CASE-ing Christmas: Joy Wreath

Hi, all!  Welcome to another post for a new weekly challenge at CASE-ing Christmas! Take a peek at this week's CASE card...

Isn't that card super FABULOUS?!  I fell in love with the colors, so that's what I decided to make my main CASE point.  I also liked the sentiment and holly, so those play a roll in my card, too.  Come and see my CASE...

I started with the bottom of the card.  I stamped the sentiment with an alphabet set with black ink onto kraft card and then dry embossed the top and bottom of the panel.  I added some glitter gel pen to the sentiment for added shine.  Some gingham ribbon separates the kraft sentiment panel from the image panel.

Next, I stamped a wreath image from Great Impressions onto white card.  I added rhinestones for berries and colored in some of the leaves very lightly.

That was it, all!  This card came together very quickly and I do like the way it turned out!  What do you think?  I would love for you to leave me a comment and let me know!

Packaged With Love

Hi, friends!  I'm here today with a fun Valentine with bright colors and a shabby feel!  I just finished taking a very stressful test today, and so, after I took a nap, ate some dinner, and turned on the TV, I realized I NEEDED to craft!  So, I did!  Come and take a peek at the final product!

I started with a card base that was layered with some glitter paper by DCWV and shabby vintage looking patterned paper from the Bramble Rose collection by My Mind's Eye.  I then added a lace paper doily for a bit more texture before layering on my other elements.

The next step was the hearts.  I used some more floral paper from the Bramble Rose pad, some chevron paper from an old Recollections collection, and polka dot paper from a Recollections polka dot paper package.  A sentiment from Inspired By Stamping was added along with some gems from Want 2 Scrap and rhinestone hearts from Darice (deep red) and Studio 120 (pink).

Lastly, I added some twine from my stash and some flowers and leaves from Inspired By Stamping.  I chose orange two tone roses to tie in the other oranges on the card.  I am just in LOVE with this fun color combo for Valentine's Day!

All that was left was to take the pictures of the card! ;)  I am loving the way it all came together and think that the patterns all go rather well as a group!  What do you think?  I'd love for you to let me know by leaving me a comment!

Guest Designer: STAMPlorations Sketch #27

Hi, friends!  I'm super excited to say that I am a Guest Designer at STAMPlorations this month for their current sketch challenge!  Woohoo!

The sketch they have for this time around is super fun and has TONS of potential!  Come and take a peek at it...

Isn't it cool?!  SO many possibilities, right?  I had a ton of fun using some stamps from the STAMPlorations store to create a fun and CAS card using it...check it out!

I started by creating a main panel using kraft cardstock from The Paper Studio.  I dry embossed a frame onto the panel using a dry embossing folder from Stampin' Up!.  I then added some patterned paper from Michael's to the inside of the frame.  A feather stamped from the Trendy Feathers stamp set from STAMPlorations and a few pearls from Stampin' Up! finished this portion of the card.

I then added some white baker's twine from Stampin' Up! as a bow and a sentiment from the Chevron & Arrows stamp set from STAMPlorations and some more pearls from Stampin' Up!.

This panel was added to a card base that had been prepped with a strip of the same patterned paper from Michael's that was use on the inside of the frame.  I think the finished product is pretty swell!  What do you think?  I'd love for you to leave me a comment and let me know!

Great Impressions: Eiffel Tower Love

Hello, friends!  Happy Monday!  I'm back again with another card that uses some fabulous stamps from the Great Impressions store!  This one is a Valentine since that holiday is upon us!  Take a peek...

I started this fun card by stamping the image, F515 Lg. Eiffel Tower, and heat embossing it on vellum.  I then fussy cut it out and set it aside.

I then created a card base but adhering coordinating strips of patterned paper to the base, adding some denim ribbon, and stamping and heat embossing the sentiment, E859 Forever Yours, and adding some enamel dots.

I then added the Eiffel Tower, added more enamel dots, a glossified heart (yes, that's a word now), and voila!  Card done!  Super easy--and I like it a lot!  What do you think?  I'd love for you to leave a comment and let me know!

Great Impressions: Love, Love, Love!

Hello, blogging friends!  It's time for a new monthly challenge at Great Impressions!  This month, we're looking for creations that fit this theme...

Yep, absolutely ANYTHING that has to do with LOVE!  It could be a Valentine, or a wedding card, or a thinking of you card, or an anniversary card, or a birthday card, ANY card, really, because don't we always make each creation with LOVE?! :)  I went the way of the Valentine, but this image/sentiment combo could also be used for Easter!  Take a peek...

I started by stamping and heat embossing the image, E564 Bunny Love, three times on three different papers--the main panel, a piece of white cardstock, and a piece of coordinating patterned paper.  I then paper pieced the image and added some shine to the hearts and pink to the bunny with a Spectrum Noir marker.  I then added a few rhinestones around the image for some more shine and sparkle!

Next, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment, C343 Somebunny Loves You, on the same panel that the image is on.  I like this black embossing powder with a bit of shine to it--I got it ages ago at a garage sale for a very good price!

I then added some lace trim and ribbon to divide the sentiment from the image.  This completed the main focal panel.

Next, I added some patterned paper, doilies, and sequin trim to a card base so that it would coordinate with the main focal panel.  I used the coordinating patterned paper that I used with the paper pieced image so the design would be cohesive.

The last step was to add the focal panel to the card base!  I decided to add it with dimensional foam to add more depth and interest.  Voila!  A totally darling Valentine!  I love it!  What do you think?  I'd love it if you left me a comment letting me know!

House of Cards: LOVE!

Hello, all!  It's the first of the month--a busy time here on my blog--and I'm sharing my card for this month's challenge over at House of Cards!  We're starting to add "cue words" to our challenge repertoire and this month our first cue is...

You can be inspired by the word however you like!  I took the word literally and used it as my sentiment!  I also decided to go for a shaker card, since they are so fun!  Take a peek at my creation...

I started by creating the shaker portion of the card.  If you've never made one, they are actually quite simple.  Just punch or die cut your shape out of the top portion of the shaker panel (the silver glitter paper on my card), glue acetate to the back of it, add a solid line of dimensional foam around the window shape, add your filling (I used sequins), then add the back portion of the panel (the patterned paper portion with the sentiment on it on my card).  Then you jazz it up!  I used some punched leaves, a small paper flower, and some hot pink pearls.

Before you add your shaker to the card base, jazz that up, too.  I used a punched border, some ribbon, some patterned paper, and some more hot pink pearls to cute-ify (yes, it's now a word) my card base...

I have to say, I LOVE my completed card!  I think it's really pretty and I like how it turned out!  It's destined for a very special someone this Valentine's Day season. :)  What do you think?  I'd love to hear your opinion, so please leave me a comment below!
