MHKDesigns: Simply Santa

Ho, ho, ho, and Merry Christmas {in September}, everyone!  It's time for a mini-release for MHKDesigns!  I made a few mini sets that are minimal in cost, plus I've added some papers, so my team is going to be sharing the cards and sets from the 22nd-26th.  Stay tuned for the beginning of October, too, because I am sponsoring the Hop to Stop and so I'll have 2 more sets and another paper pack to share with you on the 1st!!!

Before we get started, I have a WINNER
from yesterday's post to announce!

The winner is...

Pia S. who said:
"It's gorgeous, Mynnette. I've always struggled coloring in flowers, but the way this is designed with the shaded parts leaves me with a feeling I could manage coloring this one. It deserves to be in the spotlight, so I like that you kept it fairly simple, just adding a bit of sparkle and texture. Great job!"

Please email me at mhkdesigns.etsyATgmailDOTcom
and I will email you the set from yesterday!!!

Today we're sharing the "Simply Santa" set...

Since the holiday season is fast approaching, at least in the crafting world, I thought I'd make up a mini set with a fun vintage Santa image!  I think he is ever so jolly, don't you?  Take a peek at what I created with this set + a SNEAK PEEK of digital papers to come later this year...

I really LOVE the Santa image from Simply Santa set, and I wanted to color him in a bit uniquely.  I was going for a Santa that was bathing in the multi colored lights of a Christmas tree...but I'm not sure if I really like the way that the image turned out.  I kept him the way he was, though, because I thought one of you might like him! ;)

I added the sentiment as an anchor towards the bottom of the card.  This digital paper will be in the store SOON...with more holiday stay tuned!

I used a doily, some buttons, rhinestones, and felt pieces to embellish my card.  I used colors to mirror the ones used on the image for the "holly" berries.  I really think this turned out so fun--I hope you do, too!  Please leave me a comment below to let me know what you think!

For more inspiration using this gorgeous set, please check out the other gal on my team who is also showcasing this set!

Here is the link~

I will be giving both of these sets to one lucky person who comments on this blog posts!  It will be randomly chosen, so everyone has a chance!  Please make sure that your email is easily found via your comment and/or Blogger profile so that I can get your winnings to you quickly! :)

Want MORE chances to win freebies?!  Join our Facebook group and comment on posts there for a chance to win FREE digital paper packs or a discount to the store! :)

Thank you SO MUCH for stopping by!  That's all for me today, friends!  I'll be back tomorrow with another new MHKDesigns set for you to check out, so stop by again then for another chance to win, too!  HUGS and happy {DIGITAL} stamping to you all! :)

WOW this is just stunning! What a great set. Love the unusual colors but it really gives this card a retro look. Just perfect for Christmas!

Now this is what a Santa should look like - he has almost a vintage feel to him (which would be me) vintage. What a great image.

Your abstract coloring in combo with the very traditional color scheme and embellishments looks really pretty.. Vintage Santas with kind faces, like this one, are my favorites.

And also, thank you so much for your giveaway, I loved your flower set showcased yesterday and I'm so happy to be the lucky winner.
