Inspired By Stamping: Neon Beauty

Hi, all!  Thanks so much for stopping by today!  I am excited to share my latest creation with you using some of the *NEWEST* stamps from the Inspired By Stamping online store!  I decided to go neon this time. ;)  Take a peek at my card for you today...

I just adore the gorgeous image in the *NEW* Fresh Bouquet set.  I heat embossed part of it onto black cardstock using bright pink embossing powder.  I then colored the image in with colored pencils and added some liquid pearls to the centers of the hydrangea blossoms.  I love the way the colors POP off of the black, don't you?

I decided to use a sentiment from the *NEW* Beautiful You set for this card. I stamped it onto white card with bright pink ink before adding it to the focal panel.  I am so grateful to see one of my stamp designs come to life and I can't wait to design more sets for Inspired By Stamping!

I decided to mat the focal panel with white to help it stand off of the black card base.  A smattering of rhinestones, some faux stitching, and a bit of patterned paper were used to finish off this card.  I really like the way it turned out, and I hope you do, too!  I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! :)

Once again, thank you so much for stopping by today!  That's all I have for now, but I will be back soon with more creations using gorgeous products from the Inspired By Stamping online store!  Don't forget to check out the store for the latest release, and remember that for every $50 order, you will receive a free stamp set!  This month's featured set is the Sending You Set.  Until next time, HUGS and happy stamping to you all!

Great Impressions: Scandinavian Inspired Tulips

Hi, friends!  I'm here with another fun card using darling stamps from the Great Impressions online store to brighten your Monday and start your week off right!  Today, I'm sharing a card that was inspired by my Scandinavian heritage...

Here's my inspiration~

I LOVE the way these colors look on the dark background, and I adore the use of a repeated dot pattern.  Those were my inspirations when creating this card.  Take a peek...

The image, H251 Tall Tulips, was the perfect choice for this technique.  I heat embossed it in white onto black cardstock.  I then did a white ink wash onto the middles of the image.  I took a colored pencil and colored over the white, then around the image.  The last setp was to add the dots with a silver Sharpie marker.

The sentiment, one of the sayings from E791 Sweet Sentiments, was heat embossed in white onto vellum.  I added it to the card using dimensional foam.  The faceted gems cover those up. ;)

To tie everything together, I added more dots as a border around the panel.  I also decided to add some purple glitter paper to my card base for added texture and shine.

I LOVE the way this turned out!  I adore the effect that this technique creates--don't you?  I would love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! :)

Thank you for stopping by, friends!  That's all for me today, but I'll be back next soon with another creation using stamps from the Great Impressions store.  I hope you join in our current challenge, and, if you use Great Impressions stamps, link them up in our Customer Gallery, too!  HUGS and happy stamping to you all!

MMM: Garden Spells Inspiration

Hi, friends!  It's my turn to torture you with one of my Literary Inspiration challenges over at Make My Monday!  This time around, I'd like you to be inspired by the book cover and/or story of "GARDEN SPELLS" BY SARAH ADDISON ALLEN.

Here's the book cover~

A little bit about this story: "The Waverleys have always been a curious family, endowed with peculiar gifts that make them outsiders even in their hometown of Bascom, North Carolina. Even their garden has a reputation, famous for its feisty apple tree that bears prophetic fruit, and its edible flowers, imbued with special powers. Generations of Waverleys tended this garden. Their history was in the soil. But so were their futures. A successful caterer, Claire Waverley prepares dishes made with her mystical plants - from the nasturtiums that aid in keeping secrets and the pansies that make children thoughtful, to the snapdragons intended to discourage the attentions of her amorous neighbor. Meanwhile, her elderly cousin, Evanelle, is known for distributing unexpected gifts whose uses become uncannily clear. They are the last of the Waverleys - except for Claire’s rebellious sister, Sydney, who fled Bascom the moment she could, abandoning Claire, as their own mother had years before. When Sydney suddenly returns home with a young daughter of her own, Claire’s quiet life is turned upside down - along with the protective boundary she has so carefully constructed around her heart. Together again in the house they grew up in, Sydney takes stock of all she left behind, as Claire struggles to heal the wounds of the past. And soon the sisters realize they must deal with their common legacy - if they are ever to feel at home in Bascom - or with each other." (Description from HERE.)

Details~

I've used the Black Magic technique and used stamps by Inspired by Stamping and a sentiment by Stampin' Up!.  The liquid pearl accents are by Ranger, the white ink is by Versamark, the white embossing powder is by Stampendous!, the colored pencils I used to color the images are by Crayola, and the cardstock is all Stampin' Up!.

I love the story of this book.  I was inspired by the layout and theme of the cover but the sentiment was inspired by Claire's personality.  She just keeps going no matter what.  She's blocked out a lot of feelings because they are just too painful and she just stays calm and carries on.  Poor girl!  But there is a happy ending!  Read the book if you care to find out. ;)

Thanks for coming by to take a peek at my creation!  I do hope you'll come and join in our challenge this week and that you'll take a bit more time to say hello to the other gals on the DT!  Happy stamping! :)

Good gravy...

Well, I've made so many cards that I don't think I'll get around to blogging about all of them before next week!  So, I have to pick and choose which ones to show you...UGH!  I've got a couple for this post and then hope to do one more post tonight.  We'll see if it happens...

Card one~

For these fabulous challenges~

(THANK YOU--I had these black scraps
that were screaming to be used!)

This is a sympathy card made for a friend from church who's mother recently passed away.  I wanted something beautiful for her because she deserves it.  This is what I came up with.  A few thoughts for WAW--we show our love for God by serving others.  And what better way to serve others than to bless them with out God given talents?!  I am so grateful for all that He has done in my life and love Him with an imperfect love that I hope will one day be made perfect through Him.

Second card~

For these fabulous challenges~

This isn't as CAS as I really wanted it to be, but I think that it ended up being gorgeous!  I used a dark brown cardstock for my base, stamped the flower images in white and then colored over them with colored pencil--black magic technique!!!  A simple sentiment is the perfect addition to the sumptuous layered and blinged up flower.  How's that for selling it?! ;)

Thanks for stopping by--I LOVE having you here!  Please join in with these fabulous challenges and I will see you again soon!  Happy stamping! :)
