LIM Sketch: Take 2--Tres Inky!

Yep.  I got inky!  I've been having lots of fun playing around with ink, and so, as I wasn't too happy with my Take 1, I decided to play with the sketch again, this time turning it and using a bit more of an artsy technique.

Here's the card~

For these fabulous challenges~

(Thanks for this one--I used a sentiment I've never used before!)

(Water coloring and spritzing is soooo much fun!)

This one was so much fun!  I stamped my silhouette floral image and then water colored my inks over the top.  I then sprayed some of my homemade glimmer mist (made with metallic paints and water) just a bit and dried the panel most of the way.  After doing this, I ran it through a dry embossing folder to add some more interest.  A few rhinestones as well for a bit of pizazz.  Layered it onto the card and then added my pennant sentiment and there you have it! :)  Can you see the bird?  I hope so--it looks so pretty in real life!

Okay, let's take a look at another fruit card, shall we?  Made with the same Fiskars stamp set called Fresh Fruit, this is another super fun and CAS card. :)

Here it is~

(I hope this is cute enough...I rather think
the sentiment is darling!)

(I've been really into CAS and am trying
to perfect my technique as well as working
on paper masking technique)

So much fun using these bananas!!!  Instead of glossy accents, as I don't really perceive bananas as "juicy", I used some glitter!  And of course, a few rhinestones!  I've made another banana card as well, going the other way, but you'll have to wait to see it. ;)

Thanks for stopping by--hope you can come and play along at these fun challenges!  Happy stamping! :)

Another digi card...

This one's pretty in pink!  I've used a digital freebie from Fred She Said, made for Operation Write Home, and one of my digital sentiments.  If you like the sentiment, you should join in my blog candy--you'll get 8 of them if you win! :)

Here's the card~

For these fabulous challenges~

So, what do you think?  I LOVE it--I think it turned fabulously!  It's actually quite prettier than I thought it would--I'm still learning how to "color". ;)

Okay, so onto a more personal note.  I was giving the first workshop in my home for literally about a year, and all of a sudden, one of my friends started pointing behind me and saying, "Water, Mynnette!  Water!"  It took me a bit to figure out what was going on...there was WATER dripping from my ceiling!!!  My DH was in the shower, and some water had leaked through a not so good seal in the tub and was leaking onto my craft area! EEK!!!  Luckily, all we need to do is re-caulk the tub and then the problem is solved.  All the gals helped me move my treasures and nothing crafty was harmed.  BUT--it was kind of an adventure! ;)

Hope you like my card, thanks for stopping by!  I hope you have a restful Sabbath--I'll be back in a bit to share some more digi cards!!!  Happy stamping! :)

GLORIOUS Greens!

LOVE me some Gingersnap Challenges (they're open for ever so long--it's awesome)! And they've got an AMAZING color challenge going on right now: Glorious Greens!!! I'm not really a monochromatic crafter, but I LOVE when I get to leave my comfort zone to create, so this is fabulous!

I was also browsing over at the Stampalot challenge (monthly--it's so nice!) and they've asked us to use the theme "In the Garden." SO, you know what I thought? OF COURSE YOU DO!!! Combine these two to create an amazing card! So I did...at least I think it's amazing! We'll see what you think.

Here's my card~

Some details~

So, is it glorious and green enough? I had so much fun using many techniques to create this! The middle "flower" is a paper punched and created flower with other punched shapes layered onto it. SO easy and such a neat handmade touch! I used patterned paper to cut out the ferns on the background and the polka dot panel has green embossing around the edge. I wanted it to look organic. I think it does! It looks like it will just keep growing! :)

I hope you like this as much as I do, and I hope you join in the fun at these two challenges--I LOVE seeing what others come up with!!! Happy stamping! :)

Softly Said

Hello! We've been having strange weather here in KS. It was 65* today! What is up with that?! It's the middle of winter and January for crying out loud! So, since it's apparently no longer winter, I've got a soft and springlike card for you all tonight!

Here it is~

And details~

I've used a new stamp set from Pink Paislee's Nantucket collection for the main flower image. Isn't is GORGEOUS?! I also used one of my favorite techniques--double embossing. I used it on the sentiment. I heat embossed the sentiment and then dry embossed the sentiment panel. So much fun! What do you think? I really think it turned out beautifully. :)

I hope my little creation inspires you to create something fabulous today! Pop on over to the challenges I've entered in order to play along--you will have so much fun! :) Happy stamping!!!

I'm entering this little gem into the following challenges~
Stampalot Challenges: Monochromatic
Try it on Tuesday: All Your Own Work
