CAS Flamingo

Hello, friends! I have been gone for far too long, and decided to take the opportunity to redo my blog and create a card this weekend! I am playing along with a few fabulous challenges, so I hope you'll join me! Here's the card...

I used dies, stamps, and ink from The Stamps of Life, Spectrum Noir markers, punches (retired?) from Stampin' Up! and miscellaneous bling to create this card. Here's a closer look at the details...

It was great to get back into my craft room and create! I think this turned out pretty cute, even if my skills are a bit rusty! What do you think? I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

I'm entering this card into these fabulous challenges~

(Use stitched dies.)

Thanks for stopping by, friends! I hope you all have some time to play along with these fun challenges! I also hope you have a wonderful week! Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping!

Unicorn Birthday

Hi, friends! Thanks for stopping by today! I've been having fun getting out supplies that I haven't used and a few new things, too. For today's card, I used a new to me image from the Unicorn Birthday digital stamp set by Bugaboo. Take a peek...

I colored the sweet image with Spectrum Noir markers, then fussy cut it out. I used stamps and dies from The Stamps of Life to create the sentiment, then added some glitter gems, glitter paper, and textured ribbon for a bit more texture. The focal panel was added to a card base prepped with some pink paper pierced patterned paper (whew--how's that for alliteration?!) with a lavender mat.

I totally adore this creation, and hope you do, too! I can't wait to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

MHKDesigns: Blessed Lily Freebie!

Hi, friends! By now, I think you all know that I have decided to do something NEW for the NEW YEAR! Each month I will be providing you with a freebie panel using that month's release set from the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop! They will all be 8" x 10" so that they can be printed and used as home decor.

This month's featured set is Blessed Lily!
To grab the FREEBIE panel, head over to

Here's what I did with the freebie.

I printed the freebie onto thick white cardstock. I then colored the image in with Spectrum Noir markers.

I even added a bit of Spectrum Noir to the sentiment to add more depth! I love the way the yellow helps the other colors POP!

I cannot wait to frame this panel and display it in my home for Easter! I hope you like it, too! I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts in the comments below!

That's all I have for you today, friends!  Hop by tomorrow to check out our *NEW* challenge, and don't hesitate to grab the Blessed Lily from the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop!  Until tomorrow, HUGS and happy {digital} stamping!

Here's what I did with the freebie.

I printed the freebie onto thick white cardstock. I then colored the roses in with Spectrum Noir markers. I chose to use color blocking to keep the image as simple as possible, and I love the way it turned out! I hope you do, too!

MHKDesigns: Digital Faux Quilt Background

Hi friends! I hope your summer/winter (depending on the hemisphere!) has been great so far! I am really exited to share that starting this month, I will be sharing tutorials on the MHKDesigns Blog on how to create one-layer digital cards with products from the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop that look like the have been cut and layered! I feel like a lot of the cards I make are never mailed because they get bulky, so this is a way I can ensure that some of them at least will make it out of my house! ;)  Take a peek at the first card I have to share with you in this series...

Isn't it pretty??? I love the way the papers are layered and look like a faux quilt! That's why I'm calling this digital technique "Digital Faux Quilted Background". The papers I used for this technique are from the Sunflower Sampler digital paper pack. The image (from the Stitched Sunflower digital stamp set) was not colored digitally, though. I colored it in with Spectrum Noir markers after it was printed. The burlap ribbon was also added for some added texture!

If you'd like to see a tutorial on how to create this technique, head on over to the MHKDesigns blog or my YouTube channel! The card I make for the tutorial is different colors and looks like this once it is colored and has ribbon added...

That's all I have for you today, friends! Thank you so much for stopping by! I always love to hear from you, so please do let me know your thoughts in the comments below! Don't forget to head over to the MHKDesigns blog for more inspiration and join in our *NEW* challenge tomorrow for your chance at winning some digital goodies from the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop! Until next time, HUGS and happy {digital} stamping, friends!
