Not as CAS...

Hello!  Ready for some more cards?  These ones are not so CAS (one is kinda, but not really) but were equally fun to make!  I've gotta get to some real life things soon, so I'll make this quick!  I'm sorry for this, but there are three cards in this post...

First card~

For these fabulous challenges~

(Inspired by the vase of roses and the Victorian feel.)

(I water colored my image.)

(Inspired by the colors and the simplicity of the photo.)

This card was really fun to make.  I made a card front using a free digi image found HERE and then water colored it.  I added some glitter glue, a sentiment from PTI's "Simply Jane" stamp set, and then some bits of bling.  I LOVE IT.  I think this will be one of those cards that I have a hard time giving away.  I actually might frame it and put it somewhere in my home.  Let's keep going!!!

Second card~

For these fabulous challenges~

I also used an old sketch from Sketchbook Saturdays~

This card was inspired by the book/movie "Little Dorrit" by Charles Dickens.  There is a scene in the most recent film adaptation where a room has this luscious red and black wallpaper with a brocade pattern.  Hence my brocade embossing.  The sentiment is also about the two main characters in the movie--Amy Dorrit and Arthur Clennam.  They are so fantastic!!!  You should check this book/movie out--it's fabulous!  I also used punches on this card, since it's the dessert option at Dynamic Duos.  I used a border punch and my main image is made from two punches, plus the red punched leaves!!!

Third & last card~

(I've used a brand new to me digi from ADFD!)

This card uses a brand new to me digi from ADFD!  I masked off the image in order to get script only on the background of the image and then colored the peacock, added glitter and pearls, and put it on the card!  There is also script on my patterned paper and lots of circles throughout this card!  Here is a TIP: when you print off a page of digis onto cardstock, print another copy of it onto plain computer printing paper in case you decide you want to use masks later.  You can keep these in a file folder for later use!

That's it.  Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you're having a fabulous day and I will see you soon!  Happy stamping! :)

Insomniacs, UNITE!

Do you know how many times I've typed untie instead of unite?  Yeah.  It's that bad.  Okay, so even though it is 2:00 in the wee morning hours here, I am unable to sleep.  So I made a card!

Here it is~

For these fabulous challenges~

(ribbon, glitter, rhinestones, patterned paper)

As you can see, there are MANY textures going on in this card.  We've got the dry embossed black panel, the sheer black ribbon, the rough and glittery sandpaper specialty paper, the glitter on the perfume, and the texture rhinestones.  I may have gone a bit texture crazy.  The image is from A Day For Daisies and I colored it in with watercolor pens and red ink and, as it smeared, got a bit inky with it.  I then decided to add the glitter and rhinestones because all gorgeous perfume bottles have pizazz!  And then I decided to use some of my Pink Paislee vintage stamps to create more interest because apparently I do that a lot now...  Is it too much?  You can be the judge!  I really like this card!

Thanks for the fabulous challenges, all!  I hope some of you join in the fun--I want to see what you create!  Happy crafting!!! :)

One last card for Digi Haven...Using A Day For Daisies!!!

I just ADORE the digis over at A Day For Daisies!  I'm trying to cut back on my spending, though, and was so excited to see that a freebie digi is given for each fortnightly challenge. SCORE!  And so now I try to play along each time!  I've created a card with the current freebie found here--it's gorgeous!  It'll be available for about another 2 days...get it while you can!

Here's the card I've made~

For these fabulous challenges~
A Day for Daisies:
Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue

Digi Haven:
Floral Digis

Addicted to Stamps:
Make Your Mark
Papertake Weekly:
Bingo (I chose punches, glitter, blooms)

bingo grid june 2012

I printed out the digi, colored it in with markers, stamped around the background to create more interest, added crackle accents and then highlighted some edges of the bloom with glitter glue...or is it called stickles now?  Anyway, I layered it onto a shimmer card and added my embellies.  Ta da!

Hope you like it, and I hope to see you at these fabulous challenges!!!  Happy stamping, friends! :)

The last two for today...I think! ;D

LAST post for today, I promise, friends!  I've got two last cards to show you, and then I'll have to go and get crafty! ;)  Also, DON'T FORGET THAT I HAVE SOME DIGI BLOG CANDY I'M GIVING AWAY!!!  Let's get started with the actual post now, shall we...

First card~

For these fabulous challenges~

I've used the free digi from ADFD and then I decided to make teeny tiny pinwheels out of patterned paper.  This is the first time I've ever done it--and it was way easier than I thought it would be!  I LOVE the way this turned out--I think it's darling! And we may be making this card at my July workshop, I think!

Second card~

For these fabulous challenges~

Okay, this might sound silly, but I've had some washi tape for quite some time and haven't used it.  Because I was worried that I wouldn't use it RIGHT.  How do you use a craft supply WRONG? was my husband's question.  OKAY, he's right!  And this is what I came up with!  A washi tape sunrise!  Some strategically placed bling on top of the monochrome crumpled image with some pearly glimmer mist to finish it off!

FINALLY!

I have been trying to enter a challenge over at A Day For Daisies FOR A LONG TIME.  Seriously.  For about 3 months--ever since I discovered it!  So imagine my delight when my printer FINALLY decided to print my digi images off correctly!  HOORAY!!!

Here's the card I've made~

Details~

I used patterned paper that I have had for over a year--it's about time that it got some show time!  It's fabulous!  I've also used rhinestones and an enamel rose that was purchased at the recent famous craft store garage sale (details about some of my finds here) and some ribbon and gold glimmer mist that I've had for forever!  OH, and the amazing free digi image from A Day For Daisies!!!

I'd like to enter this into these challenges~

A Day For Daisies: Go Vintage & Add Polka Dots (you can't tell, but the skirt and leg warmers are polka dotted as well as some of my papers)

Top Tip Tuesday: Dig Out The Old! (TIP: Rotate/reorganize your stored embellishments every so often so that you can remember what you own--that way you don't over buy/re-buy things!)

Pile It On: Patterns: Mix the Scales (I've used teeny tiny polka dots and a patterned paper that has all sorts of sizes of patterns!)

On a completely unrelated note, my cold is progressing and continuing to make my life oh so fabulous.  Luckily I get out for summer break tomorrow!  HUZZAH!!!

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you like my newest endeavor into digital stamp artwork!  AND, I hope you join in the fun at these fabulous challenges!  Happy stamping, friends!
