TAGS--I don't usually make them, but this year...

Well, hello there! :) Glad you could make it to my corner of blogland this fine evening! Hope you're not freezing like I am! It's not even that cold...I just am! BUT that means that the holiday season is upon us here in Kansas and so I am not that sad about it. :)

So, what does that have to do with anything? Nothing much, I just wanted to say it to someone! Or write it to someone...same thing!

Okay, now that I've had my little ADD moment, back to the real point of this post--TAGS!!!

I don't usually make tags for Christmas, birthday, Valentine's day, etc. presents, but this year I've found quite a few challenges to make tags and so I'm doing it! I've made 5...that's 5 more than last year! And the latest 3 are what this post is about! I'm gonna enter them into these challenges: Wee Memories and The Pink Elephant.

What are your thoughts? I like them...but I'm not entirely thrilled with them. I do like the third one the best. The circle thought was to try to make them look kinda like ornaments. I don't know that I achieved that. But, they're pretty! And they have glitter and dry embossing--two of my faves! :) So, I'll be happy with them. :)

Non-Traditional Candy Canes

Well, folks, I've been disappointing myself a bit lately! I am totally into non-traditional holiday card colors, but looking over my past holiday posts this year, they've been very traditional! So, let's shake it up a bit, shall we? But first, let's take a look at all the contributing factors to my card for this evening...

Isn't it fun?! I was inspired by the stripes on the cake in the CR84FN inspirations pics and the overall feminine feel of them. And my non-traditional candy cane paper worked out nicely--striped and girly!!! :) Wanna take a closer look? Well, you get to, anyway, because I LOVE to share close-ups! ;D

Look what I found the other day~

Isn't that GORGEOUS?! Well, when I popped on over to Cupcake Inspirations to see their inspiration for this week, I was very excited to still see some autumn inspiration going on! It seems that everyone overlooks November and starts Christmas asap after Halloween. But I LOVE November! :) So, I'm joining in the fun!!!

What do you think? I was inspired mainly by the swirly frosting and by the autumn colors. I used my vintage glitter again--it's become very versatile (sometimes it looks gold, but on this it took on a brown look) and I'll be quite sad when it runs out!!! Luckily, I have blue, too. :) I used a sentiment that could be versatile so that I can send it to someone who I feel would need it...

Joyful Season!

Well, I've found a new challenge! :) It's called Crafty Cardmakers and I think it may become a bi-weekly tradition! Can I just say, I love having some weekly and some bi-weekly challenges in my repertoire? It makes things less stressful and more fun! :)

So, this time's challenge is a color challenge: brown, pink, and cream. Fun color scheme, right? I have to admit, a lot of ideas came into my mind. But, I have a friend who L-O-V-Es pink. And I needed to make her a Christmas card.

What do you think? I think it's really quite pretty-and I know that my friend will be so happy to receive it! :) I added a little bit of sparkle to the sentiment and the flourishes above and below it with a clear glitter gel pen (my best friend...) but you can't see it very well...

Party Hearty Hat :)

So, over at JUGS this week, there is a FANTASTIC challenge! Take a look at this sketch~
Isn't that FUN?! Well, as soon as I saw it, it screamed birthday hat to me! So...I made a birthday card!!!

What do you think? Isn't it just too fun?! I really had a blast making this! I used some black rub-ons from Stampin' Up! (too lazy to go look at the name) for accents--I liked the bold images in black with all the color! :)

Now I have to decide who'll be the lucky recipient...probably my sister who a birthday this month. :)

Guy Fawkes Inspired Card

Well...I'm a few days late. ;D Guy Fawkes Day was Saturday, and this week at LIM, the challenge is to use red and orange--bonfire colors!!!

Here's what I came up with~

What do you think? When I first stamped the black onto the orange panel, I was afraid that the card would turn out too Halloweeny instead of autumnal. But I think it works with the berries!

Speaking of the berries--that's where the red it! I used blender pens to color in these lined images.

Yep, that's glitter--to add a bit of frost to the image! I don't know about you, but it's been a bit chilly here in Kansas for the past few days! :)

Make My Monday--1st Week as Guest Design Team Member!

Hello, stamping friends! I am so excited to share the creations I have created for this week's Make My Monday challenge! As I have mentioned in previous posts, I am so incredibly grateful to be a Guest Design Team Member this month--such a great honor! I have to say, I am incredibly nervous! I still feel very self-conscious about my cards (despite the typed words I share) and so please bear with me!!! :)

Okay, this month's challenge theme is Christmas. LOVE IT! It has given me such a fabulous chance to make a bunch of cards to send to people! So, I was excited to see the weekly challenges!

This week: vintage or traditional Christmas card. Oh. I don't own any truly vintage/traditional stamp sets. Soooo...what do I do? The obvious, of course! Head on over to the Graphic's Fairy and print off some fabulous vintage images to use for card making! This concept is new for me--I'm usually exclusively patterned paper and stamping. But I'm please with my results!

Now, anyone who knows me will tell you that I tend to be a bit of an overachiever...and, well, I really enjoyed looking up the fabulous images on Graphic's Fairy...so I made 5 cards. Let's take a look!

Card 1~Compliments of the Season~

This card uses 2 images from online. Isn't that sentiment fabulous?! I also used vintage glitter that I purchased at a garage sale a while back to add sparkle. The bow was an after thought--but I love it! Let's take a closer look...

My DH says this is one of the best Christmas cards I have ever made. Thank you, honey! :) Okay, onwards and upwards!

Card 2~Christmas Roses~

Look at that sweet image! I received a bunch of these little roses in pink and red from a friend of mine (along with the ribbon from the first card), and so I felt that they lent a special detail to the little girl and her puppy...

Card 3~Rosette Christmas Sentiment~

What about this one? Don't you love that image! Such a sweet little angel. It needed a bit of glitz and glimmer (as does everything I make!), so I added the glitter. I wanted to pop the sentiment up, so I placed it on a rosette--very Victorian feel to this one. Those pins? From the same friend mentioned above! So very sweet of her!

Aren't those little kiddies the cutest?! They made me smile! I have a dry embossing folder that is a holly bough, and it just worked perfectly with these images! I added some clear glitter gel pen to the images (can't see it in the above photo...)

Card 5~ STAMPED Vintage Christmas~

Okay, so after digging around in my stamp drawers, I found some vintage images! I was excited to get to stamp on a card for this challenge! Oh, and what do you think of the dry embossed back panel? I thought it was vintage-esque! I, of course, added some glitter. Because, really people, we NEED glimmer and glitz for Christmas! :)
