Paper Sweeties April Inspiration Challenge #30 - 'Hoppy Easter'

Hello, peeps! ;)  I'm back with another card for the April Paper Sweeties challenge!  Debbie has a super SWEET inspiration board for your crafting pleasure, so take a peek...

Isn't that super fun?!  I just love Peeps--they totally remind me of spring and Easter!  I was inspired by the sweet chick and the fun colors.  Come and see my creation...

I started by stamping this sweet chick image from the Hippity Hoppity Easter Wishes stamp set and then paper piecing it.  I added a couple of rhinestones for some sparkle.  The beak and feet were colored in using a Sakura orange glitter gel pen.

Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Wagon Add On: Bloom and Grow stamp set.  I added some turquoise ribbon in between the image and sentiment to add an anchor.  Three pink rhinestones added a bit more shine.

Finally, I layered this main panel onto a card base that had been prepped with various patterned paper layers and a few turquoise rhinestones.  I think all the layers really make this card fun, don't you?  I'd love to hear what you think in the comments below!

That's all for me today, friends!  Come and join our challenge and grab these goodies from the Paper Sweeties store!  Check out the other gals' cards, too!

Here's the inspiration list~

See you soon with my April release projects!

HUGS and happy stamping, sweeties!

Great Impressions: Dog Tag...Literally!

Hi, friends!  It's time for me to share another creation using fabulous stamps from the Great Impressions online store! Today I have a cute tag to share--it's a DOG TAG! I don't usually make tags, but this stamp just needed to become one. :)  Come and take a peek...

I started by stamping F296 Dog Square onto some white card.  I colored in the different panels using Sakura glitter gel pens for shine.  I used primary colors for a fun, bold, and bright look.

I added the panel to a tag that was made using patterned paper and black card.  The top was gussied up with some yellow frilly ribbon, baker's twine, and a glittery red foam heart.  An eyelet at the top of the tag helps to keep the tag intact.

I just adore the way this turned out!  I think it's just super darling and fun!  What do you think?  I would love for you to let me know by leaving a comment below!

That's all for me today!  I'll be back next Monday with another creation using stamps from the Great Impressions store.  I hope you join in our current challenge, and, if you use Great Impressions stamps, link them up in our Customer Gallery, too!  HUGS and happy stamping to you all!

Inspired By Stamping Products Used:

Jane Austen Inspired

Hello, friends!  I hope your week is going great and that you've taken some time to craft! ;)  I'm here today with a card for the C.R.A.F.T challenge--INSPIRED BY A MOVIE.  Great Impressions is sponsoring this time, so hop over for a chance to win some free stamps!  Come and take a peek at my card...

I was inspired by the movie Emma, based on the book by Jane Austen.  Technically, I believe my card could be inspired by any Jane Austen novel set as a movie, but I chose Emma. ;)  I started by stamping and head embossing the main image, H147 Romantic Collage, onto some distressed looking patterned paper.  I then used a water color pen to watercolor the image using pink, green, blue, and brown inks.  This was fussy cut before it was added to the card.

Next, I created a card base that included patterned paper, a doily, some pearls and rhinestones, and the sentiment (E859 Forever Yours) head embossed directly onto the base.  A couple of pearls were added behind the image.  A piece of lace was added to the heart shaped pin to fill in more of the blank space and add texture.

After it was all put together, I questioned my decision to mat the patterned paper with brown paper.  I'm thinking now black would have been better, but I don't know.  All in all, I think this card came together rather well!  What do you think?  I'd love to hear your opinion in the comments below!

That's all for me today!  I hope you hop over and play along with this week's C.R.A.F.T. challenge for a chance to win some goodies from Great Impressions!  Thank you SO much for stopping by today--I very much appreciate your visits and kind words.  Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping, friends! :)

The Stamps of Life: MORE Candles + A Tutorial Video!

Welcome back, friends!  I'm so glad you're here today!  I have another FUN birthday card to share with you, using products from The Stamps of Life, and I've used pointillism again to color my images!  I created a video tutorial on how to do this fun technique, so make sure to stop by my YouTube channel and check it out! It's also added at the bottom of this post, so that's an easier way to watch should you choose. :)  Take a gander at the card...

I started by creating the candles.  I stamped the images from the candles4birthday stamp set using Licorice ink and then colored them in with the pointillism technique.  I LOVE the fun texture that pointillism gives to lined images!  I then set them aside.

Here's the video on how to color with pointillism~

I stamped the sentiment, also from the candles4birthday set, with Licorice ink and punched it out.  I layered it onto a punched scallop and added some liquid pearls for texture.  This was added to the card base that had been embossed with the NEW Flower Power embossing folder and had baker's twine wrapped around for added color.

I then layered the candles behind the sentiment.  I adhered them using dimensional foam so that they would stand out from the background a little more.  I think this looks great!  What do you think?  I'd love to hear your opinion in the comments below! :)

That's all for me today, friends!  Thank you SO MUCH for stopping by--I love it when friends come and visit!  I hope you take some time to create today and that you grab these goodies from The Stamps of Life, too!  See you soon--HUGS and happy stamping!
