House of Cards: Photo Inspiration

Hello!  I hope you've had a wonderful weekend! :)  It's time for a NEW challenge at House of Cards--this time, we've got a ONE WEEK challenge where we'd like you to be inspired by...

This photo~
Pretty, country, chic. Love it.

Here's my take~

Details~

I've used patterned paper by Basic Grey, a button and twine from my stash, Stickles by Ranger in Diamond, Memento ink in Tuxedo Black, enamel dots by My Minds Eye, and all other supplies are by Stampin' Up!.

I decided against placing a sentiment so that this card could be used for any occasion.  I LOVE hydrangeas, and so this was a good chance for me to get out this image--it's rarely used, which is a shame!  It looks so lovely paper pieced like this, don't you think?  Hopefully you can see I was inspired by the flowers, colors, and patterns of the photo! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!  I hope you take some time to create something today--and if you're inspired by the photo, to link it up with us at House of Cards!  Please leave some love with the other amazing DT gals, too--they're creations are gorgeous!  HUGS and happy stamping to you all!

Great Impressions: Spring Flowers!

Hello, all!  I hope your week is going well!  It's time for my weekly DT post for the Great Impressions blog! :)  Today I've got a lovely springtime card that uses stamps from the Great Impressions store.  Come take a peek!  I think you'll love the blue jars I created! :)

Here's the card~

Detail~

Product used: G363 Spring Floral Jars.

To create the blue mason jars, I stamped the image onto my white cardstock and then colored in the images with Sakura glitter gel pens.  I then stamped the image a second time onto some vellum, colored the vellum blue with china ink (a Faber Castell marker), cut out the jars, and added them to the image!  Voila!  I LOVE the way this turned out! :)

Thank you so much for stopping by to take a peek!  Hop over to the blog for a video tutorial on how to achieve that watercolor look with your stamps! :)  Next week I'll be back with another creation for your viewing pleasure!  I hope you'll hop over to the Great Impressions blog to participate in our monthly challenge and if you use GI stamps, make sure to add it to our Customer Gallery, too!  HUGS and happy stamping to you all!

Inspired By Stamping: Sweet Pea Gift Set

Hi, friends!  It's time for another post from me for the Inspired By Stamping blog!  They use some brand new stamps from our latest release and I just KNOW you're gonna love them!  Hop over to the Inspired By Stamping store to grab them now!

I started my process by choosing a color scheme.  I LOVE the new Sweet Peas set and so I knew I'd use that, and after some research on what colors sweet peas can be, I found that my favorite color, purple, was an option!  So, of course that's what I went with!  I paired the purple and images with some beautiful turquoise and cream polka dot paper from the Spring Lilacs paper.  I then decided on kraft for my neutral base, and voila!  PERFECT!

I started first by creating the candy gift bag.  I took a piece of 4.25" by 11" piece of kraft paper and scored it at 1", 5", 6", and 7".  I then added a strip of paper from the Spring Lilacs paper pad, some ribbon, a bow, and some pearls.

Next, I moved to the bottom panel.  I stamped the smaller Sweet Pea image from the Sweet Peas set, colored it in, punched it out, layered it, glittered it and added it to a banner with a sentiment from the same Sweet Peas set.  This was put onto another panel with the same polka dot paper from the Spring Lilacs paper pad.  A smattering of pearls completed the bottom of this "bag".

Finally, I added some delicious candies packaged in a cellophane bag to the inside.  You could also put other smallish gifts into a holder like this as well.  Perhaps a few small seed packets would fit in this section as well!

I then decided I needed to make a matching card.  It's always fun to receive things that match, right?!  And the card was the way to show off the larger image from the Sweet Peas set as well as another one of the sentiments!

I stamped the large image from the Sweet Peas set onto some card stock, colored it in, layered it with some deep purple card, and added glitter.

This piece was added to the rest of the card that included the same patterned paper from the Spring Lilacs pad that had a sentiment from the Sweet Peas set stamped onto it.

That's it for me today, friends!  I hope you like my gift giving idea and that you grab the sets I've used from the store!  Don't forget that we've got a sale going on at the store right now--all floral stamp sets are 20% off and for every $50 you spend, you will receive a free set!  How cool is that?!  Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping to you all!

DDD: Happy Spring + Wednesday Wisdom

Hello again, dear friends!  Welcome to another weekly post for me for Diane's Daydream Designs!  This week, I've created a springtime card because it is about time for spring to spring! ;)  I've used images and digital paper from the Bitty Baby Girl Vintage set to create this one--I LOVE using my supplies for a myriad of different occasions, don't you?

Here's my card~

Details~
This card makes me think of all the gorgeous creations that God has made for us.  It reminds me of the hymn, "All Things Bright and Beautiful."  The chorus goes like this (please feel free to sing with me!),

"All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful,
The Lord God made them all."

I think of my sweet fur baby and all the tough times she's helped my through while struggling with infertility and I know that God has given us so many creations to bless our lives!  How can you not see God in everything around us?  He is truly the Creator and the most amazing giver of gifts!

Thanks for stopping by to look at my creation today!  I hope you take some time today to remember all the beautiful gifts that God has given you--no matter how "small" they may seem.  I also hope that you are able to feel God's love for you today and always--it never changes.  HUGS and happy stamping, friends!
