Another white on white card...

Hi!  I've got another quick card to show you tonight!  Yes.  There is white on white.  If you're sick of it, I wouldn't read this blog anymore! ;)  I ADORE it!!!  Anyway, I've made a special card for a friend who recently got baptized into our congregation at church.  Such an important decision, and she had a rough time with family members.  I wanted to use a verse to help her remember that God will help you through any trial, so I got out a rarely used stamp with Romans 8:31 as the sentiment.

Here it is~

Details~

Another twist on a stamped punch window, too!  If you'd like to learn how to do this and have a chance at winning a challenge, pop on over to Technique Tuesday! ;)

I'd like to enter this into these fabulous challenges~

Thanks for stopping in--I hope you like what I've made and that you take the time to play along with these two challenges as well as Technique Tuesday!  Happy stamping!!! :)

Orange Flamingo

Hello!  So, what do you think about this post's title?  It really does apply, because I have another card to show you today using orange flamingo colors!  Can you believe that I am posting three days in a row?! ;)  This card is all bright and bold and summer time fresh!  And yet, I'm not sure if it quite goes together...I think I'm being way too hard on myself lately.  Okay, this is a very lovely card! ;D

Here it is~

Details~

The image is a Prima single that I recently purchased.  If you'd like to get one for yourself, they sell them over at The Craft Barn! :)  For more information about this card, email me and I'd be happy to tell you more!

Has anyone else seen the YouTube video about the 10 year old autistic boy who went to school with a wire and what the parents found out?!  I work with children with special needs, some of whom are autistic, and this disgusted me.  No, they can't talk.  YES, they can hear!  YES, they're real people who hear every insult you say to them!  This really angered me and also made me think about how I interact with my kiddos at school.  I cannot imagine ever speaking this way to them, or talking about completely inappropriate adult topics in front of them.  If you haven't seen it and would like to, you can find the video here.  I'm livid about it...

Anyway, I'd like to enter this card into the following challenges~

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you all have a fabulous rest of you week, and happy stamping!!!

I'm back! Sort of...

Hello!  I'm kinda back.  I've got lots of stuff to get done for May, but I'm taking a personal day at the beginning of the month to help with that, so I'm hoping to do more card making soon! :)  I have a quick card for you tonight that I'm not quite sure about...we'll see what YOU think...

Here's the card~

Details~

This was really easy to make, but I think that it's striking, but I'm not sure if it's exactly attractive.  I LOVE the red hearts on top of the silver, and of COURSE I adore white on white--when one panel is dry embossed, but do they go well together?  A little heart charm tied on with some red and white baker's twine was used to finish it off.  I'm planning on sending it out as a wedding card. :)

I'd like to enter this into these two fabulous challenges~

Make My Monday: Masculine Animals/Birds

Well, after last week's debacle, I decided to finish off my Make My Monday posts earlier!  So, this one is being scheduled, as is the one for next week. ;)

We have another fabulous challenge for you this week at Make My Monday.  We'd like to see some more masculine cards with the theme of ANIMALS/BIRDS.  Please make sure they are masculine!

Don't forget our terrific sponsor this month

Join us each week this month for a chance to win this fabulous prize! :)
And now, my card~
Details~

This one really stumped me for a bit.  I don't have any animal stamps that are "natural" enough to be considered masculine...at least in my opinion.  BUT, I forgot about this little frog set I had!  Isn't this perfect for a little boy?!  Or a very silly younger brother...even if he IS turning 23 today!  Yep, this card is also my Spread the "L-O-V-E" card and it was sent to my younger brother for his birthday which really is TODAY!!! :)  Happy birthday, Timmy! :)

Back to the challenge--I hope you join in the fun!  Be sure to check out my fellow DT's cards--they never fail to amaze!  Happy stamping!!! :)

52 CCT Theme Challenge #4

So, how do you feel about snowflakes? LOVE 'em? HATE 'em? I LOVE them! So I was really excited when Jacqueline chose them as our theme for this week's challenge at 52 {Christmas} Card Throwdown! :)

Here's the inspiration for this week~

And here's my first card with details~

This one was fun! I got to use some patterned paper I forgot I had and some rub-ons I also forgot I had! ;) LOVE finding forgotten stuff!!!

Here's my second card with details~

This one is CAS--and I added some shimmer with glitter glue in the centers of the snowflakes and around the sentiment.

That's all folks, but take a peek at my partner in crime's cards--Jacqueline is ALWAYS coming up with something fabulous! Merry stamping!!! :)

First EVER Technique Tuesday Link Party!

Hello, all! I've decided to add more onto my plate. I LOVE finding new techniques--and I've had a ton of people ask me how to make some of the creations I've made on my blog. SO, once a month, the first Tuesday, I will be posting a tutorial on a technique and add a linky so that you can link up YOUR creations! At the end of the month, I'll chose some of them to showcase! :)

Oh, and here's my badge to add to your sidebar should you choose!!!  If you'd link it back to Technique Tuesday blog address instead of this post, that would rock--click on the tab above to go to the new site! :)

The first technique I've chosen to show off is something I call "Stamped Punch Window". It's super easy and SO stunning each time you do it! It works for CAS style and can also be added on. So, let's get started! :)

Stamped Punch Window

Materials Needed:

Desired punch or die cut shape
Dimensionals
Embossing folder (optional)
Cardstock (one card base measuring 11"x4.25" folded in half and one piece 5.25"x4")
Ink
Stamps

"How To"

1. Take your 5.25"x4" piece of cardstock and punch your shape out. KEEP IT--you'll need it for later.

2. Stamp around the punched out frame. When using multiple colors, start with the lightest color and work up to the darkest.

3. Dry emboss your panel.

4. Add dimensionals to the back of your panel. Make sure to use enough to hold up the panel really well. (See how I messed up my stamping first go round? Tee hee!)

5. Adhere panel to your card base.

6. Take your punched out piece and stamp your sentiment and/or images onto it.

7. Color in your lined images.

8. Adhere to card FLAT in the punched out recess created by your embossed panel. Embellish or not--depends on your style!

9.TA DA! Give it to someone special! :)
Now it's YOUR turn! Make your opening as big or as small as you'd like. Embellish as much or as little as suits you. Link up below with a DIRECT link and I will come visit you!!!
PLEASE link back to me so that others can play along. If you'd like to, I'd LOVE it if you'd place my button on your blog sidebar and link it back to me as well! :) Can't wait to see what you all create! Happy stamping! :)

A few words...

Hello, all!  Just wanted to let you all know that I may not be posting some cards for a bit--possibly for the rest of the week.  I have my DT duties to fulfill, making my May cards, and helping with things here after the tornado.  I'll miss you all, but please don't be offended if I don't comment on your blog when I usually do!  I'm just super busy with life right now!

Also, I hope you'll take the time to check out my new monthly challenge--Technique Tuesday!  I really want this to be a huge success, but I need all of YOU to help me out with it!  So if you would like to, please pop on over and participate in this month's Technique challenge!

Thanks, all, and happy stamping!
