Less is More: Sketch Take 1

Firstly, I'd like to apologize ahead of time.  I shall be MIA for a bit as I've got a family wedding to attend and so I will be leaving my craft area (MINI PANIC ATTACK) and my sweet puppy (GIANT PANIC ATTACK) who has  never been away from us since we got her 2 years ago and be gone for a while.  I'm trying to be happy about it, I'll get to see family I haven't seen in years, but I will so miss all of you and your fabulous creations!  I've already had to spend less time than I'd like with you all, as I've been trying to step it down a bit so it's not huge withdraw when it happens.  So, please know that I am not purposefully ignoring any of you and will try to get back into the swing of things...

Secondly, I've made two cards with this week's Less is More sketch, but I'm partial to one of them and so am saving it for it's very own post! ;)  This post is to showcase the first card that I made with this sketch.

Here's the card~

(I've used floral, dry embossing, favorite color--I ADORE yellow tulips!)

I was able to use a new wood grain dry embossing folder from Crop Stop winnings. :)  I also used a stamp set that I purchased a few months ago and still had yet to use, so I also got that out.  Stamp, emboss, add, sparkle, and, voila! ;)

I have another bunch of cards made with my Fiskars Fresh Fruits set as well, but those will have to wait a bit.  I'm short on time and have to share something with you when I'm away from home1 ;)  Happy stamping--come back soon for my other LIM card!!!

Hola again!

Hi, friends!  I know I had a DT post this morning, but I've got two more cards to share with you tonight (in separate posts)!!! :)  So, you're stuck with me! ;)  Let's get right to it, shall we?

Here's my card~

Thanks so much to the girls at JUGS--I had never tried this technique and LOVE it!  I got to use 2 Kaiser Crafts stamps that haven't gotten much, if any, use so that makes me very happy!  I stamped the images in Baja Breeze and then used a watercolor pen to color the roses pink and add more blue to soften the scene.  Oh, and of course some glitter for a little bit of fun!  I decided that my window needed some shabby chic drapery, and so I added some lace, punched paper, and satin stitched ribbon to create a soft and feminine feel.  Did I succeed?  I like to think I did!  I LOVE the way this turned out--so pretty!

Thanks for stopping by--I hope to see some of YOUR creations soon, so please come and play along at these fabulous challenges!  Don't forget to join my BLOG CANDY and my challenge at TECHNIQUE TUESDAY as well!  Happy stamping!!!

Summer and winter meet up...

***PLEASE ENTER MY BLOG CANDY GIVE-AWAY!***

Hi, friends!  I've made 2 cards today that I'd like to share, and they are seasonally opposites!  One is a summery friendship card and the other is a festive winter card!  I really like the way both came out, but I don't have a lot of time to blog today as I've got some admin responsibilities to attend to, and I want to comment on your creations!!!  Let's get started, shall we?

Here's my summer card~

Nothing says summer to a Kansan like sunflowers!  I've never entered a Basic Grey challenge before and so I wanted to enter this time.  I've used my favorite BG patterned paper, some BG clear stamps, and a BG fabric flower on this card.  The sentiment is by Technique Tuesday and all other supplies are from Stampin' Up!  The sunflowers and earthly tones remind me of summer and the sentiment is special--I'm sending it to a friend that I don't get to see much anymore due to her working full-time now...it's sad, really.  She's my BFF and I want her to know I love her!!!  Let's keep going...

This card is kind of a mistake...I had every intention of following the sketch to the letter and not rotate it, etc., but then after I had glued down all the background pieces, I realized the card front had been facing the wrong way! LOL!!!  So, the sketch is rotated...I think this turned out well!  I used a free digi stamp from Broken Box Stock, lots of Stampin' Up! papers (IN PURE POPPY AND REAL RED), markers, punches, and glitter, and a sentiment made by yours truly!  You know what that means--it's free to you for a limited time! :)

Here's your freebie from ME
(will be deleted in the next few days)~

Thanks for stopping by!  Before I go, I want to invite ALL OF YOU to come and join in my Technique Tuesday Challenge: Cascading Cards!!!

I am trying my hardest to get more participation, but it isn't happening...it makes me sad!  Please stop by and play along!  There are free digi prizes from me for the 6 winners!!!  Thanks for considering it, and happy stamping! :)

2 Cards...

Hi, all!  First of all, have you taken time yet this weekend to create your card or project for Technique Tuesday?!  You've got a few days left--I hope you join me!  I really want to start giving away prizes!!! :)

Now onto some other items of business.  Namely 2 cards that I have to show you tonight.  I've had a lazy day today.  Okay, I did do some housework, but I did stay in my pajamas all day.  After I took a shower, I hopped into a new pair, and that's how I've been all day.  Haven't left the house at all!  It's been absolutely fantastic!  But I digress...

Here's card #1: Red, White, and Blue Posies For You~

For these fabulous challenges~

What do you think?  I recently purchased some of the cheap $1 acrylic stamps, and these wild flowers are some of the images.  I masked off the panel to create my blue moon...I was hoping this would look like the scene was moonlit.  Does it?  I added glitter and rhinestones to give the feeling of dew in the night air.  I dunno...maybe I went too artsy and failed?  Anyway, onwards and upwards!

Here's card #2: You're a Star~

Details~

For these fabulous challenges~

I like this one.  I used both sides of the embossing folder to create my two white embossed panels.  It gives a subtle something I think.  I also used stars to stick with a masculine theme.  This is also my "Spread the L-O-V-E" card because I'll be giving it to my DH on Father's Day. :)

Thanks for stopping by--I hope you like what you see!  I also hope you'll join in the amazing challenges--I LOVE seeing everyone's creations!  Happy stamping! :)

It's already 11:30pm?!

Wow.  It's kinda late!  Oh, well...I'll just take a nap after work again tomorrow... ;)  Seems to be my theme this week since last week was spring break and now I'm back to the "real world."

I've got a fun set of cards to show you tonight!  As it's almost Easter, but barely spring, I went with a spring theme that could be used as Easter cards should I choose to use them that way.  I made a box to go with them (I made 5) and stamped matching envelopes as well!

Here's a peek at the set~

A better look at the card~

Other parts of the set~

So, what do you think?  Maybe I'll give it to someone I love very, very much.  Maybe I'll use it as blog candy.  Maybe I'll use it as a prize for Technique Tuesday (starting here at On a Stampage on Tuesday, April 3).  We'll see. ;)

I'd like to enter this set into the following challenges~
