CSAYL: Anything BUT a Card

Well, we've got one last challenge for August over at Christmas Stampin' All Year Long!  This week we want to see ANYTHING BUT A CARD!!!

Here's my creation~

Details~

I make these coaster clips quite a bit.  My mom always has one that I've made her on her fridge and they come in handy so frequently!  It's just 2 coasters, decorated, and then clothespins in between!  Add some magnets to the back and you have a quick and darling way to hold some papers!

Thanks for stopping by--I hope you like my idea and that it will benefit you!  Please come play along with us this week at CSAYL and say hi to the other DT girls! :)  Merry stamping!!!!

Goodbye again for a bit and some cards...

...hi!  I just feel like I'm getting a little bit back into the swing of things and now I have to up and leave for yet another family wedding!  Not that I mind free cake.  Seriously.  Is there anything better than wedding cake?!  If you can name one other food that tastes as good...keep it to yourself.  I want to savor the fact that I will get to eat free wedding cake for the third time in the last month. :)

So, anyway, the point?  I'll miss you all!  Oh, and I do have a card to share with you!!!  I had some time last night to create as my DH was at a meeting until late. :)

Here's the card~

This was such a fun card to make!  I recently received my winnings from my Hero Arts win back in July, and the Delicate Blossoms set was in it.  I've LOVED it for so long...and now I get to play with it!!!  I stated by stamping the larger poppy image onto some white cardstock.  I colored in the stems and water colored the background with different blues.  I then dry embossed the image with a fun pattern.  I stamped my image a second time onto some patterned paper, cut out the flowers, and glued them to the panel.  I added some pearls and glitter to the center of the two "open" flowers and there you have it!  I LOVE the way it turned out--I think it's so pretty!

Before I do my customary thank you and ending, I'd really like to wonder "aloud"--when will Halloween challenges start?!  I LOVE Halloween but usually don't have any reason to make cards.  So I'm gonna make reasons because I want to make them!!! :)  Plus, I just bought a bunch of Halloween stamps... ;)

Thank you so much for stopping by!  I love to see all of you and enjoy reading your sweet comments.  I hope to see you here again soon!  Happy stamping! :)

TSOT: Thank you...for being YOU!

Don't you LOVE getting a card in the mail?!  I don't usually get any unless it's my birthday or a holiday, but I just love getting one that says thank you!  And this card I have for you is for someone that is special.  I want her to know that I am thankful she's HER!  And the sketch for this week at Try Stampin' On Tuesday has been utilized!!!

Here's the sketch~

Color Inspiration- Aqua and Pink

I decided to go CAS on this and do my favorite textured white stripes on flat white for some interest.  Added some fussy cut flowers and glitter, it came together quickly!  And the colors really pop off that white, don't they?!

Thanks for stopping in and saying hi!  You make my day with all your lovely comments!  Happy stamping--come join us this week and say hi to the other girls, too! :)

Stampin' Fun With Friends: Sketch
(Have to login to participate, more info here)

(3 sets of 3 rhinestones, 2 patterns, one color of plain cardstock.)

He's just so darling!  And I love the look with different colors!  And then with clear glitter gel pen...I did that on both cards! :)  The rhinestones kind of mimic a sky and the patterns make this a super fun summery card!

Thanks for joining me here on my blog and for taking the time to check out my cards!  I appreciate you!!!  Happy stamping, friends! :)

Card two...

Ready for some more Hero Arts goodness?!  I just adore the stamps I got!!!  I've got another card to show you--utilizing more Hero Arts images and sentiments! :)

Such a fun card!  I just adore this little birdie, don't you?!  And the sentiment is so fun.  I think this card will be for my sister who adores birds and just started her junior year of high school.  I think she'd appreciate a little note, don't you?

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my card!  I appreciate you being here and  hope you come and join in these challenges!  Happy stamping! :)

An eventful few days...

So, it's been an interesting week.  My DH's car died and I broke my foot.  Bad things happen in 3s.  I'm hoping the 3rd bad thing was when my DH's glasses broke a few weeks ago.  Otherwise, I'm on my guard! ;)  The only thing that has made this week completely bearable was receiving my Hero Arts winnings!!!  They had contacted me to say that the Heyday Sentiments was not available so I was a bit bummed...but guess what?!  It was in the package!!!

See~

Of course, I automatically had to start using these sets!!!  I received the Heyday Sentiments set, the Life Is Fun set, the Delicate Blossoms set, along with some pearls.  *SIGH*  So happy!!!  I'll be sharing the cards I've made throughout today!!!

Here's the first one~

(I used 3 rhinestones, 2 words, and 1 color of paper.)

I have adored this gorgeous poppy image (and the other one in this set) for a l-o-n-g time!!!  I was SOOOOO excited to get it for my very own!!! :)  I started by stamping it on white cardstock and then water coloring it in.  I then dry embossed the panel, added some glitter, rhinestones, and a sentiment, and voila!  I love the way it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my card--I hope that you've been inspired to make something today that fits your creative needs and style!  Happy stamping!!! :)

52CCT: August Embellishment Challenge

Wow, Jacqueline chose a really hard embellishment for me personally!  Oh, I guess I should tell you that this post is all about my DT submission for this week's 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown card! ;)

Here's the challenge~

Chipboard is really not something I use much but luckily I had purchased a huge bag of it at a garage sale!  I started by spraying the chipboard N with my homemade glimmer mist and let it dry.  It started to peel out a little, and so I had to tape it down with some double sided tape.  I added some ribbon and twine and put it onto the metallic patterned paper.  I then added the "noel" accent that I had embossed in gold on dark green cardstock.  I hope you like it--it was REALLY hard to photograph!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you come and join in our challenge this week because I LOVE seeing your creations!  And don't forget to take a look at the other DT submissions--you won't be sorry you did!  Merry stamping! :)

It IS easy being green!!!

So, I never really use the color green for monochrome...I think I've done it one other time.  BUT, I was totally inspired by a few challenges and had to make the creation I saw in my head!!!

Here it is~

So, I had this green gradiated thing going on in my head and I though, it would be AWESOME if it was the sentiment...then I thought about using the sketch from Hero Arts.  And some punches and bling.  That's what I came up with! ;)

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek!  I hope you like what you see and that you're inspired to create something fabulous today!  Happy stamping! :)
