Back in the groove...

So, we're back for reallsies!  I got all the laundry done and the house cleaned.  I just didn't fold the laundry.  Is that bad?  I'm one of those people who feels that as long as it's clean, you can fold it yourself or else grab it out of the basket.  I need to make things--namely cards and crafts! ;)  So, that's what I did!  I made FIVE cards today!  One is a DT card for later, but I'll show you 2 of the other four tonight!

Here's the first card~

(Find my scrumptious digi HERE)

This card was fun to make.  I started by creating a panel with a photoshop program using the delicious strawberry digi from Free Vintage Digital Stamps and then printed it out.  I then colored the strawberries, dry embossed the panel with a folder from Stampin' Up!  I then added some ribbon, a twine tied button, and a cute sentiment from the Fresh Fruits set by Fiskars.  Voila!  Card finished and it looks oh so delicious!  And now for another card!

Hero Arts: CAS w/ sketches
(I've used a sentiment by Hero Arts & Basic Grey
 from the Kissing Booth Collection
in a set called "Friend Your The Best".)

This was such a fun card to make!  I just grabbed a bunch of bright cardstock and ribbon, dry embossed the blue panel with a Darice folder, put the papers and ribbon together, added a sentiment and some rhinestones, and here you go!  SO much fun!

Thanks for coming by and saying hi!  I've missed everyone and cannot wait to really get back into the groove!  I hope to be back tomorrow night with some more cards, but it's my first day back to work after summer break and we'll see. BOO.  I want more summer!  Happy stamping! ;)

PS: I had to post this darling picture of my fur baby!  I've missed her so!  Isn't she a doll?!

Something totally different...

For those of you who have been following me for a while, you know that I am trying to branch out with different styles, etc.  One thing that I don't "do" much of is cutsie cards.  BUT, that has all changed!  A little while back, I was lucky enough to win some adorable Whoopsie Dasiy digis for participating in the Crafty Hazelnut's Christmas Challenge.  It was time to put them to use!

Here's the first card I've made~

Inside~

For these fabulous challenges~

(I added tons of flower embellishments
made with punches, markers, and rhinestones.)

(This card will be going to my little sister
for her birthday later this year.)

(decorate the inside of the card)

(I forgot I had this gorgeous embossing folder!)

(Nothing says an old fashioned summer like
a tree swing and pretty light clothing!)

Basic Grey: Fun in the Sun
(Swinging in the summer is the best fun!)

So, what do you think?  I LOVE it!!!  I started by coloring the image with blender pens and soft inks, sponged in a sky, then I added some shimmery details to the dress and bonnet.  After that, I decided to create some branches and blossoms for the top of the tree and added the panel to my card base that was created with pink, green, and blue papers.  The blue paper was dry embossed with a Sizzix folder and the pink lace to the side is a border punch by Martha Stewart.  More flowers were added and the front of the card was done!

Then onto the inside.  I've had a Hero Arts/Basic Grey set that I bought back around Valentine's Day from their Kissing Booth line and the sentiment seemed PERFECT for a birthday card for my little sister who will be turning 12 later this year.  She LOVES girly things, so I think this card will be a winner!  After I fussy cut the sentiment out and layered it, I added it to a dry embossed strip and then added another flower with some leaves to continue the theme from the outside.  SO glad that stamp got some use!!!!

Well, that's all for now!  Thanks for stopping by--I am so glad that you did!  I hope you come and play along with these fabulous challenges so I can see YOUR creations!  Happy stamping! :)

Summer and winter meet up...

***PLEASE ENTER MY BLOG CANDY GIVE-AWAY!***

Hi, friends!  I've made 2 cards today that I'd like to share, and they are seasonally opposites!  One is a summery friendship card and the other is a festive winter card!  I really like the way both came out, but I don't have a lot of time to blog today as I've got some admin responsibilities to attend to, and I want to comment on your creations!!!  Let's get started, shall we?

Here's my summer card~

For these fabulous challenges~

Nothing says summer to a Kansan like sunflowers!  I've never entered a Basic Grey challenge before and so I wanted to enter this time.  I've used my favorite BG patterned paper, some BG clear stamps, and a BG fabric flower on this card.  The sentiment is by Technique Tuesday and all other supplies are from Stampin' Up!  The sunflowers and earthly tones remind me of summer and the sentiment is special--I'm sending it to a friend that I don't get to see much anymore due to her working full-time now...it's sad, really.  She's my BFF and I want her to know I love her!!!  Let's keep going...

This card is kind of a mistake...I had every intention of following the sketch to the letter and not rotate it, etc., but then after I had glued down all the background pieces, I realized the card front had been facing the wrong way! LOL!!!  So, the sketch is rotated...I think this turned out well!  I used a free digi stamp from Broken Box Stock, lots of Stampin' Up! papers (IN PURE POPPY AND REAL RED), markers, punches, and glitter, and a sentiment made by yours truly!  You know what that means--it's free to you for a limited time! :)

Here's your freebie from ME
(will be deleted in the next few days)~

Thanks for stopping by!  Before I go, I want to invite ALL OF YOU to come and join in my Technique Tuesday Challenge: Cascading Cards!!!

I am trying my hardest to get more participation, but it isn't happening...it makes me sad!  Please stop by and play along!  There are free digi prizes from me for the 6 winners!!!  Thanks for considering it, and happy stamping! :)
