Last card--the little birdie again!

I've got another card to show you with the little birdie from the last card.  Isn't he just cute!!!  I adore it!!! :)  and you can color him in so many different ways...I just love it!

Here's the card with him again~

Stampin' Fun With Friends: Sketch
(Have to login to participate, more info here)

(3 sets of 3 rhinestones, 2 patterns, one color of plain cardstock.)

He's just so darling!  And I love the look with different colors!  And then with clear glitter gel pen...I did that on both cards! :)  The rhinestones kind of mimic a sky and the patterns make this a super fun summery card!

Thanks for joining me here on my blog and for taking the time to check out my cards!  I appreciate you!!!  Happy stamping, friends! :)

An eventful few days...

So, it's been an interesting week.  My DH's car died and I broke my foot.  Bad things happen in 3s.  I'm hoping the 3rd bad thing was when my DH's glasses broke a few weeks ago.  Otherwise, I'm on my guard! ;)  The only thing that has made this week completely bearable was receiving my Hero Arts winnings!!!  They had contacted me to say that the Heyday Sentiments was not available so I was a bit bummed...but guess what?!  It was in the package!!!

See~

Of course, I automatically had to start using these sets!!!  I received the Heyday Sentiments set, the Life Is Fun set, the Delicate Blossoms set, along with some pearls.  *SIGH*  So happy!!!  I'll be sharing the cards I've made throughout today!!!

Here's the first one~

(I used 3 rhinestones, 2 words, and 1 color of paper.)

I have adored this gorgeous poppy image (and the other one in this set) for a l-o-n-g time!!!  I was SOOOOO excited to get it for my very own!!! :)  I started by stamping it on white cardstock and then water coloring it in.  I then dry embossed the panel, added some glitter, rhinestones, and a sentiment, and voila!  I love the way it turned out!

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek at my card--I hope that you've been inspired to make something today that fits your creative needs and style!  Happy stamping!!! :)

LIM Sketch: Take 2--Tres Inky!

Yep.  I got inky!  I've been having lots of fun playing around with ink, and so, as I wasn't too happy with my Take 1, I decided to play with the sketch again, this time turning it and using a bit more of an artsy technique.

Here's the card~

(Thanks for this one--I used a sentiment I've never used before!)

(Water coloring and spritzing is soooo much fun!)

This one was so much fun!  I stamped my silhouette floral image and then water colored my inks over the top.  I then sprayed some of my homemade glimmer mist (made with metallic paints and water) just a bit and dried the panel most of the way.  After doing this, I ran it through a dry embossing folder to add some more interest.  A few rhinestones as well for a bit of pizazz.  Layered it onto the card and then added my pennant sentiment and there you have it! :)  Can you see the bird?  I hope so--it looks so pretty in real life!

Okay, let's take a look at another fruit card, shall we?  Made with the same Fiskars stamp set called Fresh Fruit, this is another super fun and CAS card. :)

Here it is~

(I hope this is cute enough...I rather think
the sentiment is darling!)

(I've been really into CAS and am trying
to perfect my technique as well as working
on paper masking technique)

So much fun using these bananas!!!  Instead of glossy accents, as I don't really perceive bananas as "juicy", I used some glitter!  And of course, a few rhinestones!  I've made another banana card as well, going the other way, but you'll have to wait to see it. ;)

Thanks for stopping by--hope you can come and play along at these fun challenges!  Happy stamping! :)

Less is More: Sketch Take 1

Firstly, I'd like to apologize ahead of time.  I shall be MIA for a bit as I've got a family wedding to attend and so I will be leaving my craft area (MINI PANIC ATTACK) and my sweet puppy (GIANT PANIC ATTACK) who has  never been away from us since we got her 2 years ago and be gone for a while.  I'm trying to be happy about it, I'll get to see family I haven't seen in years, but I will so miss all of you and your fabulous creations!  I've already had to spend less time than I'd like with you all, as I've been trying to step it down a bit so it's not huge withdraw when it happens.  So, please know that I am not purposefully ignoring any of you and will try to get back into the swing of things...

Secondly, I've made two cards with this week's Less is More sketch, but I'm partial to one of them and so am saving it for it's very own post! ;)  This post is to showcase the first card that I made with this sketch.

Here's the card~

For these fabulous challenges~

(I've used floral, dry embossing, favorite color--I ADORE yellow tulips!)

I was able to use a new wood grain dry embossing folder from Crop Stop winnings. :)  I also used a stamp set that I purchased a few months ago and still had yet to use, so I also got that out.  Stamp, emboss, add, sparkle, and, voila! ;)

I have another bunch of cards made with my Fiskars Fresh Fruits set as well, but those will have to wait a bit.  I'm short on time and have to share something with you when I'm away from home1 ;)  Happy stamping--come back soon for my other LIM card!!!

Who's ready...

...for a bunch of cards from Mynnette?!  That's right, kids!  I've been making cards but haven't had time to show them to you, so now you have to endure tons of pictures in posts and multiple posts from me tonight!!! ;)  Let's get right to it--this post will feature my CAS cards and then we'll do another post for non-CAS cards! :)  Let's start with some faux stitching, shall we?

Here's my first "stitched" card & details~

My second "stitched" card & details~

For these fabulous challenges~

These cards were SO MUCH FUN to create!!!  I have a PTI set called "Faux Ribbon" that I usually just use the sentiments out of, but I knew immediately when I saw the stitching challenges that I'd have to use the stitched faux ribbon image in this set!  I had lots of fun randomly stamping my lines and then finding the perfect place for my sentiments and rhinestones.  I will definitely have to use this idea next time I need a super quick card!

Here's another CAS card~

(I made my own designer paper...)

When I saw that the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays, I immediately thought sympathy card.  But I didn't want it to be completely black, so to make my own designer paper, I started by dry embossing a piece of black cardstock with my Sizzix purse.  After it had gone through the machine, I sponged on  some silver ink and added some rhinestones.  Then I stamped a sentiment in the silver onto another small piece of black cardstock and punched it out, cut it down, and added it to my card.  Easy peasy, and I LOVE the way it turned out!

Thanks for taking a peek at my CAS cards--come back in a bit to see some non-CAS cards!  Happy stamping, friends! ;)

Welcome to...

...Mynnette epically fails and tries to redeem herself night! ;)  Yes.  I mess up.  A LOT.  I occasionally (putting it lightly) HATE strongly dislike my creations.  And since I rarely share those, I felt like I should today.  Because it is a reminder to myself to DO BETTER.  (DISCLAIMER--you may think this card is ok/pretty/love it...but I DO NOT.  Thank you for your sympathy.  This is not a pity party.  I just want to share the fact that I do not always make beautiful cards like I would like to.)

Here is my epic fail~

Epic Fail details~

Was supposed to be for these fabulous challenges~

(I was trying to be inspired by Heather's
amazing layered borders...FAILED.)

I will not be linking up this completely, utterly, epic fail to these fabulous challenges.  But please play along with them!  Like I said above, this is not a pity party.  Nor am I searching for comments like, "Oh, Mynnette!  I have NO CLUE what you're talking about--this is lovely!"  You'd be lying.  So please, just don't. ;)  On the other hand, Susan, Heather, or Cheryl, if you've popped by, I'd like to have your opinion on where I went wrong, please!!!  I've tried to redeem myself.  Please let me know if you think my attempt has done so!

Here is my chance at redemption~

(LOVE using dry embossed lines on my one layer cards!)

(This is the ultimate happy quote)

Less is More: One layer + 3s
(groups of 3 rhinestones, group of 3 flowers,
groups of 3 dry embossed lines)

Yes.  This is way more to my liking!  I'm sorry about the awful photos--my DH is working on a lighting solution for me since I HATE strongly dislike spending money on things we can do for ourselves.  Anyway, back to the card!  MUCH BETTER.  My favorite one layer embellishment--dry embossed lines--with a simple sentiment, simple image, a bit of bling, and a bit of glitter!  I felt much better after making this card.  I was really worried that my mojo was gone!!!  Oh, and I made a third card, but you'll have to come back later to see it as I'm entering it into some of the same challenges as mentioned above. ;)

Thanks for stopping by--I hope to see you again and I can't wait to see your fabulous creations out in the blog world!!! Happy stamping, friends! :)

Less Is More--Inspiring!

Well, I am almost getting this in right under the wire!  I have been having a horrible time missing challenges lately!  And I haven't gotten a chance to play along with Less is More lately...which makes me very sad!  So, I knew I HAD to play along this time!  PLUS, the challenge is a fabulous one!  We're to make cards that are inspired by the LIM header!

Here's my card~

For these fabulous challenges~

I hope I've made the LIM gals proud--there's not as much white space as I'd like, but I think it turned out really nicely!  I used a Pink Paislee set called "Spring Jubilee" and some SU! punches and, voila!  Oh, and a bit of bling--there's a bit o' bling on the header, did you notice?  Thanks for popping by!  I hope you join in these fabulous challenges!  Happy stamping, friends! :)
