My First Make It Monday!!!

Well, I decided to take a leap of faith. I have admired all the MIM techniques and have wanted to play along, but all I have are two packages of Papertrey Ink patterned papers. Sooo...I'm using them on these cards so that I can play along! Hopefully that's okay for this week? I will be placing a large PPI order as soon as I can get my DH to acquiesce. Might just have to be my Valentine's present...in advance! They have the most AMAZING Jane Austen stamp set....TOTALLY in my cart right now...along with some other fabulous products. ;)

Okay, so back to the point. This week, the talented Betsy is teaching us how to do Ghost Masking....soooo fun. Soooo hard for me...and so I decided to keep the layout the same in order to not complicate this more than I did. Yep. I DO tend to make things more difficult than they have to!

Here's the first card I made~

Details~

Now, I don't have a border for my Nestabillities, and so I had to free hand it. It's too clunky too me. AND, I forgot to stamp off the first leaf branch that I restamped...did you even notice? I DO. ALSO, the sentiment looks cool, but doesn't really fit with the theme of the card. What was I thinking?! BTW, I had to use some specialty pearly paper because I went down to craft only to find out that I'm OUT OF WHITE CARDSTOCK. What?! But it looks cool...okay, so after this semi-disaster, I decided to have another go. SOOOOOO LOVE the second one!

My second card~

Ah. Much better! I think it is so pretty!!! The frame is once again free handed--but less chunkily. And I got to use my new set from Pink Paislee's Nantucket line. LOVE it! :) I'm also submitting this second card into the JUGS collage challenge, the Gingersnaps challenge to use a line or set (NEW Pink Paislees! :) ) and the Prairie Fairy Friday California Dreaming challenge (whenever I think about CA, I think of the sea!).

So, I do hope you'll come and play along with us at MIM, JUGS, Gingersnaps, and PFF! We always have a fun time, and the DT creations are AMAZING! :) Happy stamping!

Vintage Valentine

Okay, one more quick post and then I HAVE to go to bed...this card is for the DYSU challenge--PINK!!! I'd also like to submit it to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge--Valentine. I just got a new Hero Arts set today and am currently exploring more shabby chic/vintage cards. So, you'll have to tell me how I really do stack up!

Card~

Details~

I've used three colors of pink, some beautiful vintage rose paper, heat embossing on all stamped images, some fun ribbon and head pins, and two types of pink bling! Pinkalicious!!! :) So, do I stack up this time?! I hope so! I also you'll join the fun!!! Happy stamping! :)

One Layer Vintage Birdies

Welcome! I've gotta keep this quick--running out of time!!! I've got three vintage birdie Valentines to share with you! I'm submitting them into this week's One Layer Wednesday challenge--white base, only red and pink ink--, this week's CAS-ual Friday challenge--highs and lows/use scallops-- (all have scallops, but the bird cage on card three has a scalloped bottom as well), and into this week's Less is More challenge--one layer birds.

Card one & detail~

Card two & detail~

Card three & detail~

I used my scallop border punch to punch off the bottoms of the cards, then heat embossed my images and sentiments with clear embossing powder. How cute are these?! Thanks for taking a peek--come play with us, won't you? Happy stamping!

Inspiration Board

Well, I've stumbled upon another challenge...because I have fabulous blog friends who share information like that with me (THANK YOU, Katy of I like to cut and paste!)!!! :) This blog is called LESSology. The theory behind it is to upcycle items and make them into something else. Altering garbage. ;) You know! SOOOOO fun, SOOOOO time consuming, SOOOOO rewarding!!! So, I'll try to participate every once in a while!

The challenge they have for us right now is Inspiration Board. They want you to upcycle something and make it into something that helps you be inspired and be organized. WOW. So, I went shopping. In my junk room!!!

Here's what I found~

And here's what I made it into~

Details~

Okay, so I'm seriously wondering what you all think? It took me about 2 hours to make, and I am really happy and proud about it! I started by painting the tray with a shimmery champagne craft paint, then added the background papers (scraps from other projects), and added all the elements!

The little memo pad is gonna be used to write who I feel INSPIRED to send a card/project to that week, and the scriptures and words are there to remind me of what's important. :) Oh, and yes, I did make those flowers by hand. I've loved to make them, but haven't in a while, so today was the day to start again!!! :) The little Valentines are from a swap years ago from sweet and dear friends--reminders to give and share our talents with others!

Thank you SOOOOO much for stopping by to take a peek at my little project! I hope YOU'RE INSPIRED to come and play along at LESSology! Happy crafting!!!

NEW! :)

Well. I have something unusual here for you tonight. A lot of you know that my DH and I have been trying to have a baby for about 7 years now to no avail, and so I tend to avoid baby showers. So, this card was a little hard for me to make. That's right! It's a baby shower card! And, no. I'm not going to have a baby. :) And, no. I'm not going to a shower--just sending this in the mail.

Here's the card~

Details~

I'm gonna keep it short and sweet as I am swamped right now with other things I need to do! I created the background panel with both heat and dry embossing then adding the elements on top and finished with glitter bling! :)

Hope you come and join along with the following challenges I'm entering this card into~

Papertake Weekly: Anything goes with the option of NEW theme (new to me card type + new in the sentiment)

Wee Memories: NEW (ditto from above)
Creatalicious: Purple, green, pink & white (FABULOUS for this card--love it!)

L-O-V-E

Love, love, love. Love, love, love. All you need is love! :) Yep, it's the time of the year when we all Linkstart thinking of l'amour, you know, good old fashioned LURVE. :) Luckily, the current challenge over at Less is More is to use one word on your CAS style card. I'm happy with the way my card turned out!!! Can you guess what word I chose? ;D

Here it is~

A closer look~

I L-O-V-E the way it turned out. ;) And I've missed doing some good old fashioned CAS cards lately. And I LOVE the white on white. Incidentally, I will be entering this into the Top Tip Tuesday challenge (anything goes) as well and I have a tip in regards to white on white!

TIP: If you want to have a lot of dimension when choosing a white on white theme, try dry embossing one or more of the white panels and leaving your main one flat. This gives more dimension to your fabulous white space! :)

I'm also entering this little gem into the DYSU color challenge and The Pink Elephant anything goes challenge, as well. I haven't been entering many challenges and have missed you all! I hope you come and play along with these fabulous challenges! Happy stamping!!! :)

Woof, Woof!

Did you notice the title of this post? That's my puppy joining me in saying, "Happy Holidays!" to all my blog friends! :)

AND, before I forget, THANK YOU to everyone who helped me meet my goal of 100 followers! I will be posting how to win some blog candy during the first week of January--stay tuned and follow (if you don't already) for a chance to win!

So, I LOVE my dog--I've shown you pictures, but here's another one to remind you how ADORABLE she is!

I know, adorable! The BEST dog ever--she's so obedient and calm (most of the time) and just perfect for our family! So, what does she have to do with this post? Well, she *made* a card to wish everyone a happy holiday! Okay, she didn't make it, I did, but she inspired it! She wanted to share some words of wisdom... ;)

I'll be submitting this card into this week's JUGS color challenge, Paper Playtime's challenge~ Say it with Sentiments (this sentiment is definitely a statement!), as well as the Moving Along With the Times challenge~ Cats & Dogs. :)

I also want to enter this into Top Tip Tuesday's challenge~Anything Christmas! AND, here's my TIP!!! When taking photos of your projects, use a designer paper stack as your background--it makes a HUGE difference! Just find a pattern as your backdrop, turn the paper into a 90* angle, and take a picture. Doesn't this look nice?!

Here's the card~

And the details~

Isn't it cute?! Happy Holidays, from all of us, including HUNDIE (hoon-dee)! :)

Keeping it quick--I also may be AWOL for a bit--lot's to do over this holiday, but I'll try to post at least a few times a week! Merry stamping! :)

Okay, now that THAT'S over (and hopefully is the LAST time!), I want to welcome you to another round of "What's Mynnette thinking?" Tonight I'm thinking that it would really be lovely if the snow that is on it's way would create a "snow day" for school in the morning...then I could start my break early! I don't think it'll happen...stay tuned to see if it did or didn't! ;D Yep, blizzard conditions possible here in KS! I'm kind of excited, but not, because I have family coming in on Wednesday...or ARE they?! Stay tuned for more info on THAT juicy tidbit...
