CCM: Choose Three/My Last DT Post

Hi, friends!  It's with a sad heart that I announce that this is my last DT post for Crafty Cardmakers.  I am going back to school in the fall and have had to step down from a lot of my current DTs and while this makes me really sad, I am truly happy that I'm making this huge step in my life.  Thank you to Lin and all the amazing gals on this DT!  I've had a blast working with all of you!

Anyway, this fortnight our challenge for you is to choose 3 of the following techniques: embossing (wet or dry), distressing, masking, make your own flowers, paper piecing/patchwork, shrink plastic.  I chose to use dry embossing, distressing, and make your own flowers!!!

I decided to go uber  CAS and do a one layer card as men usually don't like a lot of fuss on their cards.  I've used a simple sentiment by Papertrey Ink and some aliens from the video game "Space Invaders" from a dollar stamp set I picked up a while back for this creation.

CCM: Blooming Images

Well, we've got a fun challenge for you this time at Crafty Cardmakers!  Our hostess is Marie.  This is what she's looking for, "I do love my flowers and this time I would like flower images to be the main focus of the card. No people, no landscapes. Just flower images. A single rose, a poinsettia, a daisy... you get it. Can be flowers in a vase or just the flowers. Of course you can still decorate with flowers, butterflies or what you feel like, but the image is a flower of some kind, NOT a tree and NOT a person holding a flower."   Hope this is clear enough! :)

Here's my card~

Details~

I kept this VERY simple--one layer, actually!  The floral image is by Stampin' Up! and my sentiments are by Tim Holtz, all ink and the rhinestones are by Stampin' Up!, and my glimmer mist was DIY.  I colored in my floral image with markers and then spritzed it with my DIY glimmer mist and then stamped the image.  I think it turned out fabulously--it looks watercolored!

Details~

I used some dollar stamps from my stash (sorry, don't know the company), a sentiment by Stampin' Up!, and a masculine color scheme.  I usually forget men's birthdays...oops!  Washi tape, bling and ribbon from my stash, a Sakura gel pen, and a leftover scrap of patterned paper were also harmed in the making of this card. ;D
