Chalkboard Tulips

Hello, my friends!  I am super excited to share with you a fun card that I made "just because" today.  It uses a beautiful stamp set from Inspired By Stamping and lots of shabby details.  Come and take a peek...

I started by stamping and embossing the Tulip Bouquet image and heat embossing it with white embossing powder from Sweet Stamps onto Licorice cardstock from The Stamps of Life.  I then used Powdered Sugar ink from The Stamps of Life to stamp over the tulip image.  I used my finger to gently smudge the white ink after it had dried slightly to create the chalkboard feel.  *TIP*: Do this in circular motion to avoid fingerprints.

I created the sentiment the same way as the image.  I then punched the sentiment out with a Wide Oval Punch from Stampin' Up!.  Both of these pieces were then layered onto some kraft card from my stash.  I don't know the company, but I believe it's from The Paper Studio.

I added some fun embellishments to these panels.  The flower and pearl are from Michaels, the button is from Stampin' Up!.  I kept everything monochromatic to keep an elegant feel.

I then added some Making Memories ribbon to one side of the image panel, and a Stampin' Up! doily piece to the other.  I layered everything onto a card base made from the same kraft cardstock, along with patterned paper from Recollections and more Licorice cardstock.  The same Making Memories ribbon and a piece of kraft card that was embossed using a Stampin' Up! embossing folder also add some texture at the bottom of the card.  I really love the way this turned out!  What do you think?  I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

I'm entering this card into these fabulous challenges~

(I chose to use a quote stamp.)

That's all for me today, friends!  I'll be back with more crafty creations to share with you.  Thank you SO MUCH for stopping by today!  I'll see you soon!  Until then, HUGS and happy stamping! :)

Paper Sweeties December Release Sneak Peeks!

Hello, friends!  Welcome to another round of NEW release items for Paper Sweeties!  I'm super excited to share this card today--it turned out better than I thought it would, so I hope you like it!  Come and take a peek...

As soon as I saw the new Deck the Halls stamp set, I had a vision of using it to create a faux chalkboard card with it!  I started by stamping and embossing the birdhouse in white.  I then stamped a little bit off of the embossing with white ink.  I colored in the "snow" with a chalkboard marker and then added some glitter.  I used the same chalkboard marker to color the festive hangings and then used colored glitter gel pens to add a bit of holiday color!

I then stamped a bunch of the snowflakes from the Deck the Halls stamp set and embossed them in white powder.  I stamped a shadow with white ink like I did with the birdhouse.  I then added some Marshmallow Sequins to add some more texture and fun shine!  I also sponged around the chalkboard panel with white ink to make it look like a frosted window.

After I finished the chalkboard panel, I added some twine and tied it all up with a fun button!  This provides an anchor for the birdhouse and adds a bit more whimsy to the whole card.

I then took the layered chalkboard panel and added it to a card base.  The card base was dressed up with some red and white polka dot paper and a doily up on the top.  Voila!  A sweet card!
