TRCC #8: Passion for Purple

Now, we really just want to see creations with an plethora of purple. You don't have to necessarily go with the "passion" theme or use the photos as your guide. I decided to continue my "stash rummage" for this creation. This time around, I found two Hero Arts stamp sets that haven't been used in a long while, some Simon Says Stamps ink that still wasn't open, and some patterned paper from Stampin' Up! from a long forgotten pack. A few enamel hearts and purple rhinestones accent the fun CAS design I kept to the left side of the card!

Purple is my FAVORITE! *sigh* This card was super fun to make, and I think this it turned out beautifully! I hope you like it, too! I would LOVE for you to let me know your thoughts in the comments below!

TRCC #7: Blue Breezes

Hello, friends, and happy July! I hope you're looking forward to a new month--I know I am! Thank you so much to everyone who played along last month at The Rainbow Card Challenge for our first rainbow prompt! All the creations were AMAZING! And now, here is this month's prompt...

Now, we really just want to see creations with an abundance of blue. You don't have to necessarily go with the "breezy" theme or use the photos as your guide. This card was made for newest nephew--Levi! He arrived in May, and I decided he needed to know "owl" about how much he was loved! ;) I used patterned paper from My Mind's Eye, an owl stamp set from my stash (I don't know the name, sorry!), cardstock from The Stamps of Life, punches and ink from Stampin' Up!, and liquid pearls from Ranger to complete this card. The owl is indeed paper pieced!

TCRR #6: Neon Rainbow!!!

Hello, friends, and happy JUNE! I hope you're looking forward to a new month--I know I am! Thank you so much to everyone who played along last month at The Rainbow Card Challenge! We've been up and running for six months, so we are celebrating with a RAINBOW MONTH! Without further ado, here is this month's prompt...

Now, we usually go for monochrome, but this month we want to see NEON RAINBOW! Show us your best neon products--we are ready for them this summer! For all the details about the "rules" (there are very few), you can see the challenge post! This post is about the TWO cards I made, so take a peek...

I decided to use a technique I "discovered" a while ago. I'm sure it's been out there for a really long time, and I'm not sure what it's called, but I'm calling it "Shadow Sentiment Double Take". 

I used washi tape from Doodlebug Design to create a rainbow panel, then used a sentiment die from The Stamps of Life to create the sentiment portions. The first card has some glitter paper clouds and black enamel dots added, then was framed with black cardstock. The CAS version has a stamped sentiment from Paper Smooches and a few rhinestones.

TRCC #5: Gorgeous Green

Hello, friends, and happy May! I hope you're looking forward to a new month--I know I am! Thank you so much to everyone who played along last month at The Rainbow Card Challenge, and here is this month's prompt...

Now, we really just want to see creations with an abundance of green. You don't have to necessarily go with the "gorgeous" theme or use the photos as your guide. Mostly monochrome, if you understand my meaning. For all the details about the "rules" (there are very few), you can see the challenge post! This post is about the card I made, so take a peek...

I wanted to keep this CAS  because I have it earmarked to mail to someone. ;) I simply tore some paper from a My Mind's Eye paper pad, added a Hero Arts sentiment that was punched and layered, then added a few hearts and rhinestones. Liquid pearls were added for a bit more texture and shine around the sentiment. All punches used are from Stampin' Up!.

I used Adobe Photoshop to get the variety of elements the correct colors and in the proper places, but you could probably make something very similar in a word processing program! I decided to continue my "stash rummage" for this creation. I found a Martha Stewart floral stamp set that hadn't seen the light of day for many a moon, some pink inks from Stampin' Up! that needed to be used so they knew they were loved, and a sentiment stamp from a rarely used (tragic!) Paper Smooches set. I am loving finding old treasures! I kept the accents of this feminine creation soft and pearly to keep with the polished feel, with just a bit of sparkle on the sentiment thanks to a glitter gel pen from Sakura.

I pulled out a Fiskars stamp set that I bought years ago to create this fresh and fruity card! I added some patterned paper from The Stamps of Life, ribbon from Stampin' Up!, and layered the focal image with various pieces, including a doily from Doodlebug. I LOVE all the fun and sunny yellows with fresh white polka dots!

You KNOW how I love me a good pun! This is why I kept this set--the amazing puns! My hubby said he really liked this card, so I actually used it as his Valentine last month. ;)
