Paper Sweeties May Inspiration Challenge #30 - 'Celebrate Mom'

Hello, SWEETIES! :)  It's time for another fabulous Paper Sweeties challenge, and this month we're honoring mom!  Take a peek at the challenge inspiration that Debbie created...

Isn't that beautiful?  I LOVE it!  A shabby and pretty tea party, just for mom!  I was inspired by the polka dots, colors, and flowers.  Instead of a card, I created a pocket with tag inside.  Come and see...

The outside pocket was dolled up with a shaker made from the Tea For Two Sweet Cuts, Bubblegum sequins, Marshmallow sequins, some rhinestone flowers, and some Raspberry Baker's Twine.  The banner sentiment was created using the Hello Friend stamp set and Be Happy Sweet Cuts.

On, the inside of the pocket, there's a tag.  I used the same color scheme from the outside pocket to create the tag.  I added a little butterfly clip up top so it was more easily taken out of the pocket.

The sentiment is from the same Hello Friend stamp set I used on the front of the pocket.  This time, the sentiment was just stamped onto kraft card and then bordered with black card so it would be more visible off the background paper.

The bottom of the tag was gussied up with roses created by stamping images from the Party Time stamp set and die cutting them out with the Party Time Sweet Cuts.  I just love the way the Paper Sweeties products all coordinate!

I LOVE the way this project ended up!  I hope you do, too!  I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below. :)  Also, take some time to tell the other gals on this team how amazing their work is, too.  They've got fabulous inspiration for you, too!

Here's the hop list~

Guest DT @ Red Rubber Designs: "S"

Hello, friends! I'm here today as a guest for Red Rubber Inspirationals, and I've got a fun challenge for you!  My theme is, "S". The challenge: To use something, ANYTHING, that starts with the letter "S" on your creation! Just make sure that at least one item on your card, scrapbook page, ATC, altered project, starts with "S" and you can link it up below! I've made two lovely cards for this challenge using some amazing products from the Red Rubber Designs store, come and see my first one...

This is an A2 card and the base was created with white cardstock and some weathered wood patterned paper.  The image and sentiment are from the Light the Path stamp set.  As you can see, I added STITCHING, a SEASHELL, and a SEA theme to satisfy my challenge parameters.

I just love this gorgeous set!  The sketchy style of the stamps is beautiful and perfect for all kinds of craft projects.  I chose to use red, white, blue, and black to keep with my sea/nautical theme.  I love the way this card turned out!

My next card is a little bit more SIMPLE in style. ;)  I kept it one layer with minimal embellishments this time.  Come and take a peek...

I used another A2 card base for this SIMPLE card, this time using kraft cardstock.  I stamped the SAILBOAT image and SCRIPTURE sentiments from the Peace Be Still stamp set in varying shades of brown to keep it mostly monochrome.  I added some SEQUINS, liquid pearls, twine, and a SHINY button from my stash to finish off this SEA themed card.

I really super like this card!  This fabulous image can be used for so many purposes, and especially wonderful for masculine cards.  I have a hard time with masculine cards, so any help I can get is perfect!  What do you think of these cards?  I'd love to hear in the comments below! :)

That's all for me today, friends!  Thank you so much for stopping by!  I hope that you hop over to the Red Rubber Inspirational post and join in this current challenge!  I'll see you soon with more crafty goodness.  Until then, HUGS and happy stamping to you all! :)

Chalkboard Tulips

Hello, my friends!  I am super excited to share with you a fun card that I made "just because" today.  It uses a beautiful stamp set from Inspired By Stamping and lots of shabby details.  Come and take a peek...

I started by stamping and embossing the Tulip Bouquet image and heat embossing it with white embossing powder from Sweet Stamps onto Licorice cardstock from The Stamps of Life.  I then used Powdered Sugar ink from The Stamps of Life to stamp over the tulip image.  I used my finger to gently smudge the white ink after it had dried slightly to create the chalkboard feel.  *TIP*: Do this in circular motion to avoid fingerprints.

I created the sentiment the same way as the image.  I then punched the sentiment out with a Wide Oval Punch from Stampin' Up!.  Both of these pieces were then layered onto some kraft card from my stash.  I don't know the company, but I believe it's from The Paper Studio.

I added some fun embellishments to these panels.  The flower and pearl are from Michaels, the button is from Stampin' Up!.  I kept everything monochromatic to keep an elegant feel.

I then added some Making Memories ribbon to one side of the image panel, and a Stampin' Up! doily piece to the other.  I layered everything onto a card base made from the same kraft cardstock, along with patterned paper from Recollections and more Licorice cardstock.  The same Making Memories ribbon and a piece of kraft card that was embossed using a Stampin' Up! embossing folder also add some texture at the bottom of the card.  I really love the way this turned out!  What do you think?  I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

I'm entering this card into these fabulous challenges~

(I chose to use a quote stamp.)

That's all for me today, friends!  I'll be back with more crafty creations to share with you.  Thank you SO MUCH for stopping by today!  I'll see you soon!  Until then, HUGS and happy stamping! :)

Inspired By Stamping: Seed Pack Shaker Cards

Hi, all!  I'm back with a fun card that uses gorgeous products from the Inspired By Stamping online store.  We are featuring our favorite techniques this week, and I chose to make a shaker card...with some faux stitching! :)  Come and take a look...

The shaker portion was made using stamps from the Garden Seed Packets stamp set.  I colored the image using Spectrum Noir alcohol markers.  The window was cut using the Fancy Labels 3 dies.  I think shaker cards are super fun, and this seed packet was screaming to be made into one!

I used a variety of patterned papers and some fun cotton ribbon to finish this card up.  The faux stitching was created with a fine tip Sharpie pen.  I just love faux stitching--it looks real most of the time, but without having to get a machine out. ;)

The inside of my shaker is filled with some fun, bright, springtime fresh sequins that match the colors of my patterned papers.  I think it's really enjoyable to choose a fun shaker filling!  This one was pre-made, luckily, so all the guess work was taken out of it and I could work on pairing all the patterns together.

I really like the way this turned out!  The colors are fresh and fun, and I actually really like the way I colored the flower. :)  What do you think?  I'd love to hear in the comments below!

Great Impressions: More April Showers!

Hello again, friends!  I'm back with another card using stamps from the Great Impressions online store!  I decided to make one more rain themed card before May is upon us and the flowers replace the rain! ;)  Come and check it out...

The sentiment and images are actually just one stamp!  It's called F448 When It Rains and I just adore the font of the sentiment and the darling boots!  I colored the boots in with glittery Sakura gel pens to add more shine.

All I had to do with this panel after it was colored was to layer it onto a card base prepped with patterned paper and a doily.  Voila!  I love these polka dots!  What about you?  Love or not?  I'd like to hear in the comment below!

CutCardStock: Shaped Flower Card

Happy Wednesday, friends! :)  I'm back today with another creation using gorgeous paper from the CutCardStock online store!  Today I have a card with a 3D flower made out of different Curious Metallic paper.  Come and take a peek...

I used Curious Metallic paper in Red Lacquer, Botanic, and Super Gold to create my flower and leaves.  For a tutorial about how I made the flower, please head on over to the CutCardStock blog!

My flower is paired with a sentiment that was stamped onto Classic Crest Solar White card and then layered with more Red Lacquer Curious Metallic paper.

These were both added to a focal panel made of more Classic Crest Solar White card and Red Lacquer Curious Metallic paper.  The focal panel was then added to a card base made of more Classic Crest Solar White card.  I think this turned out so prettily!  What is your opinion?  I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

Thank you SO MUCH for stopping by today!  I will be back later with more crafty ideas for you all.  Until then, HUGS and happy crafting, friends! :)
