In Honor of Bill Blog Hop

Hello, friends. Today I am sharing a very special post to honor the lives of family members of blogging friends who have recently passed away. My dear and long standing, blog friend, Sue, lost her brother, Bill, to esophageal cancer last week. In addition to this sad loss, three other friends, Em, Nandini and Mary Ellen, have also recently had losses. Em lost a long-time and dear family friend suddenly, Nandini lost an aunt-in-law and Mary Ellen also lost her brother in January. Ladies, you are in my thoughts and prayers!

I have created a paper pieced card to share with you for this hop. It has a blue/periwinkle theme, as periwinkle is the color of esophageal cancer awareness. After photographing it, I feel it's more blue, but I did try to find the periwinkle. Here is the card...

I used three different patterned papers from my stash, all from Stampin' Up!, a floral stamp set from Spellbinders, and a sentiment from a retired Stampin' Up! stamp set. I also used some pearls from my stash and white liquid pearls to accent the punched scallop border of the focal panel. I do think this turned out lovely, and I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Here is the list of participants, linked to their blogs:

Thank you so much for stopping by today, friends. Please do visit Sue, EmNandini, and Mary Ellen to leave some love as they mourn the loss of loved ones. If you have time, please complete the hop and leave some love with the other participants, as well. Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping, dear friends!

Washi Tape Series #6: Puppy Love

Hi, friends! I'm here today with a darling, dog-themed Valentine! Our fur baby has not been doing well, and my husband has been so amazing, taking time off work to pick up her medication and going with her and me to the vet. So, I had to make a card to him from her and I! Here's the card...

The patterned paper is from my stash--I'm trying to use my stash up, and it's slow going. ;) The stamp set is new from Recollections (Michael's) and I bought it specifically for Valentine's Day and other occasions where we celebrate my husband so our fur girl can share her love, too! Some washi tape from Doodlebug Design and black pearls accent the scene, along with a fun punched and layered sentiment.

I love this card so much, and I hope my hubby does, too! What do you think? I would love to hear from you in the comments below!

I'm entering this card into these fabulous challenges~

Hoppy Easter!

Happy Saturday, friends! I have a sweet Easter card to share with you today. It uses a DARLING digi image drawn by the very talented Lee Holland, and a bunch of sweet embellishments. Take a peek...

I colored the image with colored pencils and added some Stickles for added shine and texture. I also added some seam binding ribbon from The Stamps of Life, a doily, black pearls, string, and a button from my stash, and patterned paper from Stampin' Up!.

I just adore the way this turned out! What do YOU think? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

TRCC: Challenge #4: Perfectly Pink

Hello, friends, and happy April! I hope you're looking forward to a new month--I know I am! Thank you so much to everyone who played along last month at The Rainbow Card Challenge, and here is this month's prompt...

Now, we really just want to see creations with an abundance of pink. You don't have to necessarily go with the "perfectly girly" theme or use the photos as your guide. Mostly monochrome, if you understand my meaning. For all the details about the "rules" (there are very few), you can see the challenge post! This post is about the card I made, so take a peek...

I decided to continue my "stash rummage" for this creation. I found a Martha Stewart floral stamp set that hadn't seen the light of day for many a moon, some pink inks from Stampin' Up! that needed to be used so they knew they were loved, and a sentiment stamp from a rarely used (tragic!) Paper Smooches set. I am loving finding old treasures! I kept the accents of this feminine creation soft and pearly to keep with the polished feel, with just a bit of sparkle on the sentiment thanks to a glitter gel pen from Sakura.

I think this card turned out beautifully, and I hope you like it, too! I would LOVE for you to let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

Please come and join us this month at The Rainbow Card Challenge! I LOVE seeing what everyone creates! If you're looking for even more inspiration, you should take a peek at what the other amazingly talented gals on the design team have created, too!

Thank you so much for stopping by today, friends! I will be back again with a one week reminder AND  a freebie panel, so don't forget to stop by again towards the end of the month! Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping, friends!

MHKDesigns: Blessed Lily

Hello, friends! I hope your March is going by swimmingly! I am getting ready to go on a much needed and anticipated Spring Break! ;) But I digress. Today I'm back to share another card using the *NEW* Blessed Lily digital stamp set from the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop. Take a peek...

I used Photoshop to create my focal panel. I used watercolor brushes to color in the image from the Blessed Lily set, but kept the flower itself white. I added some glitter to the flower for added shine.

I then layered a few shapes over the lily. I recolored part of the sentiment from the Blessed Lily set (want to know how--click HERE), and then added a fun marker scribble brush behind it for more depth. A few pearls add more texture and interest to this part of the card.

I then layered the focal panel with some fun glittery papers and added them on top of each other, using alternating angles. I love the way this turned out and hope you like it, too! I can't wait to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

That's all I have for you today, friends! Thank you so much for stopping by! I always love to hear from you, so please do let me know your thoughts in the comments below! Don't forget to head over to the MHKDesigns blog for more inspiration and join in our *NEW* challenge for your chance at winning some digital goodies from the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop! Until next time, HUGS and happy {digital} stamping, friends!
