Christmas 24: Sketch

Hello, friends! I am SO excited to be sharing another card created for  Christmas 24! If you follow along, you will have 24 cards made before the Christmas holiday each year! Challenges are biweekly on the 1st and 15th of the month, and this time's challenge is a SKETCH. 

Take a peek at my creation...

I used a cute image from Great Impressions (no longer in business) and colored it in with glittery gel pens from Sakura. I punched it and layered it onto a green scallop punched cardstock piece, then added black liquid pearls. The sentiment was pieces together with a V E R Y old stamp set from my stash. Ink and cardstock are from The Stamps of Life, the patterned paper is from Michaels, and punches are from Stampin' Up! (circles )and EK Success (border).

I adore how these two papers work together, and they really help the other colors POP! SO fun! What do you think? I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Hearts & Flowers Video Hop: DIY Dollar Tree Holiday Decor!

Hi, friends! Happy Valentine's Day!!! I am super excited to be joining the amazing Hearts & Flowers Video Hop today! We will all be sharing some video tutorials on how to create things with hearts and/or flowers, and I chose to use some Dollar Tree items to upcycle and create my own home decor!

 Here's the Valentine's Day decor I created~

This project was very quick and simple to create. I painted the sides with black paint, Mod Podged patterned paper onto the front, then added heart accents from Dollar Tree! In my video, I give more details about this project AND create an Easter themed piece of the same size! MHKDesigns: Interlocking Gatefold Card

Hi, friends!  I'm here today to share a fun fold card that uses some awesome products from the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop, and I've also got a video tutorial on how I created this card!  Take a peek at the final product...

This card is called an interlocking gatefold card.  It utilizes dies to create a fun fold that opens in a very unique way!  I chose to use a sentiment from the Lift Me Higher digital stamp set and the image from the Simple Rose digital stamp set for the outside of my card.  The paper is from the Autumnal Accents digital paper pack.

I also chose to decorate the inside of the card.  I used more of the same paper from the Autumnal Accents digital paper pack and another sentiment from the Lift Me Higher digital stamp set to tie it all in together.  

A few pearls and a glittery foam heart were the only embellishments needed for this unique card!  I really like the way this turned out, and I hope you do, as well!  Click HERE to go to my YouTube channel for the video tutorial on how to make your own interlocking gatefold card! :)  I can't wait to hear what you think in the comments below!

MHKDesigns: I've Been Framed!

Hello, all!  It's time for the June 2016 release at MHKDesigns, and there are some fabulous sets coming your way!  Today's set includes five beautiful frames and five versatile sentiments--perfect for all occasions!  Take a peek at...

I've Been Framed!

This set could be used for a variety of occasions, and all the different sentiments and frames create so many possible combinations, too!  I chose to go with the scripture and the heart/rose frame.  Come and see the card I created...

I colored the frame image from the You've Been Framed! set with glitter pens and Wink of Stella pen in gold.  The scripture was already added before printing, so all I had to do was fussy cut the whole thing out and then add some flowers, a glittery heart, and punched leaves to accent it.

I added some paper from the Glorious Garden paper pack to a white card base, and matted it with shimmery cardstock.  Two doily quarters add some more elegance to this portion of the card.  I think this turned out to be beautiful, and I hope you agree!  I'd love to hear your comments below! :)
