Inspired By Stamping: You Got This

Hi, all!  I'm back with another card using some beautiful stamps from the Inspired By Stamping online store!  We're sharing creations to fit our challenge this month.  You can choose one prompt, two prompts, as many as you'd like, then link up with us!  Take a peek at our inspirations...

I decided to use a bit of string, work with these gorgeous colors, and create a floral patterned background on my card.  Take a peek...

I heat embossed the flower image from the Flower of the Month: Aster stamp set and a butterfly image from the Butterflies stamp set onto some watercolor paper using clear embossing powder.  I then used inks to watercolor and create a fun background.

The sentiment is from the *NEW* Watercolor Sentiments stamp set and I chose to stamp it in black.  I decided to use black card for all my matting--I think it helps the watercoloring to POP a bit more.

Some rhinestones and string finished off this card.  I LOVE the way this turned out--I adore the fun way the background turned out, especially!  What do you think?  I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

That's all for me today!  I hope you come join in our fabulous challenge for your chance to win some fabulous goodies from the Inspired By Stamping online store!  Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping to you all! :)

Inspired By Stamping: Saturday Designer Spotlight!

Hi again, friends!  I'm super excited to be the designer spotlight over on the Inspired By Stamping blog today!  I've got a quick and easy tutorial on how to create this watercolor effect on your creations!  You may remember a similar card that I made with this same technique.  I thought it'd be fun to share the "how to"!  Let's start by taking a look at my completed card for today...

The first thing you'll need to do is gather a few supplies.  White cardstock, Versamark ink, white embossing powder, the Flower of the Month: Aster set, a watercolor pen or a paintbrush and water, and desired inks.  Start by embossing your flower image onto the white cardstock.  Trust me--you don't absolutely need watercolor paper to get the same effect.

After embossing the flower from the Aster set, take your inks and watercolor pen and just go at it.  I usually layer on a few colors and I always make sure to watercolor around the entire embossed portion of the image so that it looks more defined in a strange way.  Make sure to watercolor using lightest colors first and moving up in intensity.  For this image, I did the yellow centers first, then the lightest green, lightest purple, dark green, mid purple, and finally darkest purple tone.

After finishing your panel, you can dry it with a heat gun on the front and back to speed drying times.  The colors will get a little bit lighter as the panel dries, so keep that in mind when choosing hues.  After finishing this panel, I added some twine and tied on a sentiment from the same Aster set as the image.

I then added the panel to a card base that was prepped with a patterned paper panel.  A few deep blue pearls finished off my creation!  The color combos for this image from the Aster set is just limitless--I hope you try this out and link it up in our Customer Gallery!!!

That's all for me today!  I hope you take a chance to go and grab our newest release from the store and, if you spend $50, you will get a free stamp set!  Also, come and join in the fun of our current challenge, too!  If you use products from the Inspired By Stamping store, link them up in the Customer Gallery as well!  HUGS and happy stamping to you all!

Inspired By Stamping: Release Week + NEW Aster Set!

Hello again, friends!  I'm back again today with another card to share using the NEWEST stamps from the Inspired By Stamping store!  Today we are featuring the brand new Flower of the Month: Aster set!  I am TOTALLY in love with this set and I know you will be, too!  Look at the card I made to share!

Do you see why I LOVE this set?  It's so pretty!  I know Asters are usually blue, but I decided to do a watercolor resist technique on this lovely image with some autumnal colors.  The flower image from the Aster set is perfect for this technique!

After I got my image panel water colored, I decided to add a sentiment from the same Aster set.  It's die cut out perfectly with the Inspired By Stamping Fancy Label 3 dies!  A bit of twine and some black enamel dots finished off the main panel.

All I had to do after completing my main panel was to tape it all together and add it to a panel with patterned paper!  I really love the way this turned out and I hope you do, too!
