Charity Never Faileth

Well, my brother needed my crafting expertise...so I couldn't turn him away! He is in a congregation of our church for singles ages 18-30. The girls always do a ton of nice things for the boys, so my brother wanted to reciprocate by doing something that would throw the girls off. They decided brownies. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE a good brownie, but come on! They could do better than that! Enter his idea to enlist me...this is what I came up with. A nice, simple, beautiful card for each of the girls. Since our church's women's group (Relief Society) motto is "Charity never faileth," I decided to make the card go along the lines of charity. I have a TON of red cardstock from a super excellent moving sale, so I decided red and hearts would be appropriate. The inside will be a scripture and short note about how each is apprecitated. The quote on the outside reads, "The greatest gift is a portion of thyself," -Ralph Waldo Emerson. I thought that it went right along with the charity aspect of the card. Anyway, wish me luck as I allow about 10 18-30 year old single men into my crafting sanctuary! I hope you take the time to make something to thank someone who's helped you in your life today! Happy stamping!

Bookmarks!

A very dear friend that I work with gave me the cutest bookmarks a while back. She and I decided that we would get together and design some other ones. I LOVE THEM! They are so easy and you can get EIGHT out of an 8.5"x11" piece of paper! The dimensions are 2.75"x4.25" (except the bottom one--that's 2 1/8" x 5/5") and then they are folded in half. So, what's so different about these bookmarks, you ask? Well, they are magnetic! The clip to the top of your page and so they don't fall out and your page is already saved! We used a border punch along the bottom of the front of the magnet. I used all Stampin' Up! materials to make these. My favorite is the big yellow flower with "i love you". What a great gift for someone who loves to read (I gave away five of these)! I hope you are inspired to create OR read something today! Happy crafting and reading!

Aquamarine

So, I mentioned earlier that I won a prize from EK Success for National Craft Month. And that it is AWESOME! By the way, if you haven't taken the chance to go to the EK Success website and sign up for a contest or something, you should! Anyway, this is what I made with the aquamarine Swarovski crystal beads! I made it to wear on Easter. Of course I then had to go and purchase something to match (found at Khol's for $8--cute short sleeved turtle neck sweater). Anyway, I hope this inspires you to create today! Happy crafting!!!

So....Easter is over. I hope you enjoyed the celebration of the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! I know that it's a few days gone, but I wanted to share this little treat that I made to give to family and friends. It's BUNNY POOP! AND, the printable's free! So, right click and save, crafters! It measures 3"x3". I hope you took the time to create some sort of Easter treat for those you love. Happy crafting!
