Hoppy Easter!

Happy Saturday, friends! I have a sweet Easter card to share with you today. It uses a DARLING digi image drawn by the very talented Lee Holland, and a bunch of sweet embellishments. Take a peek...

I colored the image with colored pencils and added some Stickles for added shine and texture. I also added some seam binding ribbon from The Stamps of Life, a doily, black pearls, string, and a button from my stash, and patterned paper from Stampin' Up!.

I just adore the way this turned out! What do YOU think? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Punny Thank You

Hi, friends! I hope you all had a happy, safe, and enjoyable Independence Day if you live in the USA. We spent time with family and it was GRATE! Which brings me to this post's card...

I used patterned paper, cardstock, and ink from Stampin' Up!, stamps and die from Close To My Heart, and embellishments from a smattering of places for this card. I LOVE puns, so this sentiment and image combo make my heart happy!

I think this cards turned out beautifully, and I hope you agree! I can't wait to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

MHKDesigns: September Challenge

Hi, friends! Happy September! I'm here to share some cards I made using the inspiration from this month's challenge at MHKDesigns! Take a peek at the inspiration...

I LOVE the autumnal feel of this photo--and that gorgeous mum! It led me to use the Mum's the Word set to create a trio of cards. All of the cards use the same layout but I did some "digital magic" to create different color schemes. Here's the set...

I used brushes in Photoshop to create a watercolor background and a faux emboss resist. I made a video on how to create this effect and shared it yesterday, but hop over to my YouTube channel if you'd like to recreate it! I started with a red tone...

Then I decided to try a more mellow magenta. I love the way the image and sentiment from the Mum's the Word set POP with these colors!

Last up was blue tones! The greens in this color scheme turned out a bit more brown, but I think that just adds to the charm of the card.

I used coordinating ribbons to finish off each card. I really adore the way this set turned out, and I hope you like them, too! Please leave me a comment below to let me know your thoughts!

Thanks for stopping by, friends! Come join in the fun on the MHKDesigns blog for your chance to win some digi goodies from the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop! Until next time, HUGS and happy {digital} stamping, friends!

House of Cards: Feather Images and/or Color Inspiration

Hello, everyone! It's time for another challenge at House of Cards, and this month we have a fabulous inspiration challenge for you! You can choose to follow the colors OR use feather images OR do both! It's up to you!  Take a peek at the inspiration...

I was inspired by both the colors and images, and I started with just one card...but it morphed into a bold and fresh card set! ;)  I used Photoshop to create my panel (these are all one layer cards), and then used hue settings to change the colors quickly and easily. Here's the entire set...

After I printed the cards, I rounded the corners at the bottom to add a bit of finish. Seam binding ribbon in coordinating tones was added to the tops of the cards and sequins, liquid pearls, and rhinestones were added to enhance the sentiment at the bottom of the card. This set uses images from the Fanciful Feathers digital stamp set and a sentiment from the Beauty digital stamp set from MHKDesigns.

I LOVE the monochrome that was created on each card with printing, ribbon, and embellishments! These turned out so prettily, and I hope you like them! I can't wait to hear your thoughts in the comments below. :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today, friends!  I hope you take a bit of time to come and play along with us at House of Cards.  Don't forget to stop by the other DT members' blogs for even MORE amazing inspiration--they always blow me away!  I'll be back later this month with more crafty posts!  Until then, HUGS and happy stamping, friends! :)
