Inspiration Board

Well, I've stumbled upon another challenge...because I have fabulous blog friends who share information like that with me (THANK YOU, Katy of I like to cut and paste!)!!! :) This blog is called LESSology. The theory behind it is to upcycle items and make them into something else. Altering garbage. ;) You know! SOOOOO fun, SOOOOO time consuming, SOOOOO rewarding!!! So, I'll try to participate every once in a while!

The challenge they have for us right now is Inspiration Board. They want you to upcycle something and make it into something that helps you be inspired and be organized. WOW. So, I went shopping. In my junk room!!!

Here's what I found~

And here's what I made it into~

Details~

Okay, so I'm seriously wondering what you all think? It took me about 2 hours to make, and I am really happy and proud about it! I started by painting the tray with a shimmery champagne craft paint, then added the background papers (scraps from other projects), and added all the elements!

The little memo pad is gonna be used to write who I feel INSPIRED to send a card/project to that week, and the scriptures and words are there to remind me of what's important. :) Oh, and yes, I did make those flowers by hand. I've loved to make them, but haven't in a while, so today was the day to start again!!! :) The little Valentines are from a swap years ago from sweet and dear friends--reminders to give and share our talents with others!

Thank you SOOOOO much for stopping by to take a peek at my little project! I hope YOU'RE INSPIRED to come and play along at LESSology! Happy crafting!!!

Let the summer creating begin!

I kicked off my summer today by creating some beautiful things with a beautiful friend. :) I'll be showing them to you in the next few days. I wanted to start with this awesome cannister. I bought it at a garage sale for 25¢ and it needed help. It had some magazine cutouts on it...not so cute. Anyway, I decided to use some of my vast supply of paper and came up with this! I adhered it with Elmer's white glue (aka faux mod podge) and it took a total of thirty minutes to make. Each side is different. I think it turned out fabulously! I hope this summer inspires you to create something new! Happy crafting!

Crafting is Magnetic

Ma
So, I wanted to create a simple and beautiful fall project that could be useful to give to a few friends. SOLUTION?! Make a magnet! These little cuties are totally easy to make! I bought the glass squares at a local beading store, but I'm sure you could find them elsewhere. They measure 1 7/8" x 1 7/8". I cut the paper into 1 3/4" square. I then foam brushed white glue onto the back and adhered the paper with the side I wanted showing placed face down. After that, I turned the square over, placed a sticker on the front and foam brushed on a VERY thin layer of white glue over it. The last step is placing a magnet on the back. How easy is that?! You COULD use Modpodge if you wanted, but I've found that white glue works just as well and is cheaper. I hope you get the chance to make some magnets soon! Happy crafting to you!
