Sending Sunshine Blog Hop

Hello, friends! Today I am participating in a blog hop honoring Jeanie Ellis. Jeanie has been going through a rough patch in life, so some of her blogging and crafting friends have come together to send her well-wishes! Our theme is "Sending Sunshine", so I went with a sunflower card. Take a peek...

I used some beautiful products sent to me from Inlovearts for this card, specifically the Mesh Weaving Circles dies and Oil Painting Style Sunflower stamps. The cardstock, inks, bling, and ribbon are all from The Stamps of Life.

If you would like to know how to create a woven ribbon border like I have created here, please head over to my YouTube channel and watch THIS VIDEO!

I really love this card, and I very much hope that it brought joy to Jeanie's day. Jeanie, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that you will feel peace during this difficult time, and know that I am here for you, as are the rest of us participating today!

Here is the full hop list:

In Honor of Bill Blog Hop

Hello, friends. Today I am sharing a very special post to honor the lives of family members of blogging friends who have recently passed away. My dear and long standing, blog friend, Sue, lost her brother, Bill, to esophageal cancer last week. In addition to this sad loss, three other friends, Em, Nandini and Mary Ellen, have also recently had losses. Em lost a long-time and dear family friend suddenly, Nandini lost an aunt-in-law and Mary Ellen also lost her brother in January. Ladies, you are in my thoughts and prayers!

I have created a paper pieced card to share with you for this hop. It has a blue/periwinkle theme, as periwinkle is the color of esophageal cancer awareness. After photographing it, I feel it's more blue, but I did try to find the periwinkle. Here is the card...

I used three different patterned papers from my stash, all from Stampin' Up!, a floral stamp set from Spellbinders, and a sentiment from a retired Stampin' Up! stamp set. I also used some pearls from my stash and white liquid pearls to accent the punched scallop border of the focal panel. I do think this turned out lovely, and I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Here is the list of participants, linked to their blogs:

Thank you so much for stopping by today, friends. Please do visit Sue, EmNandini, and Mary Ellen to leave some love as they mourn the loss of loved ones. If you have time, please complete the hop and leave some love with the other participants, as well. Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping, dear friends!

I created my cards using clip art from Teachers Pay Teachers, which is my prize for this hop! I colored the balloon image in Adobe Photoshop, then layered the panel, printed, and added it to a card base! Take a peek...

Here is a close up of the digital panel~

My video shares not only how to color the image and create the panel, but also how to quickly recolor the panel so that you have a variety of color schemes to work with! Take a peek at the other color schemes I came up with...

Here's the video on how to create this panel!
(It's better on YouTube, if you have time!)

MHKDesigns: Here For You SURPRISE Blog Hop!

Hello, my friends!  Welcome to a SPECIAL SURPRISE blog hop for my dear friend, Julie Odil!  Julie was recently diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoma, so this hop is our was of letting her know that we are here for her.  You should have come here from the MHKDesigns blog.  If you didn't, please hop over to THIS POST for a complete list of participants!

Along with this hop, there is a special release digital stamp set and paper pack from the MHKDesigns Etsy shop designed specifically for sending get well cards to those struggling with different forms of cancer.  The colors of the paper pack are lavender (all cancers awareness), lime green (lymphoma awareness), pink (breast cancer awareness), teal (ovarian cancer awareness), and peach (cervical cancer awareness).  Take a peek at these products...

I used these two products to make a card for Julie.  I was inspired by the hop banner, as well.  Come see the completed card...

I printed an image from the Get Well Flowers digital stamp set onto white cardstock, then colored it in with colored pencils.  I added some Diamond Stickles for a bit of shine and texture (hard to photograph, sorry!), as well as some faux stitching.  The sentiment, also from the Get Well Flowers digital stamp set, was printed onto velum before being added over the top of the image panel.

The card base was prepped with some faux stitched papers from the Get Well Flowers digital paper pack.  These papers were also faux stitched to match the sentiment panel.  A doily and a smattering of rhinestones finished off this creation.   I hope that you love this card, Julie--it was made especially for YOU!

Julie, all of us are here for YOU during this difficult time, my friend!  You are so loved, and I want you to know that many prayers are being sent upwards for you.  I hope you feel our love today as you hop around and see what we all have in store for you!

Inside of my card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today, friends!  I know that Julie needs our support now more than ever, so let's band together and show her that we are here for her!  Your next stop on the hop is the lovely Asha.  Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping, friends! :)

Hop to Stop + MHKDesigns

Hi, friends!  I feel so honored to let you know that MHKDesigns is sponsoring the Hop to Stop this month!  One lucky winner will be chosen to win three stamp sets and three paper packs from the MHKDesigns store!  You'll receive the products below, plus one set and one paper pack of your choice!

So, what is this hop all about?  October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month and this hop is designed to raise awareness about domestic violence, an issue that impacts 1 in 4 women, and the resources that are available to assist victims of domestic violence.

This hop will go until the 14th of the month, and winners will be announced on the 17th. Any type of papercraft/mixed media art project is welcome, as long as it *features* the color purple (domestic violence awareness color).

For more information about domestic violence, its impacts, and available resources, visit the National Resource Center on Domestic Violence

I made two creations for this hop.  They use products that I'm offering as prizes.  My first creation is a card using the Rainbow of Ribbons stamp set, Rainbow of Ribbons paper pack, Positively Purple paper pack, and Butterfly Wisdom stamp set.  Check it out...

I used the purple ribbon paper and image as my focal panel, then added one of the butterflies from the Butterfly Wisdom set as an embellishment.  Some rhinestones were added for shine and finish.

The sentiment is from the Rainbow of Ribbons set.  I punched and layered it, then added a row of liquid pearls to anchor it.

The card base was gussied up with some Positively Purple paper, a doily, some ribbon, rhinestones, and liquid pearls.  All purples and white, of course!

The next project is an art journal page that I decided to frame.  It will be given as a gift. :)  It uses the Butterfly Wisdom set.  Take a peek...

I used the collage image from the set and watercolored the images.  I added washi tape around it and in the middle, then added a fussy cut sentiment.  Some glitter and liquid pearls were added as accents.

I really love how these projects both turned out.  I hope you do, too!  Please leave me a comment below to let me know your thoughts!

GIVEAWAY ALERT!

I will also be giving away these four specially made products to one person who comments here on my post...for every 20 comments! That's right, the more comments, the more chances to win!  Tell your friends! :)

Thank you so much for stopping by, friends!  I hope you take some time in the next few days to make something and link up with the Hop to Stop!  Some of my gals are also sharing samples with these products, so check out their blogs, too!

Here are the links~

That's all for me today.  I'll be back soon with other crafty pursuits!  Until then, HUGS and happy {digital} stamping! :)
