MHKDesigns: August Challenge


Hello, everyone!  I am back today with another card for our new challenge over at MHKDesigns!  We have a really pretty photo/color inspiration for you this month, and I can't wait to see what you create with it!  Take a look at the inspiration...


And here is my take on this challenge~

I used the image from the *NEW* Pansy Corner digital stamp set as my focal point.  I kept it black and white to keep this card totally simple.  


The sentiment is from the Birds & Branches set and was printed onto vellum and added as a stapled banner over the image.  I love the way vellum adds another level of elegance to a creation!


I used papers from the Egg-cellent Easter, Easter Flowers, and Twinkle Twinkle Little Dots paper packs.  A punched border, some rhinestones, and a lot of gray matting completed this card.  I really do love the way it turned out, and I hope you do, too!  Please do leave me a comment below to let me know your thoughts! :)

MHKDesigns: Pansy Corner


Hello, friends!  It is time for another release for the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop, and I have some super fun sets and papers coming your way!  There are a few "anytime" sets, and we're also looking ahead to a few fall holidays this month!  I hope you grab them for your stash!  Today we are featuring the *NEW*...


Take a peek at my creation...

I just love this beautiful floral bouquet image from the Pansy Corner set!  I decided to make it the focal image and I colored it in with Spectrum Noir markers, then added some glitter to the blooms to mimic dew.  The sentiment was printed on the same panel, and some liquid pearls were added as an anchor/border to the bottom of this focal panel.


I was excited about how the colors that I chose came together to create a beautiful end of summer bouquet!  What do you think of my creation?  I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!

MHKDesigns: Halloween Party


Hello, friends!  It is time for another release for the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop, and I have some super fun sets and papers coming your way!  There are a few "anytime" sets, and we're also looking ahead to a few fall holidays this month!  I hope you grab them for your stash!  Today we are featuring the *NEW*...


Take a peek at my creation...

I colored the darling retro image from the Halloween Party set with colored pencils and added some flower sequins with liquid pearl centers for a bit more shine and texture.  I added a bright green bow with a yellow button center to the side and a sentiment, from the same set, printed onto vellum as well.


The papers I used for this card come from the Simply Seasonal and Twinkle Twinkle Little Dots paper packs.  I matted everything with black cardstock to keep with the Halloween feel.  I think turned out pretty cute, and I hope you agree!  I would love to hear what you think in the comments below!

MHKDesigns: Thankful Thoughts


Hello, friends!  It is time for another release for the MHKDesigns Etsy Shop, and I have some super fun sets and papers coming your way!  There are a few "anytime" sets, and we're also looking ahead to a few fall holidays this month!  I hope you grab them for your stash!  Today we are featuring the *NEW*...


Take a peek at my creation...

I decided to use the cornucopia image from the Thankful Thoughts set as my focal image on this card.  I colored the image using Spectrum Noir markers, fussy cut it out, and layered it on top of a couple of stitched circle die cut pieces.  The sentiment, from the same set, was printed onto vellum before adding it to the card.


I paired this set with paper from the Glorious Garden paper pack and some kraft card that I dry embossed and sponged with brown ink. Some basic twine, a purple button, and a few purple rhinestones finished off the card.  I like the brightness I achieved with this creation, and I hope you like it, too!  Please do let me know your thoughts in the comments below! :)
