Kennedy Grace Creations: Hugs to You!

Hello again, my friends!  I'm back with another fun card using sequins from the Kennedy Grace Creations store!  I had lots of fun with this one.  I know it's not really close to Valentine's Day or anything, but I really wanted to make a small CAS love themed card with the *NEW* Watermelon Spritzer mix, so I did!  Take a peek...

I punched a heart shape out of the white focal panel, then stamped a sentiment and laid the panel aside.  I took a piece of red cardstock and glued sequins to it, then layered the white piece on top using dimensional foam.  A glittery chipboard arrow, a large sequin from the Watermelon Spritzer mix, and a glittery red heart were added for a bit more texture and glam.

I REALLY love the way this fun little card turned out!  I want to experiment with all kinds of shapes now--I think flowers and butterflies are next on the agenda! ;)  What do you think?  I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Thank you so much for stopping by today, friends!  I hope that you take some time today to craft and create!  If you're looking for some GORGEOUS sequins, the place to start is the Kennedy Grace Creations store, so hop over and see what they have in stock today!  Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping, friends! :)

Inspired By Stamping: Valentine Countdown

Hi, all!  I am SUPER excited for my post today!  As soon as I saw the *NEW* My Valentine's stamp set from the Inspired By Stamping store, I just KNEW that I'd need to make a Valentine countdown frame with it!  It was really a pretty quick project because the stamps do most of the work for you!  I'll narrate how I made this project, then do a recap list at the end.  Take a peek at my completed project before I take you step by step...

Isn't that just super fun?!  I went with a traditional Valentine color scheme--black, red, white, and gold for shine and elegance.  The first step in creating this project is to find a frame you want to use.  I had one that was in serious need of an upgrade.  It was more of a shadowbox type frame.

I'm not sure if you can tell or not, but there is a gold mat that was inside the frame with an oval opening.  I added some patterned paper to fill in that gap.  I then added three strips of ribbon across the frame to attach my tags.

The tags were super fun to make!  I used washi tapes, red glittery hearts, glittery chipboard arrows, gold stickers, flowers, other miscellaneous embellishments, and the My Valentine's set for the tags themselves.

To attach the tags, I utilized hair clips.  I just hot glued some flowers to the tops and then threaded them through the hole.  You could also use tiny clothespins for this.  Those were actually my first choice, but I couldn't find the ones I KNOW I have somewhere in my craft area. ;)

I am SO happy with how this project turned out!  I hope you like it, too!  I'd love for you to let me know your thoughts in the comments below!  And now, like I stated above, here's a quick list of steps to make this project:
  1. Select frame.  Add patterned paper and ribbon.
  2. Make tags using the My Valentine's set, flowers, and other desired embellishments.
  3. Make clips to hold tags in place temporarily by hot gluing flowers onto the tops of hair clips.
  4. Attach tags to frame.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, friends!  That's all I have for you today, but I'll be back soon with more inspiration using fabulous products from the Inspired By Stamping online store.  Until then, HUGS and happy stamping, friends! :)

52CCT: August Embellishment Challenge

Wow, Jacqueline chose a really hard embellishment for me personally!  Oh, I guess I should tell you that this post is all about my DT submission for this week's 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown card! ;)

Here's the challenge~

My card~

Details~

Chipboard is really not something I use much but luckily I had purchased a huge bag of it at a garage sale!  I started by spraying the chipboard N with my homemade glimmer mist and let it dry.  It started to peel out a little, and so I had to tape it down with some double sided tape.  I added some ribbon and twine and put it onto the metallic patterned paper.  I then added the "noel" accent that I had embossed in gold on dark green cardstock.  I hope you like it--it was REALLY hard to photograph!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you come and join in our challenge this week because I LOVE seeing your creations!  And don't forget to take a look at the other DT submissions--you won't be sorry you did!  Merry stamping! :)

Marvelo{us} Love + WOYWW

Hello! I have another example of Faux Enamel for you tonight and another pic of my desk for What's On Your Workdesk Wednesday! :) (Click on the link for an explanation of how to do this technique.) This is another card I'll be giving my DH as part of my 14 Days of Valentines for him. :)

Here's my desk today (NO judging, LOL)~

Here's the card~

Details~

I'm really happy with how this turned out. I'm sure that my DH will love it...I'll have to make sure to give it to him far away from the last Faux Enamel card I made so that he won't realize how similar they are. ;)

I'd like to submit my work into the following challenges~

14 Days of Valentines & Technique Tuesday!

Hello! So, I've got a dilly of a card for you today! :) It's a Valentine! And I made it especially for a special reason! :) Okay, so I have a feeling I'll be making quite a few Valentines in the next few weeks, and I don't have too many people to give them to, so I'll be doing a 14 days of Valentines for my husband! Basically, I'll be giving him a Valentine a day until the actual day starting on February 1st. :)

So, here's one of them~

Details~

What do you think? I had a blast creating this one!!! I've used chipboard elements. But, I've done something a little different with them...I'll explain...

On the square piece, I added patterned paper over it, inked it up with Versamark ink and then heat embossed it with Kaleidoscope embossing powder. I did something similar with the heart--I just inked up the "naked" chipboard with Versamark and then embossed it in gold, then inked it again with Versamark and then embossed it with Kaleidoscope embossing powder. I'm sure it's already a technique, but I've decided to call it FAUX ENAMEL. So, there ya go! A new *kinda* start to my old Technique Tuesday! ;)

Doesn't it look neat?! I tried to get okay pictures of the shimmer, but they all turned out too dark. :( Just imagine how bright and shiny it is in real life in your head. Isn't it amazing?! ;)

I hope you've been inspired to create something pretty today! :) Happy stamping--and happy faux enameling! ;)

I'm submitting this into the following challenges~
*CASual Fridays~CAS plus chipboard
*Stamping Boutique~ 12 (I used 12 supplies to make my card: brown ink, white cardstock, ribbon, chipboard, dimensionals, patterned paper, Versamark pad, Kaleidoscope embossing powder, gold embossing powder, MONO adhesive, punch, and heat gun.)
