Summer and winter meet up...

***PLEASE ENTER MY BLOG CANDY GIVE-AWAY!***

Hi, friends!  I've made 2 cards today that I'd like to share, and they are seasonally opposites!  One is a summery friendship card and the other is a festive winter card!  I really like the way both came out, but I don't have a lot of time to blog today as I've got some admin responsibilities to attend to, and I want to comment on your creations!!!  Let's get started, shall we?

Here's my summer card~

For these fabulous challenges~

Nothing says summer to a Kansan like sunflowers!  I've never entered a Basic Grey challenge before and so I wanted to enter this time.  I've used my favorite BG patterned paper, some BG clear stamps, and a BG fabric flower on this card.  The sentiment is by Technique Tuesday and all other supplies are from Stampin' Up!  The sunflowers and earthly tones remind me of summer and the sentiment is special--I'm sending it to a friend that I don't get to see much anymore due to her working full-time now...it's sad, really.  She's my BFF and I want her to know I love her!!!  Let's keep going...

This card is kind of a mistake...I had every intention of following the sketch to the letter and not rotate it, etc., but then after I had glued down all the background pieces, I realized the card front had been facing the wrong way! LOL!!!  So, the sketch is rotated...I think this turned out well!  I used a free digi stamp from Broken Box Stock, lots of Stampin' Up! papers (IN PURE POPPY AND REAL RED), markers, punches, and glitter, and a sentiment made by yours truly!  You know what that means--it's free to you for a limited time! :)

Here's your freebie from ME
(will be deleted in the next few days)~

Thanks for stopping by!  Before I go, I want to invite ALL OF YOU to come and join in my Technique Tuesday Challenge: Cascading Cards!!!

I am trying my hardest to get more participation, but it isn't happening...it makes me sad!  Please stop by and play along!  There are free digi prizes from me for the 6 winners!!!  Thanks for considering it, and happy stamping! :)

They call me mellow yellow....

...not really today.  I've been in a very much LESS THAN sunshiny happy mood today.  Very tired, very grumpy, and very ready for the school year to be over.  And I lost my temper at work with a coworker.  Which literally takes a lot of effort, because I try really hard to brush stuff off and go with the flow as much as possible.  So now I feel like a failure after coming home feeling justified and then taking a nap.  I just want to quit--dealing with the same issues every single day seems pointless to me.  Not sure WHY I'm telling you this, but I needed to get it out!

Okay, let's go onto the actual reason of the post.  One of my absolute favorite colors--YELLOW!!!  I do NOT use this color as much as I should, especially since it really is one of my favorites.  Second only to purple!  So imagine my great delight when I saw that the challenge over at Less Is More was to make a CAS card using yellow!!!  I decided to keep it really simple, and so a one layer card...with some bling and glitter. ;)

Here's my card~

I was so happy to get to use yellow that I made another card using yellow, too!  This one is for the Do You Stack Up Circles challenge and the Moving Along With The Times Summer Sunshine challenge!  The song "You Are My Sunshine" inspired this card--the sentiment reminds me of the lyrics, "You make me happy when skies are gray." :)  I also used a little used embellishment--buttons!!!  I have quite a few, and NEVER use them.  So, new goal!

Here's the cool inspiration from DYSU~

I'm so glad you came to visit tonight/today/whenever you're here!  I hope you like what you see and that you come play along with the fabulous challenges!  And thank you for not judging me.  I just needed to vent a bit there at the beginning!  Happy stamping, friends! :)

Wisteria With Love

Stampin' Up! has a new In Color this year called Wisteria Wonder. IT'S GORGEOUS. And it's my new favorite purple. So when I say the colors over at CR84FN this time, I was ecstatic!!!

Here's the fabulous inspiration from CR84FN~

This is the color scheme I want to paint my nursery if I ever have a little girl. I don't particularly care for pink, and so purple is my go to girl color. :) So, I was totally in heaven while making this card! I decided to be inspired by the flowers in the middle panel as well as the gorgeous colors.

Here's my card~

I'm also linking this up to the Do You Stack Up? Layers challenge--lots of layers on this one! 10 to be exact! ;)

I think it's really pretty, and I know who I'll be sending it to--it's just her style! Sorry the pictures aren't that good--the colors look much for soft and pretty IRL...oh, well!

Won't you come join in the fun at these fabulous challenges?! It's so much fun and I adore all the DT creations and seeing what everyone else got from the challenge--I know you will too! Happy stamping!!! :)

U Rock {my world}

I am just LOVING the globe image I got in my new Pink Paislee set. I've used it on these two cards here and here and have a new card to show you using the same image!!! :) It's SO versatile--especially since I've got quite a few sentiments it works with!

Here's the card~

I LOVE this card!!! It literally rocked my world. I was so incredibly happy with how it turned out. I'm seriously thinking of hoarding it... ;) I really hope I don't sound full of myself--I'm just incredibly happy when an idea translates to paper better than I imagined!!! :) And it's not because of me, I know that God has given me this talent and I am so grateful for it!

I'll be entering this card into two fabulous challenges: Try It On Tuesday's Card for a True Love challenge (I was too late! :( )and the Do You Stack Up? Love challenge. I hope you'll come join in the fun with us! Happy stamping!!!

Inside~

I had a very hard time this week, as I didn't know what direction I wanted to go. A trip to my local craft store helped a TON--I found these fabulous clear stickers, and one of them had this amazing quote--and it just fell into place! Did you notice something different about this card compared to others that I've made? You didn't? WELL, there is ABSOLUTELY NO stamping on it! So different from my usual style, but very fun!

I'm linking this up to the Top Tip Tuesday Valentine Challenge. My TIP for this card is that if you'd like to use clear stickers on a project (such as my sentiment sticker), back them with patterned paper! :) It always gives more interest to your image and helps you coordinate with the rest of your project.

I'd also like to link this card up to this week's DYSU ANYTHING GOES challenge!!!

Won't you come and join in the fun with us at MMM, TTT, and DYSU? And while you're at it, please take the time to visit the other DT members at MMM--they are all amazingly talented! Happy stamping!

Vintage Valentine

Okay, one more quick post and then I HAVE to go to bed...this card is for the DYSU challenge--PINK!!! I'd also like to submit it to the Really Reasonable Ribbon Challenge--Valentine. I just got a new Hero Arts set today and am currently exploring more shabby chic/vintage cards. So, you'll have to tell me how I really do stack up!

I've used three colors of pink, some beautiful vintage rose paper, heat embossing on all stamped images, some fun ribbon and head pins, and two types of pink bling! Pinkalicious!!! :) So, do I stack up this time?! I hope so! I also you'll join the fun!!! Happy stamping! :)
