CASual Colors

Well, I've had an interesting weekend...Picasa.  That's all I'm going to say.  Some of you may know the issues I've dealt with--if you want more info about dealing with Picasa problems, email me and I will share what I've learned!  BUT, I do have a card to share with you today!!!

Here it is~

For these fabulous challenges~

CFC61

It was a fun card to make.  I used some cardboard from a package of patterned paper, cut a strip, added some washi tape.  Next, I put it onto my card, and added some elements!  That fabulous polka dotted arrow is from the die cuts that Katy sent me!!!  I'm loving them! :)  I'll be sending this to a special friend so it's also my weekly "Spread the L-O-V-E" card! :)

Thanks for stopping by--I hope you have a fabulous week and had a wonderful weekend!  Happy stamping! :)

I miss my nieces...

I do.  I miss them lots!  So, I decided to make a special card just for them!  I hope they like it--I've used a digi from Sliekje Digi Stamps and you can find it HERE.  All of the digis on this sight are free!!!  And their adorable!  I've also used a digi sentiment that I made by myself.  I'm gonna give it to you free in this post for stopping by!  I appreciate it! :)

Here's the card~

I've used some glossy accents on parts of my image.  I don't know why, but as soon as I heard "summer" I thought of using glossy accents!  What do you think?  I think my nieces will love it!  And since it's for someone special, this is a "Spread the L-O-V-E" card as well.

Here's the digi sentiment I promised (jpeg & png file types)~
EDITED TO REMOVE FREEBIE

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you like what you've seen and that you'll participate in these fabulous challenges!  Happy stamping--digi stamping, that is! ;)

Might be my last post for a bit...

...excluding DT posts, of course!  I have family coming into town this weekend and they will be staying for a week, so I may be quite silent here except the scheduled DT posts I have!  Okay, I have a card to show you--I'm really excited about it!  This is the first time I've tried a cascading card, so please be gentle in your critique...oh, and you may or may not see this next month at Technique TuesdayAlso, don't forget I have blog candy!

Here it is~

So, what do you think?  I was quite impressed with it as it is my first effort at this!  I'm sure I'll look back at this card and realize how it could be improved, but right now I am content with it!  AND, I finally used my Apothecary Art set--so bonus! ;)  I hope you like what you see, and I hope you take the time to enter these fabulous challenges--happy stamping and hope to see you soon, friends! :)

BLOG CHANGES

*****This is a sticky post that will stay at the top of my blog until the middle of May 2012. Please scroll down for actual crafty posts!*****

UPDATE: I have removed what I believe to be all Shabby Blogs elements from my blog after a good blogging friend let me know she was receiving malware warnings from McAfee about Shabby Bogs.   I've also done the same with Technique Tuesday and My Uni-Verse (my digi art blog).  PLEASE LET ME KNOW if you are having problems loading my blog still, or having problems accessing Technique Tuesday or My Uni-Verse by emailing me (see sidebar).

Okay, so some of you may see that there are some layout changes on my blog.  Yes.  I like change.  Sometimes.  Usually when it comes to organizing and furniture placement.  But I digress (a common occurrence for those of you just joining us...).

OKAY.  Here is what I've changed:

1. My blog movement, "Spread the L-O-V-E" can be found under the tab at the top of this blog.  I decided I didn't want to keep the sticky post at the top of my blog until December as a lot of people aren't even signing up.  BUT, if you'd like to join us, I would literally be THRILLED!  Just click the tab above for more information! :)

2. Technique Tuesday is now a MONTHLY CRAFTY BLOG CHALLENGE THING.  I kept the first post about it here on this blog because I love all of your kind comments and would lose them if I deleted the post.  BUT, if you want to link to this month's challenge, you'll need to go to the new Technique Tuesday blog HERE.  I will be keeping the Technique Tuesday tab up at the top of this blog and it will take you to the challenge blog each time you click on it for easier maneuvering.  BUT, I'd love for you to follow my challenge and participate because as soon as I have 20 regular participants, I will be giving away prizes (aside from the honor badges).

Okay.  That really doesn't sound like much, but it was a lot of hard work!  I may have more blog layout challenges coming soon.  I am wanting to keep things looking neat and tidy, and I like change as mentioned before.  SO, stay tuned for more changes!  Possibly...

HAPPY STAMPING, FRIENDS!!! :)

Another couple of cards...

Two more quick ones for you tonight.  Both very different in their styles, but similar in the bold and bright colors. :)

Here's the first one~

Details~

This is another card made with my brand spankin' new, from Great Britain, GORGEOUS Everything Eleanor set from Stampin' Up!  It's for the One Layer Wednesday Women Rule! challenge and the Stampin' Sisters in Christ Green Thumb challenge. :)  It's also for "Spread the L-O-V-E".  It's a birthday card for a friend who's celebration is tomorrow and that I haven't seen in awhile.  I'll be popping by tomorrow night with a treat for her! :)

Here's the second card~

Details~

This one was a bit harder to make.  It's only the second circular card I've made, so it was kinda slow going.  I used a Spellbinders Nestabilities die to create the circle card base and then added some Stampin' Up! patterned paper I forgot I had as well as a darling image from Stampin' Up! that I forgot I had and a sentiment from Kaiser craft.  Rhinestones and glitter and ribbon finished it off. :)  This one's for the Mojo Monday sketch, the Creative Belli Animals challenge, the Color Throwdown Color Inspiration challenge, and the Stamptacular Sunday Spring Bling! challenge. :)

Thanks for stopping by!  I hope you can play along and that I've inspired you to craft and create today!  Happy stamping, friends!!! :)  PS: How do you like my attempt at photo placement today?  Is it working, or not so much?

This and that...

...and the other! That's what I have for you today! I have quite a few cards to post so that I don't miss any deadlines!!! We all know that this happens to me...I'm working on it! That's why this is gonna be so long. Okay, so let's get started, shall we?

**********WARNING: PICTURE AND LINK HEAVY**********

My first card is for the Gingersnap Creations Words of Wisdom challenge. The poppy image is a digi image from Prairie Fairy and the "words of wisdom" is from the PTI Simply Jane Set. Shimmer cardstock by Core-dinations. The image was colored in with ink and blender pens by Stampin' Up! and highlighted by Sakura gel pens. Pearls are by Studio 112 and Stampin' Up! The shaped card was made with dies cuts from Spellbinders Nestibilities.

Here's the card~

Details & Inside~

The quote that I used for this card is one of my FAVORITE quotes ever. I love the background behind it as well. Since I'm a HUGE Jane Austen fan, let me explain the quote. The quote is from the novel "Sense and Sensibility." It's the tale of three sisters and their mother who become penniless after their father passes away and his estate is entailed to their half brother. Who has an EVIL wife. But I digress...okay, so Eleanor and Marianne are the two sisters that this story is mainly about. Marianne falls for a JERK (I shall refrain from calling him the true thing he is) named Willoughby and has her heart broken. While this disastrous love story is taking place, there is another man who truly loves Marianne. He is much older, but much wiser. After Marianne re-pieces her heart together, she says this quote as a contrast of the two men. *sigh* You gotta read that book!!!

Okay, onto another card! ;) This one is for the Stamptacular Sunday photo inspiration challenge and the Creative Belli sketch challenge. Yes, this is a sympathy card that was bought by a co-worker. :) I've used Prima flowers, pearls by Studio 112, all papers, ink, and images from Stampin' Up! and embossing folders by Sizzix.

Here's the inspiration photo and sketch~

NEXT! I know--this is long! PLEASE forgive me and hang in there! ;) This card is for the Pile it On Fun Folds Challenge and the Color Throwdown color challenge. I made this specifically for my mom, and so this is also another "Spread the L-O-V-E" card for this week. :)

All papers, ink, and stamps, punches, and ribbon are by Stampin' Up! The pearls are by SU! and Studio 112 and the rhinestones are from Kaiser Craft.

Here's the color inspiration~

Here's my SPRING card~

Details~

This is a really fun card fold to play with--and it's very easy to do! If you'd like to have a step by step tutorial, click here. :) The ribbon flower was created with single stitched ribbon. I simply pushed the ribbon down the stitching and wound it around a Gluber. :)

Whew! Sorry that was so long! I just needed to make sure that these got posted--wouldn't it be a shame if they weren't shared? I LOVE seeing everyone else's creations, so I hope you enjoy mine! Thanks for sticking in there--happy stamping! :)
