MHKDesigns: Valentine Roses FREEBIE!


Hi, friends! I have decided to do something NEW for the NEW YEAR! Each month I will be providing you with a freebie panel using that month's release set from the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop! They will all be 8" x 10" so that they can be printed and used as home decor.

Here's what I did with the freebie.


I printed the freebie onto thick white cardstock. I then colored the roses in with Spectrum Noir markers. I chose to use color blocking to keep the image as simple as possible, and I love the way it turned out! I hope you do, too!

MHKDesigns: Valentine Roses


Hi, all! I'm back with another card using the *NEWLY RELEASED* Valentine Roses digital stamp set from the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop! I used a variety of patterned paper packs to create this card, as well as this *NEW* set. Take a peek...

I created the focal panel for this card in photoshop using the Digital Paper Fill technique to "color" in the image from the Valentine Roses digital stamp set. The paper packs used are Rosy Posy, Get Well Flowers, and French Country.


I "rearranged" this simple sentiment from the Valentine Roses digital stamp set to fit inside of a circle, then recolored it using THIS technique. The sentiment circle was punched out and given dimension and I added a bit of glitter gel pen for a shiny shadow effect. A tiny enamel heart was added, as well.


Some shiny washi tape, twine, and a flower shaped button finished the focal panel off. I then matted it with black and added it to a craft card base. What do you think? I would love to hear in the comments below!

Sending Love to Dawn: An MHKDesigns Blog Hop


Hello, dear friends! Today the MHKDesigners are banding together to tell one of our own dear gals, Dawn Bennett, that we are thinking of her during a difficult time in her life. Dawn recently lost her mother-in-law, and we wanted to let her know how much we care! We hope you take some time to leave Dawn some love, then hop with us to see the cards our team has created in her honor.

I used the *NEW* Sentimental Lily digital stamp set to create this card. I created my focal panel in Photoshop, then die cut it with a stitched rectangle die. 



I matted the focal panel onto navy card that was also die cut with a stitched rectangle die. I added some ribbon and enamel dots to add more texture, finish, and a bit of shine. I also added some glaze gel pen to the sentiment to create an embossed effect. I am happy with this card, and hope Dawn is, as well! What are your thoughts? MHKDesigns: February Challenge + Valentine Roses Release!


Hello and happy February, everyone! I'm here today to share a card for this month's challenge at MHKDesigns. I've revamped how my Etsy shop will be running this year, so our challenge posts will ALSO include a monthly release set! This month's set is called...

I decided to play around with Photoshop and create a two card set that uses different colors, but the same effect. Here are my cards...


I made the image from the Valentine Roses digital stamp set white, gave it a drop shadow, and added background and texture in Photoshop.



I kept them one layer, but added some sequins and liquid pearls for added shine and texture. I love these, and hope you do, too! Please let me know your thoughts in the comments below!
