Just a line image that I could color in. So, I created one! ;) Take a peek at what I created with this set + the Damsel in Distress paper pack...

Like I said, I was wanting a line image of a rose, and I wanted to feature it in a unique way...so I used the image from the Simple Rose set to create a border for one of the sentiments from the set! I watercolored the border, then added the sentiment and some bakers twine + a bunch of sparkly stuff to finish off the focal panel. Some gold washi was added behind the sentiment to kind of highlight it as the most important part of the card. I then backed it with some paper from the Damsel in Distress paper pack.

Because I love this image so much, I decided to add it to the inside. I tried some different things, but then decided to use it as a "stopper" for an easel card! The same twine, some bling, and more paper from the Damsel in Distress paper pack was added to tie the whole card together.

I just love the way the open easel card looks! I really think this turned out prettily--I hope you do, too! Please leave me a comment below to let me know what you think!

CAS Christmas Card

Hi, all! I'm back with another Christmas card using products from The Stamps of Life. I went for CAS this time around, and I really love the way this turned out! Take a peek...

The stocking was created using the stockings4Christmas and patterns4stockings sets. I used some Kiwi Dot washi tape to help the stocking POP off the base, and then added a few Strawberry Goosebumps for more texture and shine.

The sentiment is also from the stockings4Christmas stamp set. I stamped it onto the card base, then decided to add more texture with a border folder from the Sizzix Flowers/Dots 3 Pack Embossing Folders.

That was it! This card was very easy to put together, and I think it turned out fabulously! I hope you think so, too! I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. :)

Today we're sharing the "Simply Santa" set...

Since the holiday season is fast approaching, at least in the crafting world, I thought I'd make up a mini set with a fun vintage Santa image! I think he is ever so jolly, don't you? Take a peek at what I created with this set + a SNEAK PEEK of digital papers to come later this year...

I really LOVE the Santa image from Simply Santa set, and I wanted to color him in a bit uniquely. I was going for a Santa that was bathing in the multi colored lights of a Christmas tree...but I'm not sure if I really like the way that the image turned out. I kept him the way he was, though, because I thought one of you might like him! ;)

I added the sentiment as an anchor towards the bottom of the card. This digital paper will be in the store SOON...with more holiday prints...so stay tuned!

I used a doily, some buttons, rhinestones, and felt pieces to embellish my card. I used colors to mirror the ones used on the image for the "holly" berries. I really think this turned out so fun--I hope you do, too! Please leave me a comment below to let me know what you think!
