Black & White and Read All Over

Hello, stamper AND reader friends! I hope all my friends here in the USA and in Canada are having a relaxing Labor Day holiday! I have been stampin' up a storm today! So, without further ado, I present the two challenges I am submitting these cards to: CAS-ual Friday & The Play Date Cafe!!!

I was SO excited to get to make cards that were black and white with a splash of red for this PDC challenge and when CAS-ual Fridays threw in the book inspiration thing, I was totally excited! So, I have made three cards. Because I read. A LOT. And this was REALLY fun!

The first card that I made was inspired by the Grimm fairy tale of Snow White and Rose Red.

Here it is~

I stamped the wild rose image in Real Red and then added Dazzling Diamonds glitter to them as "snow". I like the sentiment because Snow White and Rose Red loved many things and therefore had a full life.

My second card is inspired by a contemporary work of adult fiction entitled "The Wednesday Letters" by Jason F. Wright.

Here it is~

In this book, children return home to take care of the family house and possessions after their parents pass away to discover that their parents wrote each other a letter every Wednesday. And the letters hold a secret that their parents kept from them. That's all I'm telling you! I added the dazzling diamonds glitter to the hearts on this card. :)

My third and final card is inspired by the classic novel "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee.

Here is is~

This book is one of my absolute favorite books of all time. I chose then sentiment because Atticus Finch states in the book that, "[Other people in this town are] certainly entitled to think that, and they're entitled to full respect for their opinions... but before I can live with other folks I've got to live with myself. The one thing that doesn't abide by majority rule is a person's conscience."

Thanks, ladies for two fabulous challenges--I thoroughly enjoyed them!!! :) I hope my little post has inspired you to either create or read today! Happy stamping and happy reading!
